Cyberpunk 2077 delayed until November 19

CD Projekt RED has announced that its epic-looking RPG Cyberpunk 2077 will not meet its September 17 release date, and is now scheduled to launch a little over two months later on November 19.

The developer/publisher broke the news on Twitter just minutes ago, noting that although the highly anticipated adventure title is essentially good-to-go, further time was desired in order to add a final layer of polish to the game. CDPR will use the extra development period to fix bugs, balance game mechanics, and generally tweak the final product to offer fans the best experience possible. You can check out CDPR's full statement in the tweet below.

This is, of course, not the first time CDPR has delayed Cyberpunk 2077 in order to make it the game the best it can possibly be. With years of hype behind this particular title - building to almost fever-pitch in the past 12 months - it's understandable that the developer wishes to make sure its audience will be pleased with their eventual trip into Night City. Hopefully, these delays have also gone some way to decreasing pressure on the developers themselves.

Cyberpunk 2077 will now launch November 19 on PS4, PC, Xbox One, and Stadia.
