Warner Bros. Gaming Division Might Be Sold; EA, Take-Two, And Activision Reportedly Interested

AT&T is reportedly looking to sell its Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, according to a report by CNBC. The deal could reach $4 billion, according to sources, who asked to not be named by CNBC.

Take-Two, EA, and Activision Blizzard have all reportedly expressed interest in buying the Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, but no deals have been made or are close to completion. Many of the video games tied with the gaming division are related to Warner Bros.-owned properties, including Batman, Harry Potter, and The Lego Movie, meaning that a deal might involve a licensing agreement where AT&T continues to profit from its IP.

Other notable games include Mortal Kombat 11 and Middle-earth: Shadow of War. AT&T is reportedly looking to sell off assets to lessen its $200 billion in debt. AT&T acquired Time Warner in 2018, which included the Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
