Smite 2 Revealed, Will Run Alongside The First Game

3 months 3 weeks ago

Smite 2 is set to revamp the action MOBA's pantheon, with overhauled visuals and revamped Gods. The sequel has been newly constructed in Unreal Engine 5.

The sequel promises a cleaner user interface with easier-to-parse spell effects. Each God's abilities have also gotten changes, and some Gods like Ymir have new physics-based powers. The game adds two power sources, Strength and Intelligence, to further distinguish each God's abilities. At first glance, the game appears to play much as the first one did.

Smite 2 moves to a new backend, enabling cross-play, improved matchmaking, and a reworking of the ranking system. The Relic and Items systems have also been totally overhauled to be more accessible to new players.

If you've spent a lot of time or money in the original game, much of that will transfer into the sequel. All gems spent in Smite 1 will be converted into Legacy Gems in Smite 2 for spending on new purchases. Smite 2 will also include cross-generation skins that will work in both games.

The original Smite's servers will remain active as the sequel launches. That would imply that the game will not recieve continued content updates, but there has been no official word as yet.

You can wishlist Smite 2 on Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. No mention of whether You can also register for alpha test access on the Smite 2 official website. A release date has not yet been announced.
