Fate/Extella Link Protagonist Charlemagne Appears in Fate/Grand Order

1 year 11 months ago

Fate Extella Link protagonist Charlemagne in Fate Grand Order FGO

Charlemagne, the protagonist of Fate/Extella Link, has appeared in Fate/Grand Order. The Japanese version of the mobile game has a new gacha pool that included the Saber-class Servant as one of the three featured characters.

Fate/Extella Link is a hack-and-slash action game that appeared first for PlayStation 4 and Vita in Japan in June 2018. Marvelous and Xseed have since brought the game worldwide with more platform choices, including Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile devices. It took roughly four years since Fate/Extella Link's release for Charlemagne to make his debut in Fate/Grand Order.

Charlemagne is the first new Servant from the Fate/Extella series to appear in Fate/Grand Order, which has been running in Japan since 2015. The 2016 title Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star featured the debut of Archimedes as a Caster-class Servant, but the latter has still yet to appear as a recruitable Servant in the mobile game.

However, Charlemagne is not the only new servant added to Fate/Grand Order with this update. Roland, one of his Twelve Paladins, also appears as a Saber-class Servant. Sigurd's wife Kriemhild completes the update's roster as a Berserker.

Review: Tokoyo Makes Avoiding Combat a Way of Life

Review: Tokoyo Makes Avoiding Combat a Way of Life

Tokoyo: The Tower of Perpetuity is a weird little game! It’s a genre-bending indie title. One which is billed as a roguelike, though I’d say that’s not exactly true. It demands skill and precision! Especially since you only have a day to master the titular Tower of Perpetuity. But what really sticks with me is how well this platformer that prioritizes evasion really captures the shoot’em up spirit.

Cocoa, Imibi, Kanae, Kukuri, and Shippo de Tail all find themselves drawn to a deserted tower. They have no idea why. All they know is that they are compelled to ascend it and reach the summit. However, every day its layout changes. (That’s in real-world time.) Not to mention there will be an opportunity to choose paths within, which will further determine layouts and bosses. Your goal is to reach the top, and potentially also climb the online leaderboard as you do.

Each month, people get two FFVII Remake calendar pictures. One is designed to be used as a PC background. The other is more mobile friendly. These always feature FFVII Remake main characters like Yuffie so far.

Here are the June 2022 FFVII Remake images.

Yuffie follows Red XIII. That character was the star of the May 2022 calendars. Before that, Aerith appeared in April 2022. Cloud, Barret, and Tifa kicked off this year. This means that we should start seeing antagonists, like Sephiroth, or supporting cast members, such as Sinon, showing up for the next few.

The 10 Best Steam Deck Games

1 year 11 months ago

The Steam Deck is a powerful little handheld capable of playing a lot of amazing games. OK, well it’s not that little, but it makes up for its bulky size with sheer power and Steam’s seemingly endless library of software. For our Top 10 Steam Deck Games list, we wanted to set up a few parameters for our recommendations, including the kind of games it's capable of running, how well it runs them, and portability.

Sure, you can run games like Vampire Survivors or Tunic on it, and we've sunk our fair share of hours into each, but part of the spectacle is that the Steam Deck can run huge triple-A games on the go. There are a few caveats, of course. Some of these games are pretty massive in file size or require an initial internet connection, and even some mild tweaking in the settings to get running well, but hey, it wouldn’t be PC gaming without those things after all.

So, without further ado, here are our Top 10 Games for the Steam Deck!

10. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Hideo Kojima's final Metal Gear Solid is an ambitious stunner, and the Steam Deck has no troubles at all running it in silky smooth 60 frames per second. And that is a very good thing, because the sandbox available to you is every bit as detailed and sophisticated as you can hope for.

While another Kojima game, Death Stranding, is heavily advertised as playable on Steam Deck, Metal Gear Solid 5's tactical espionage action could be the Kojima game worth checking out on the Steam Deck instead.

PlayStation Plus Games for June 2022 Announced

1 year 11 months ago

Sony has revealed the PlayStation Plus games for June 2022 are God of War, Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker, and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl.

Revealed on the PlayStation Blog, all three games will be made available at no extra cost to all PlayStation Plus subscribers on June 7.

God of War is the 2018 reboot of one of PlayStation's signature franchises that took the world by storm with its story-focused, third-person action. Follow Kratos as he deals with his troubled past and complicated future as he tries to raise a son while being attacked by half the gods and monsters of Norse mythology.

In our 10/10 review, IGN said: "God of War’s outstanding characters, world, and combat come together to form an unforgettable adventure."

Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker is an online multiplayer game where teams of four ninjas compete against each other, bending the timeline of the Naruto anime and its follow-up Boruto to include a ton of fan-favourite characters.

Last but not least, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl brings another collection of characters together in a colourful fighting game that pits Spongebob Squarepants against Avatar's Korra and Nigel Thornberry.

Sonic Frontiers Gameplay Premiere Flaunts Open World Exploration

1 year 11 months ago

IGN has released the very first look at Sonic Frontiers gameplay. There’s not a lot of of context to be found, but what is seen is very promising and looks to be a Sonic the Hedgehog take on Breath of the Wild.

You can see all of the seven minutes of Sonic Frontiers gameplay here and below:

The video opens with a quite menacing tower in the far distance. We then get to watch as Sonic makes his way not only to this tower to demonstrate the open world, but he actually is able to climb it. Surmounting the tower takes quite a few traditional Sonic traversal mechanics such bounce pads, grind rails, and wall running. Seeing as the game as that same “if you can see it, you can get to it” vibe as Breath of the Wild, the comparison is definitely reasonable.

Sonic Frontiers wouldn’t be a Sonic the Hedgehog game if all the traversal was on foot, either. The looks given at the sky show the air above Sonic littered with grind rails for a bit of an adrenaline-fueled journey around the area.

Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord for PS5, PS4, & Switch Reveals “Dramatic Resonance” Between Songs

1 year 11 months ago

Compile Heart released two more videos of the upcoming JRPG Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord, focusing on the music.

Like the previous videos, these don’t show any gameplay but reveal how two songs interact in the game.

The first is “Inori no Neiro” (Tones of Prayer), which is a song performed by the friendly diva Fleur, while the second is “Goku Yoru Hyousetsu” (Snow of the Polar Night) performed by the enemy diva Glace.

This time around we see how they mash up when they are performed together on the battlefield, creating a “Dramatic Resonance” area, a positional element in which both the buffs created by the friendly diva and the debuffs created by the enemy deva are doubled in effect. Basically, you can step in it for some high-risk, high-reward moments.

You can sample the music below, showing how it can interact in two different ways.

Is Miraculous Ladybug an Anime?

1 year 11 months ago

Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, also called Miraculous Ladybug, is a South Korean animated series that has managed to garner popularity and fans across the globe. With the art style and aesthetics matching very closely to what many would consider anime-looking, several fans are looking for a clear and decisive answer on whether Miraculous Ladybug is anime or not.

So to end this discussion once and for all, in this guide, we will answer the question – is Miraculous Ladybug an anime?

Is Miraculous Ladybug an Anime?

It will be surprising to know that Miraculous Ladybug is very close be being called an anime, despite the show being set in France. This is because of Miraculous’s relations to Japanese animation, which makes a strong case for it being labeled as anime. The actual motivation for Miraculous Ladybug came simply because its producer had watched numerous anime shows and was really spellbound with the whole affair.

The earliest promotional video for the series used traditional 2D animation, in hopes to give viewers a sense of manga-esque color. This raised issues with animating certain scenes, so the decision was made to animate the series with the help of CGI. The well-known study Toei Animation Co., which has produced shows like Dragon Ball Z, the original Generation 1 Transformers cartoon, also co-produces and distributes the Miraculous Ladybug series.

This further problematizes the subject of whether or not Miraculous counts as an anime. After all, Toei is a Japanese company, which is commonly thought of as the acceptance criteria, though it did not actually animate the series.

Who Are the New Professors in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

1 year 9 months ago

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet might be following some traditions of the series, but it is also treading new ground in many ways. One of the most exciting things about the game is that there are two Professors, not just one. Where things get really interesting is that depending on which game you choose to play, that will impact which Professor you end up dealing with.

Who Are the New Professors in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

The new Professors in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are called Professor Sada and Professor Turo. According to the official press release, each Professor is carrying out research in the region, so it looks like there may be some friendly competition between the two. You might end up working for one and against the other as you explore Scarlet and Violet’s open world.

The names of the characters and how they are dressed also play into a popular theory about the game, which is that it will somehow be set in both the past and the future. Professor Sada, who is dressed in some older-looking garb, can be associated with the Spanish word “pasada,” which means past. Turo, on the other hand, is dressed in more futuristic clothes, and his name can be associated with the Spanish word “future,” meaning future. With the area and Pokemon name from Scarlet and Violet having obvious Spanish inspiration, it gives a lot of credence to the fan theory that the game might just involve some sort of time-traveling mechanic.

Diablo Immortal Max Clan Capacity

1 year 11 months ago

Part of the main fun of playing such massive games like Diablo Immortal is getting to play in a clan with friends. In this instance, it’s also a good idea to have a bigger clan to help tackle any possible obstacles. But, how many friends can you have? We’re here to tell you all about the max clan capacity in Diablo Immortal.

In Diablo, clans allow players to join their accounts into one common group which provides various social features including easy messaging within the clan, open game display and easy joining, legendary item find and achievement completion notification, and more. While useful, they are not mandatory and do not provide any special features or bonus content.

What is the Max Clan Capacity in Diablo Immortal?

Before diving into Diablo Immortal for the clan capabilities, you should know that the max clan size is 150 members. While this does sound like a lot, considering the game is free-to-play, there is certain to be more than the usual number of players. For reference on clan size, World of Warcraft has a max clan capacity of 1,000 players.

That’s everything you need to know when it comes to the max clan capacity in Diablo Immortal. Diablo Immortal is available now and free-to-play on PC, iOS, and Android devices.

Get a 6600MB/s Crucial P5 Plus SSD for £81, nearly £20 cheaper than it was last week

1 year 11 months ago

The Crucial P5 Plus is one of my favourite SSDs, as you might know from me writing about it last week. . Then, I was happy to announce that this rapid 1TB PCIe 4.0 drive had made it to £100 - a price it's gotten near a few times before but not stayed at with any regularity. You can imagine my surprise, therefore, when I discovered that Crucial are now selling the same drive at their site for £80.69 - a genuine bargain and the lowest price we've ever seen by some margin.

Our 10 most anticipated PC games coming out in June

1 year 11 months ago

It’s officially summer, although you wouldn’t think it based on the amount of rain we’ve had up here in Newcastle this week. Still, that vague hint of warmth that lingers between the raindrops has got me dreaming of all those lovely things that make summer so appealing. Al fresco dining, excluding that bit where a wasp crawls into your glass of Fanta, which seems to happen to me a lot. Music festivals, minus the part where you queue for half an hour to have a wee. Oh, and obviously spending time on a beach somewhere hot, purposefully ignoring that horrible bit where you try to get your socks back on after taking a dip in the ocean and the sand scrapes against your skin.

OK, so maybe summer isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Why do we even bother leaving the house, when we can stay indoors and play video games on PC instead? June is a little sparse when it comes to new releases (as is so often the case during these warmer seasons) but there’s still plenty on the horizon to keep you occupied.

Pick up an Intel 12th-gen B660 motherboard for £86 (£110 off)

1 year 11 months ago

Intel's 12th-gen motherboards are getting cheaper, which is handy if you're planning a new build around one of Intel's excellent 12100, 12400F or 12600F CPUs for gaming. One of the best deals we've spotted is for the Asus Prime B660M-A WiFi D4, which launched at £197 and is now down to £86 at CCL in the UK.

This motherboard uses better value DDR4 memory, two M.2 PCIe 4.0 slots and WiFi 6 on board, so it ticks a lot of boxes in terms of the essentials. You're missing some things from higher-end Z690 boards - like PCIe 5.0, USB-C ports and 2.5-gig networking - but nothing that affects gaming performance, at least in the here and now.

The JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R Dio Trailer is Here

The JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R Dio Brando trailer is here. Bandai Namco's been gradually rolling out videos focusing on specific characters. It kicked off June 2022 with a look at the series' most famous villain.

Dio's been a part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure since the very beginning. He first showed up in Phantom Blood. He was the foil to Jonathan Joestar, his adopted brother. After that, he returned in Stardust Crusaders and faced Jotaro Kujo. The JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R Dio shown below is based on his Stardust Crusaders appearance. (The fact that his name is shown as DIO instead of Dio is a giveaway. He's only referred as that after the third part of the series.)

Here's the full video.
