Valorant Beta Is Live, But Hit With Launch Day Issues

League of Legends developer Riot Games is branching out with new projects like Valorant, which launches its closed beta starting today. It wouldn't be a beta without a few snags, though, and beta players are hitting errors preventing them from trying out the new character shooter.

The official Valorant Twitter account says that logins on one service are causing timeouts down the line, and that Riot is aware of the problem and working on it. It also referred players to Riot Support, which issued its own statement. A number of players appear to be hitting "Error 43," which appears after hanging in a loading screen. That may be the timeout error that Riot described.

For the time being, the closed beta is limited to the United States, Europe, Canada, Russia, and Turkey. Riot has said that other regions may be coming but it will depend on developments with the coronavirus pandemic. To access the beta, you'll need to register a Riot account and link it to a Twitch account, then watch Valorant streams.
