Building outposts in Starfield is an enjoyable and efficient means of allocating an incredible variety of resources that you can put toward other tasks such as research, upgrades, etc. As you have a limited number of beacons to place, knowing the best spots in the galaxy to get the most precious materials is part of the challenge. You have to find a planet or moon with plenty of those resources, and if you can find a practical cross-section area to tap those veins, then you may very well hit a jackpot.

As it turns out, that’s exactly what a Starfield player named ‘antiapathetic’ managed to pull off very recently, probably to the highest degree that the game allows. In a post on Reddit, they shared their undoubtedly very “satisfying” discovery of an outpost locale on Tirna VIII-C that yielded them a whopping eight different resources, literally including every single one the moon has to offer.

Moonstone Island has piqued the interest of gamers for making an ambitious attempt to combine the beloved farming and building core aspects of a life-sim game with monster catching and collecting, referred to by many at first glance as a Stardew Valley and old-school Pokemon crossover. Furthermore, the world in which you explore is procedurally generated, which means the islands you discover are unique to your playthrough, and no two players will have the same experience.

I know I’m not alone in spending an unhealthy amount of time daydreaming about just what would happen if we ever discovered that we weren’t alone in the universe. First contact narratives are one of my favorites in science fiction, and the promise of traveling the stars to seek out alien life was one of the things which had me most excited about playing Starfield.

In a move few could have predicted, the two-year-old RPG Tales of Arise just got a teaser for a DLC titled Beyond the Dawn during September’s State of Play.

Bandai Namco has been silent regarding an all-new Tales entry of late, but alas, it was an expansion and not a sequel they had in the pipes, to be released on November 9, 2023.

The rumors were true! As part of the latest PlayStation State of Play livestream, it has been confirmed that Resident Evil 4 Remake will be receiving the long-awaited Separate Ways DLC on September 21.

First introduced in the 2005 original, Separate Ways is an additional series of chapters starring the mysterious agent, Ada Wong. The events would run parallel to Leon’s campaign, offering insight into some hitherto unexplained moments, such as who rings the church bell that calls off the villagers’ initial onslaught (unless of course, that person happens to be you).

Thanks to a Nexus Mods uploader by the name of cacon50, you can now play as Ryan Gosling in the PC version of Starfield. It is a character preset mod that you can load into your game to achieve your new (or pre-existing) ambition of being Noah Calhoun, Jacob Palmer, Sebastian Wilder, or any other Gosling character you fancy imagining.

Starfield’s Steam Deck debut certainly had a rough start, as multiple players have issued their concerns with its low FPS rate. Fortunately, the modding community is here to save the day thanks to NexusMods user TheHybred’s creation, which finally stabilizes the frame rate and enhances its performance all around.

The SteamDeckHQ has tested out the newest feature, “Steam Deck Essentials,” explaining how the mod allows them to reach a decent performance rate at 30 FPS. As you travel across the galaxies, you’ll often find yourself snapping a few pictures of the magnificent planets and beloved companions. To my surprise, the photos I’ve taken (good or bad) aren’t simply tossed into the Photo Gallery to never be seen again but rather put up for display with each passing loading screen. Given that there are plenty of load times for Starfield’s massive universe, this feature could be a lot more tedious through other means, and yet, I actually enjoy seeing all these random photos I’ve collected. It makes the experience much more personal instead of primarily using premade ones.

The Xbox Series X is already a rather nice-looking minimalist monolith, but that’s not going to suit everybody’s tastes.
