Persona 5 Royal is releasing on PS4 at a very opportune time. With many holed up at home while practicing social distancing, passing the hours with a gigantic role-playing game has never felt more doable. Persona 5 Royal is an expanded version of the beloved 2017 entry in the series, featuring roughly 20 hours of new content and a wealth of changes and optimizations. If you're getting your copy of Persona 5 Royal today, we'd like to remind you that you can also nab all of Persona 5's DLC for free from the PlayStation Store.
The add-on content isn't loaded on the disc or baked into the install; you have to actually seek out the Persona 5 Royal Legacy DLC Bundle on PSN. Most of the add-ons are costume sets such as the Christmas and Swimsuit Sets, but you can also summon characters from previous Persona games such as Kaguya and Thanatos.
In addition to the Legacy DLC Bundle, Royal players can grab the Tracksuit Costume Set for free. Persona 5 Royal also has some paid DLC of its own. Once again, the majority of the add-ons are costume sets, but there are other types of add-ons like the Battle Bundle ($10), which provide helpful items to use in combat. Alternatively, you can get all of the DLC in one package with the Persona 5 Royal DLC Bundle ($60).
