Second Dinner Reassures Fans Marvel Snap Won’t Be Affected by Nuverse’s Dissolution

4 months 3 weeks ago

This past weekend, TikTok creators ByteDance revealed that they were winding down Nuverse and retreat from the mainstream gaming space. According to a report from Reuters, ByteDance is restructuring their gaming business, and employees will be told to stop working on unreleased games, while the company looks to divest from titles that have already been launched.

As the publisher of Marvel Snap, Nuverse’s dissolution may come as a source of concern for fans, many of whom have likely already spent a significant amount of money on the digital card battler. However, Second Dinner has since taken to Discord to reassure fans that this will not affect the game in any way, shape, or form.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on PC

Call of Duty is a household franchise that has spanned the course of two decades and has often breached into the mainstream like no other video game. Its highest highs are matched with some lowest of lows but with the brand new release of Modern Warfare 3, we want to see if it can match juggernauts like Black Ops 1 or flounder with Vanguard.

So first let’s talk about the Campaign. At the risk of sounding dramatic or hyperbolic, the Modern Warfare 3 Campaign may just be the one of, if not the worst Campaigns in the history of the series.

Lethal Company Players Discover that the Game’s So Much Better With Gangnam Style In It

4 months 4 weeks ago

Developed by Zeekerss, Lethal Company is the latest multiplayer horror indie hit on Steam. Its explosion in popularity quickly led to it surpassing Phasmophobia in terms of peak concurrent players, and needless to say, the fun mods are already pouring in.

Reddit user u/boheaa posted a clip on the forum showing off the custom boombox music mod for the game, and while it’s simple in premise, it also makes the game that much more goofy and funny. The mod in question does exactly what it says on the box: it lets you play custom music on the in-game boombox, which players can carry around the map.

Lethal Company Officially Surpasses Phasmophobia in Peak Concurrent Players

Kinetic Games’ ghostbusting horror game released during the height of COVID-19 and quickly took over as one of Steam’s biggest games of the year, but that crown has officially been passed over to Lethal Company.

Second Dinner Promises More Updates on Marvel Snap Series Drops this Year

4 months 4 weeks ago

Ask any Marvel Snap player what they think about Series drops, and it’ll quickly become clear that this is a pretty contentious topic within the community. When Series 4 and 5 were first introduced to the game, Second Dinner had stated that Series 5 cards would drop to Series 4 after a set amount of time.

However, they quickly reneged on this statement and implemented a flexible Series drop system, where new cards would occasionally release in Series 4, and Series drops would happen as and when it made sense. With that in mind, we haven’t seen a proper Series drop in more than half a year, and naturally, the community is getting pretty pissed off about it.

We Need to Talk About Persona 5 Tactica’s Dialogue Problem

4 months 4 weeks ago

It’s no surprise that the newest Persona spin-off is pretty dang dialogue-heavy. The high concentration of story and character dialogue is what I and so many others love about the series. But no amount of fandom could blind me to just how longwinded Persona 5 Tactica‘s dialogue can be. I’ll explain why the game’s dialogue feels heavy-handed at times, and what can be done to rectify it in future entries.

Lastly, this is no mere spin-off fatigue setting in; at least I don’t think it is. There are real problems inherent in some of the dialogue that cripples the flow of an otherwise brilliant tactics game.

Destiny 2: Why Season 23’s Dragon’s Breath Heavy Exotic Will Be Amazing for Scorch Builds

Dragon’s Breath is a weapon that had humble beginnings in Destiny 1 before being revamped and now returning this year to Destiny 2 with further sweeping changes. So, here’s why Season 23’s Dragon’s Breath Heavy Exotic will be Amazing for Scorch Builds.

Destiny 1 was neat because rocket launchers didn’t always have only one rocket in the chamber. Sometimes, you would find a rocket launcher that could shoot two rockets at a time. Enter Dragon’s Breath and its chamber that could hold three rockets. But that’s not all because Dragon’s Breath’s munitions would leave behind a solar flare that acts much like Destiny 2’s Solar Grenade.

Modern Warfare 3 Zombies Is a Wholesome Experience That I Never Knew I Needed

If there were two words I would have never that could be together, it would probably be “zombies” and “wholesome.” Yet, Call of Duty’s most rendition somehow makes it happen, as I find my heart getting full with each passing deadly match.

Now, you may wonder: What makes Modern Warfare 3 Zombies so wholesome? Well, it all comes down to the latest PvE experience that no longer pits other players against each other to formulate more team-based mechanics. I’ll admit I had a rough time playing DMZ with my constant run-ins with enemy Operators, ultimately leaving me resourceless and embarrassed for trusting them.

Why Destiny 2 Needs A New Enemy Faction More Than Ever

Destiny 2 players haven’t seen a new enemy faction since the Forsaken expansion over five years ago. There is a reason why players hold Forsaken as a prime example of what an expansion should be, and that reason is why Destiny 2 needs a new enemy faction more than ever.

Every year since Forsaken, players have been clamoring for a new race of foes to challenge themselves against. Unfortunately, for the past five years, we have had nothing but reskinned versions of what we’ve been battling against since the start of Destiny 1. At this point, I’m sure some of the community would even enjoy another kind of Taken faction that takes the enemies we know and fundamentally changes them to feel very different. Sadly, none of that has been or looks to be a thing.

Super Mario RPG Review – The Enemy of My Enemy…

Super Mario RPG on Switch

When you’ve been rehashing the same ol’ conflict for so long, things tend to get a little bit stale. You start to recognize the familiar beats. Peach gets kidnapped, Bowser tries to marry her, Mario saves the day. What better way to freshen things up than by completely cutting Bowser’s castle in half in the opening of Super Mario RPG, and introducing a whole new threat that all parties now have to deal with? As the old adage goes, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, and having Bowser and Mario team up against a new face is incredibly charming.

The premise really is that simple. Things have gone awfully wrong in the Mushroom Kingdom. Peach goes missing after Bowser’s castle gets destroyed, and Mario quickly befriends new allies Mallow and Geno. The former is a marshmallow-looking dude who swears he’s a frog, while the latter is some sort of being who descended from the cosmos and is looking to collect seven stars to help battle the new threat, Smithy.

For All Its Flaws, Like a Dragon Gaiden Gives Us a Glimpse at the Real Kiryu

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is, to put it bluntly, not the best Yakuza or Like a Dragon game out there and certainly not the best adventure we’ve seen Kiryu star in.

While admittedly a budget entry in the series more in line with a large-scale expansion or DLC offering, it’s not without some notable gaps. Its gameplay can get repetitive fast if players try to dig into the side content, and its story is substantially smaller than in most modern entries. It’s even host to a handful of localization errors, which definitely says something given the series’ track record of meticulously translating or modifying jokes and word play from Japanese to English.
