Xbox Website Gets An Original Xbox Makeover To Celebrate 20th Anniversary

2 years 6 months ago

The Xbox website has once again received a makeover to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the brand. Following an Xbox 360-era makeover, this new refresh makes the page look like something out of the Original Xbox days. As you can see in the screengrab below, the front page of Xbox.com now features the Original Xbox logo and imagery.

What's very cool about this is that the website remains fully functional, too. The 20th Anniversary logo is also clearly displayed on the newly updated website to mark the occasion.

Happy birthday, Xbox

This is all part of Microsoft's ongoing celebration of Xbox to mark the 20th anniversary of the brand. The Original Xbox and Halo: Combat Evolved launched on November 15, 2001, and on that very day, Microsoft is hosting a video broadcast to further celebrate the milestone (but don't expect any new game announcements).

In addition to updating the website, Microsoft is releasing a special-edition Xbox controller and headset themed around 20 years of Xbox, while there is a new Halo-branded Xbox Series X console on the way.

Outside of the anniversary, Microsoft has a new piece of hardware coming this year--a mini-fridge. The Xbox mini-fridge, which plays off the joke that the Series X looks like a refrigerator, launches this year for $100. Preorders opened on October 19.
