Minecraft Legends Development Is Ending

3 months 3 weeks ago

Mojang is backing away from Minecraft Legends. The developer announced today that it will not release any new content for the game as the studio takes "a step back from development" on the project.

The existing Lost Legends challenges will stay online for free, and players can continue to earn their related rewards. Additionally, technical support for Minecraft Legends will continue to be available, and all features and functionality will stay online. This includes support for PvP and co-op staying online and functional.

Minecraft Legends launched in April 2023 and is available across Xbox and PlayStation consoles, as well as Nintendo Switch and PC. The real-time action strategy game set in Minecraft's Overworld was developed by Mojang and Blackbird Interactive.

While support for Minecraft Legends is ending, Mojang said it expects to "continue bringing new experiences to the Minecraft universe" with other projects in due time.

One of the upcoming non-gaming Minecraft projects is the Minecraft feature film, which stars Jason Momoa and Jack Black.
