3 years 2 months ago

With the Japanese closed beta of Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis, a ton of gameplay has surfaced.

Below you can check out the opening cutscene, an extensive look at the character creation, and lots of battle and exploration.

The videos come courtesy of YouTube users 無言あするなゲーム放送, 夜刀神のお部屋【YATO-_-GAMI】, 猫田なつな / Natsuna Nukota, and
ラベンディー.

There’s a ton more on YouTube, so this is simply a selection. If you want to see more, you can check them out here.

The game certainly looks good. Here we go.

On top of the videos provided by users, we also get a couple from the official community Twitter account Rappy.Commu, showing a couple of… shiny character creator options and a giant enemy DOLL named Daityl.

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis will come for the same platforms as Phantasy Star Online 2 which in the west is (for now) Xbox and PC, while in Japan it will release for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

If you want to see more, you can check out the latest official gameplay, more from just before Christmasand the previously-released footage and see how much the game has improved since then.

Recently, we also got to see a glimpse at the new engine that will provide a fresh coat of paint for the original Phantasy Star Online 2, bringing it closer to the standard that Sega is going to set with New Genesis.
