PlayStation Store's 2020 Spring Sale is worth a look

[Update: More deals were added now that we're midway through the Spring Sale. Here are some recommendations to consider: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare ($44.99), Spider-Man: Game of the Year Edition ($19.99), Sekiro ($38.99), Hunt: Showdown ($27.99), Batman: Return to Arkham ($5.99), Overcooked 2 ($14.99), Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy ($19.99), and Spyro Reignited Trilogy ($19.99).]

Sony is running the 2020 PlayStation Store Spring Sale until April 29, 2020, at 8:00 a.m. Pacific.

The PlayStation Store takes a quantity-over-quality approach to deals, to the point where a "Spring Sale" doesn't necessarily carry as much weight as it would on other digital game storefronts, but this one is worth looking at, I think. I would've happily paid some of these prices for some of these games.

I've included the PlayStation Blog's list at the bottom of this post, but here's what stood out to me:

  • Borderlands 3 ($29.99)
  • Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled ($23.99)
  • Dark Souls III ($14.99)
  • Days Gone ($19.99)
  • Death Stranding ($29.99)
  • Doom (2016) ($7.99)
  • Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot ($40.19)
  • Far Cry New Dawn ($15.99)
  • Far Cry Primal – Digital Apex Edition ($10.49)
  • GreedFall ($24.99)
  • Job Simulator ($12.99)
  • Journey to the Savage Planet ($17.99)
  • Kingdom Hearts All-in-One Package ($29.99)
  • Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain ($3.99)
  • Mortal Kombat 11 ($23.99)
  • No Man's Sky ($22.49)
  • Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville ($19.99)
  • Prototype 2 ($7.99)
  • Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order ($35.99)
  • Tetris Effect ($19.99)
  • The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan ($14.99)
  • The Outer Worlds ($40.19)
  • Trials Rising ($7.49)
  • Warhammer: Vermintide 2 ($14.99)
  • Wattam ($9.99)

In particular, I have to give a shout-out to Journey to the Savage Planet, a sci-fi platformer adventure that scratched a "Metroid Prime lite" itch for me. It's low-key one of my favorite games so far in 2020.

Oh, and if you're on a Doom kick, the original Doom and Doom II are $2.99 each. They never get old!

The US sale is over here, and the EU sale is right here.
