You can find the trailer here and below:

Also announced during this exact State of Play was the remake to Resident Evil 4 and that Resident Evil Village will follow in the footsteps of RE7 and release on PSVR2. In a further reveal, No Man’s Sky will be getting its own PSVR2 release.

Stunning Indie Game Season: A Letter To The Future Coming This Fall

1 year 11 months ago

We haven't seen the jaw-dropping, peaceful-seeming indie since last year. Just a few months after its debut at The Game Awards, the title seemed to be stalled after several hostile workplace allegations. However, today's State of Play proved the game is still in development and aims to come out in Autumn. The unexpected release window is coming up quickly, but the gorgeous new trailer suggests Season: A Letter to the Future will be ready.

Season won't task you with fighting monsters or saving the world. Rather, the game puts the player in the shoes of a traveler named Estelle, who is recording everything around her for posterity. There are hints that Season's sweeping vistas, sun-drenched fields, and flowing waterfalls won't be around for future generations. The trailer explains that no one knows what will happen when "the season" ends, which makes the job of documenting the world for the future so important. We see the protagonist going about this assignment is various ways, like writing in a journal, taking photos, and recording audio. She also stops off to speak with the people around her while exploring the landscape on her bike.

As the narrative designer, Meg Hutchison explains:

As for the trailer, it showcased more of the behind-the-cat, third-person (err, third-feline?) gameplay central to the game. As previously seen, this stray cat inhabits a very cyberpunk-esque world, filled with robots and more. As for the titular stray cat's place in all this, it seems they're on a mission to help inhabitants of this world and ultimately, find a way home.

You can watch the trailer for yourself below:

Here's what publisher Annapurna Interactive has to say about Stray: "In Stray, players take the role of a stray cat who must untangle an ancient mystery to escape a long-forgotten cybercity amidst the detailed neon-lit alleys and the murky environments of its seedy underbelly. Stray Prowls Onto PlayStation and PC in July 2022

1 year 11 months ago

Stray

For a certain subset of players, Sony's State of Play might as well have been about the "date of Stray." BlueTwelve and Annapurna Interactive's new third-person (third-feline?) adventure game has a release date: July 19, 2022. The game places players in control of an ordinary feral cat. This cat befriends a little drone known as B12, and must navigate a decaying, futuristic cyberpunk city and its outskirts. Together, they'll solve an ancient mystery to find a way home.

Check out the Stray release date trailer below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOm_9N9ksBY

The Stray trailer begins in an alley. The cat can climb, jump, and use its size and agility to get places outside the reach of the city's robotic inhabitants. Further scenes show off more action-oriented play, as the cat avoids hostile robots and a swarm of unfriendly grub-like creatures. Players will be able to roam the environment, seeing the world through the perspective of a cat and engaging in playful interactions with objects as well as the city's inhabitants.

For more about how the game works, the developer released a gameplay walkthrough for Stray in July 2021.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8R-splyERsI

Narrated by BlueTwelve Game Producer Swann, the walkthrough shows off gameplay from an earlier build of Stray. There the cat solves various environmental puzzles by knocking over various objects to open a path forward. The cat can use its drone buddy, B12, to interact with objects and communicate with the city's residents.

Eternights Blends Dating and Action in Early 2023

1 year 11 months ago

Eternights

The June 2022 PlayStation State of Play broadcast brought a new original game to the platform's 2023 release slate. Eternights is a new "dating action" game from Studio Sai and supported by the Kowloon Nights indie game development fund.

Check out the trailer below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkN-2gUUmc8

The Eternights trailer opens with a 2D-animated scene of a teen losing his arm. He quickly restores the severed limb, using the now-glowing arm to wield a sword and take on otherworldly monsters. Other characters use powers to engage in combat, as well. Glimpses of 2D event art, as well as 3D in-engine cutscenes are shown.

The official website lays out the premise of Eternights, saying it will "blend a love story with adrenaline driven combat as you make the most out of life during the apocalypse."

Players will face the monsters (called Infected), and manage their time and activities on a daily schedule. They'll also build relationships with five "quirky and loveable characters," but will need to balance that out with doing tasks to ensure their survival. They'll also plumb dungeons alongside their confidants in a dangerous area known as The Wall. The game will have 2D animated cutscenes that change based on a player's choices about with whom to spend time.

A developer at Studio Sai stated in a Tweet that Eternights was inspired by the Persona series.

https://twitter.com/StudioSaiGames/status/1532487123915313154

Eternights is in development. It will arrive on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC in early 2023.

Dead Space creator's sci-fi horror The Callisto Protocol is out in December

1 year 11 months ago

Dead Space creator Glen Schofield's very Dead-Space-like sci-fi horror The Callisto Protocol finally has a release date and is heading to PS4, PS5, Xbox, and PC on 2nd December this year.

The Callisto Protocol, which was officially unveiled back in December 2020, is a third-person horror game set in 2320. Its action unfolds within the confines of the Black Iron prison colony on Jupiter's moon Callisto, and - needless to say - suffocating terror and "terrifying secrets" ensue.

We've only seen a single cinematic of The Callisto Protocol since its intriguing 2020 reveal, so it's nice to finally, properly see the thing in action courtesy of its brand-new release date trailer - which includes a smattering of gameplay - below. It looks like appropriately atmospheric, deliciously icky stuff - and, yes, not entirely dissimilar to Dead Space.

Stray, PS5's Cyberpunk Cat Game, Gets a Release Date

1 year 11 months ago

Stray, the game about a cat navigating a cyberpunk city, will be released on July 19 for PS4 and PS5.

Shown at Sony's State of Play event today, the PlayStation console exclusive puts players in the furry little feet of a cat lost in a futuristic cyber city that's falling apart. Separated from its family, the cat must solve an ancient mystery and find its way home with the help of a small robot friend known as B12.

It was also announced that Stray will be on PlayStation Plus at launch for members of the "Extra" tier and above.

In a PlayStation blog post, BlueTwelve Studio producer Swann Martin-Raget reminsced on Stray's seven-year development, and the challenges that came with making a believable, playable cat:

"Trying to control a cat – whether it’s in real life or when making a video game – is definitely not a walk in the park! From the very beginning, we knew that the controls and animations of our star character needed to be absolutely spot-on in order to properly convey this exhilarating feeling of skills and movement. So Miko, our cat animator, took the challenge to heart and spent considerable time looking for images and video references. The good and somewhat surprising thing we found is this: It really seems that the whole internet was basically invented for the sole purpose of hosting loads of cute cat pictures and videos! So we ended up having a lot of very good material to work with for references."

No Man's Sky Is Getting a PlayStation VR2 Version

1 year 11 months ago

No Man's Sky is getting a PSVR2 version, and it should launch alongside Sony's new headset as a free update to the core game.

Announced during Sony's State of Play event, developer Hello Games explained that it has been secretly developing a new version of the game for PlayStation VR2. In a statement, co-founder Sean Murray said, "the power of PlayStation 5, coupled with the all-new PlayStationVR2 hardware, including the new Sense controllers, combine together to take that sense of immersion and believability up another level."

A trailer showed a number of situations from the game, with a particular focus on the player's hands controlling their ship and weaponry – presumably hinting at how the version will make use of PSVR2's hand-tracking controllers.

A%20screenshot%20from%20the%20PSVR%202%20version%20of%20No%20Man%26%2339%3Bs%20Sky.%20(Image%20credit%3A%20Hello%20Games)

The company isn't talking about any specific new features being designed for the PSVR2 version of the game, but added that, "this will be a moment for us to focus on VR players of all types." The implication appears to be that all VR versions of No Man's Sky could be due for an upgrade.

When Does Final Fantasy XVI Come Out for PS5?

1 year 11 months ago

If you’re wondering when Final Fantasy XVI comes out for PS5, Square Enix has finally announced a release window for the next chapter of the Final Fantasy series on Sony’s newest console.

When is the Release Date of Final Fantasy XVI on PS5?

We don’t have a specific release date for Final Fantasy XVI yet, but Square Enix has announced an approximate release window.

The game will launch on Sony’s next-generation console in summer 2023.

According to producer Naoki Yoshida, the game will include “high-octane battles featuring our protagonist Clive Rosfield wielding a full arsenal of attacks unique to the game’s many Eikons (summons), not to mention epic clashes between the Eikons themselves that put you right in the action.”

Will Final Fantasy XVI come out for PC or Xbox?

Final Fantasy XVI is described as a “console exclusive” so a PC version is likely. The marketing for the game also mentioned explicitly (related to the console exclusivity) that the game won’t be available on other platforms for a limited time after release, so we can assume that an Xbox release is possible at some point.

Of course, if Square Enix announces any more platforms in the future, we’ll let you know here on Twinfinite.

We’ll also keep you posted on any further reveal, trailers, and details the publisher is surely going to share over the next year before FFXVI releases.

This is all you need to know about the release date of Final Fantasy XVI on PS5, to the extent of what we know about when we’ll be able to play this exciting adventure brought by the beloved team that created Final Fantasy XIV.

How Long is Call of Duty (CoD) WW2 & How Many Missions Are There?

1 year 11 months ago

While the single-player story campaign isn’t the focus of CoD WW2, you might still be curious to know how long it’ll take you to beat it. CoD WW2 is also a little more challenging than past games in the series because of several factors like missing health regen and ammo shortage, so your completion time may vary. Here’s how long the CoD WW2 campaign is, and how many missions there are.

How Long the CoD WW2 Campaign Is

While playing on Regular difficulty, we found that the CoD WW2 campaign took around seven to eight hours to play it to completion. That being said, you’ll likely take a bit longer if you’re playing on Veteran difficulty, and the completion time is largely dependent on your own skill level as well.

CoD WW2 Mission List

There are a total of 12 missions or chapters in CoD WW2’s campaign as well, listed below:

 1. D-Day
 2. Operation Cobra
 3. Stronghold
 4. S.O.E.
 5. Liberation
 6. Collateral Damage
 7. Death Factory
 8. Hill 493
 9. Battle of the Bulge
 10. Ambush
 11. The Rhine
 12. Epilogue

However, the game has a lot more to offer outside of its single-player campaign. The online multiplayer modes are plentiful, including a brand new War mode that has two opposing teams attempting to complete specific objectives in order to win the map. The popular Nazi Zombies mode also makes a return in this entry, and it’s packed full of secrets to discover, and completing it properly will take you some time.

Final Fantasy XVI Gets Gorgeous New Screenshots, Art, & Details on Locations, Characters, & More

1 year 11 months ago

After the reveal of a new trailer and release window for Final Fantasy XVI, Square Enix followed up with screenshots, artwork, and details.

First of all, we get to see new screenshots showing beautiful environments of the game and artwork for two newly-introduced characters Hugo Kupka and Benedikta Harman, which are introduced as follows:

Hugo Kupka

Permanent Economic Adviser Hugo Kupka’s meteoric rise to prominence was sudden, if not unexpected. Once a nameless foot soldier in the Republican Army, his awakening as Dominant of the Eikon Titan thrust him to the forefront of Dhalmekian politics. It was here he used his newfound position as the most powerful man in the republic to exert influence over both the nation’s armies and its policy making—amassing a personal fortune in the process. Yet while it is said that a man who has everything wants for nothing, Benedikta Harman will teach him money and power are far from all the world has to offer.

Benedikta Harman

Having emerged from the storm of youth coldhearted and ruthless, Benedikta Harman—Dominant of the Eikon Garuda, Warden of the Wind—turned her talent for swordplay and subterfuge into a command of Waloed’s elite intelligencers. It is on a mission to find the elusive second Eikon of Fire that she crosses paths with a like-minded Clive and is forced to face her past.

On top of that, Square Enix expanded the list of well-known members of the main staff of the game.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Dyspo DLC Announced

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Dyspo DLC Announced

More Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 DLC is on the way, as Dyspo is headed to the game. He is a member of the Pride Troopers in Dragon Ball Super. He is expected to appear in Summer 2022 alongside a new Revival of the Demon Realm Extra Mission.

There’s a new trailer showing off both Dyspo and Revival of the Demon Realm. First, Dyspo is shown in action. The character is known for his speed, though he’s also adept at utilizing different sorts of Ki attacks. It seems like early in the video, Dyspo uses his Justice Kick to attack. Just after the 30 second mark, he uses his Energy Blade. After that, he performs his Circle Flash attack to finish a foe.

As for the Revival of the Demon Realm Extra Mission DLC, its teaser begins with a petrified Dabura floating through the air. He shatters it and breaks free. This also calls back to how he ended up in that state, as he blames Fu for his predicament.

Here’s the Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Dyspo DLC trailer.

As a reminder, Dyspo isn’t the only Pride Trooper in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. Jiren is there too.

Launcher Fights With Guns Blazing in DNF Duel Trailer

1 year 11 months ago

DNF Duel Launcher

The latest DNF Duel trailer focuses on Launcher, a new fighter set to join the game's roster on launch. The character is a long-range fighter capable of attacking opponents from a distance using a variety of weapons. The trailer also gives fans a glimpse at the character's move sets and playstyle.

The character was previously teased back in March 2022, towards the end of the DNF Duel release date announcement trailer. As with all previous DNF Duel characters, Launcher was originally in Dungeon Fighter Online. Interestingly, Launcher's character design bears a close resemblance to that of Mechanic, another Gunner-type character from DFO.

Despite the change in appearance, Launcher shares many of the same moves as her DFO counterpart. In addition to Gunner moves like BBQ and Marilyn Rose, Launcher will also be able to use her Quantum Bomb, Flame Pillar, Steyr AMR, and the X-1 Extruder. Furthermore, her finisher appears to be her DFO Awakening skill Ancient Trigger, where she uses a large cannon that shoots several laser beams at the enemy.

You can check out the DNF Duel Launcher gameplay trailer below:

https://youtu.be/kTbz8Ouj6z0

So far, Arc System Works has revealed 12 playable characters, including Berserker, Inquisitor, and Striker, among many others. Last month, the developer also revealed the game's story mode, gallery, and glossary.

1 year 11 months ago

Resident Evil 4 Remake Reimagined Storyline

During a PlayStation State of Play, a remake of Resident Evil 4 was announced. This featured a brief look at recreated environments, like the village seen at the start of the game, and character designs. However, Capcom has opened an official website for the Resident Evil 4 remake, which reveals that the game will also see a "reimagined" storyline. While it's clear that certain character designs have been modified for the remake, with Ashley, Ada, and Luis appearing briefly in the trailer, this won't be the only change made. [Thanks, AestheticGamer/Dusk Golem!]

The website states that the Resident Evil 4 remake will see a reimagined storyline, it will also feature more modernized gameplay elements. However, Capcom has yet to reveal how any of this will manifest. The trailer simply provided a glimpse into how the iconic starting area in Resident Evil 4 has been slightly modified for the remake.

You can take a look at screenshots of the Resident Evil 4 remake below.

Animal Crossing New Horizons: How to Get a Kitchen

1 year 11 months ago

Update 2.0 was a pretty big one for Animal Crossing New Horizons, adding in a whole bunch of features including meal preparation and an easier way to access weekly stores.

Brewster and the Roost have finally been added to the game, you can now help NPCs like Leif and Kicks set up permanent stores on Harv’s island, and you can even dabble in a bit of cooking on the side as well. Here’s how to get a kitchen in Animal Crossing New Horizons.

Getting a Kitchen in Animal Crossing New Horizons

Assuming you’ve already gotten your recipes from the Nook Stop Terminal and Nook’s Cranny, and you’ve gotten your hands on some ingredients, you’ll now need a kitchen to actually start cooking. All of the kitchen-style furniture items in the game will now function similarly to workbenches, where you can use your ingredients to cook food from DIY Recipes that you’ve already learned.

This means that items like the system kitchen, the kitchen island, the stone kitchen, and theclay furnace will allow you to cook food. Most kitchens are furniture items that you have to get through Nook’s Cranny or as a surprise gift from shooting down balloons in the air.

Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War will have a vinyl soundtrack in September 2022

A vinyl soundtrack of Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War will appear in late September 2022. Bandai Namco is working with Universal Music Japan to release a double vinyl set containing tracks from the 2006 PlayStation 2 game. The webpage detailing the soundtrack on the Japanese website also has an English segment.

The package will contain two 12-inch black vinyl records and an 8-page full-color booklet. The latter will include commentaries from the game's composers in Japanese and English. Keiki Kobayashi, Tetsukazu Nakanishi, Hiroshi Okubo, and Junichi Nakatsuru comprised the Ace Combat Zero soundtrack team.

A partial track list on the page confirms that the Ace Combat Zero vinyl soundtrack will include "Glacial Skies," "Contact," "The Round Table," "Hresvelgr," and "Zero." The last song, known for its combination of orchestra and flamenco guitar, is played during the game's climactic battle.

Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War originally appeared on the PlayStation 2 in 2006. In early 2020, Bandai Namco released the game's soundtrack on digital platforms, such as Spotify.

Final Fantasy XIV Lyses Leadership Attire

Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XIV players will now have the opportunity to obtain Lyse Hext's attire from Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood through the online store. Players can purchase Lyse's Leadership Attire through the Final Fantasy XIV Online Store for $15.00. It will come not only with the vibrant scarlet outfit, but also with Lyse's hairstyle as it first appeared in the Stormblood expansion. However, there are some caveats to the outfit.

Firstly, the outfit will only be available to redeem on a single character per purchase. This means that if you would like to have the outfit on multiple characters, you will need to buy the outfit multiple times. Additionally, Lyse's Leadership Attire is gender-locked. Only female characters will be able to wear the outfit and use the hairstyle. The store page also mentions that the gear may appear differently depending on the player character's race and that clipping may occur when worn with certain other gear.

You can take a look at the Final Fantasy XIV Lyse's Leadership Attire below.

Admire The Beautiful Landscapes Of Final Fantasy 16 In These New Screenshots

Final Fantasy XVI Release Date Screenshots

You have Final Fantasy XVI on the brain if you’re anything like me. This game, which Square Enix’s Creative Business Unit III studio is developing, has admittedly been on my mind since Square Enix revealed it in 2020. However, it’s especially front and center today after the FF XVI trailer that aired during yesterday’s State of Play

That trailer featured new looks at gameplay, more information about the warring kingdoms, including the Empire, surrounding the story, and the key figures at the heart of it all. Yesterday’s trailer highlighted these characters because they seem to have the ability to transform into completely, or at least embody, the primals or summons seen throughout the Final Fantasy franchise – primals and summons such as Ifrit, Bahamut, Odin, Shiva, and more. Following that trailer, Square Enix has uploaded some new screenshots of the beautiful landscapes in FF XVI we’ll be trekking across, and they look fantastic. Check them out for yourself below:
