Rainbow Six Siege Launches New Grand Larceny Event

Ubisoft has announced a new limited-time mode for its multiplayer shooter Rainbow Six Siege, and it's an interesting one. Titled Grand Larceny, players are sorted into two teams of attackers and defenders in a customized version of the game's Hereford map. It's live right now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Rather than defusing a bomb or freeing hostages, in this new "Stolen Goods" mode, the attackers are tasked with opening a certain number of safeboxes, which the defenders must prevent from happening. As usual, either side also wins if they eliminate all others in the opposing team. However, your weaponry is quite limited: the attackers don't have their usual drones, and everyone is equipped with the same shotgun.

Most of the flooring in the area is quite fragile, and there's no metal beams to keep you on the same floor, so players will need to watch their footing. Due to the nature of the mode, a certain number of the game's operators aren't available in it, including Glaz, Nomad, Buck, and several others. Check out the full list below.
