When Bulletstorm debuted in 2011, the explosive first-person shooter impressed players with its no-holds-barred action gameplay. The FPS was also a product of its time, as it was both unabashedly crass and bombastic. So when I first heard about Bulletstorm VR, I was excited to see how the game's over-the-top campaign would translate to virtual reality.

Upon diving into the game for the first time, Bullestorm VR gives players many customization options to shape their in-game experience. For instance, those worried about motion sickness can use the "snap" camera, which allows you to turn your vision in small increments. Though I personally preferred the "smooth" camera as it's, in my opinion, more immersive. It feels like you are really standing in the game's world.

During the special program for Version 4.4 of Genshin Impact, HoYoVerse revealed an upcoming collaboration between it and Sushiro. This collaboration will only be in Japan.

The collaboration event will start from February 2024 and it features Gorou and Kokomi. There will be limited edition menu items that draw from the image of Genshin Impact characters. The stores will also feature decorations and sell merchandise based on the game. More information on the Genshin Impact Sushiro menu will appear later.

As for Kokomi and Gorou, they’re wearing casual outfits so they look like two youths on their way to Sushiro rather than workers there. The outfits are red and white, which is likely a reference to Sushiro’s logo. The Pizza Hut collaboration featuring Ningguang and Yelan took a similar stance when it came to their designs, whereas the KFC collaboration with Diluc and Noelle made them look like workers in the restaurants.

The Last of Us Part 2 has one of the best, though admittedly controversial, game storylines of all time, and there's one that hits incredibly hard. A moment between Ellie and Joel makes the whole game for me.

The pivotal moment happens during the flashback during the final scene of The Last of Us Part 2. After coming home to the cleared out farmhouse, Ellie picks up her guitar. However, she finds she can no longer effectively play due to her missing fingers. A flashback of her last conversation with Joel begins, giving her a chance to relive the night prior to his death.

After his public embarrassment by a frustrated Ellie at the Jackson dance, Joel plays his guitar on his porch. Ellie approaches, and the two share some awkward small talk about coffee. Joel then moves the subject to Dina and the nature of Ellie's feelings for her.

After 14 years of tight Metroidvania platforming and 8 years after the release of the last entry, the Momodora series is coming to an end with Momodora: Moonlit Farewell. It is always a bittersweet experience when the final game in a beloved series is out. Developers Bombservice are well aware of this, and with Momodora: Moonlit Farewell they crafted a simple and beautiful final love letter to fans of the series.

The Momodora series has always been light on its story, and Moonlit Farewell is no exception. The game is set 5 years after the events of Momodora III. We play as Momo Reinol, a high priestess of Koho Village entrusted with fighting back against a demon invasion, as well as to recover the bell used to summon them. For those that haven’t played other Momodora games or were introduced to the series with 2016’s Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight, this final game is designed to be enjoyed by those just getting into the series or following after the spin-off. To make matters easier, the game includes various files that summarize the events of the first three games and the spin-off.

The Pokemon manga Snorlax’s Dream Gourmet has started serialization. You can read it on Twitter (X) and Instagram.

The story starts with Kumura, a researcher, showing off her new invention while something that looks like a protein bar is in her mouth. Her childhood friend Kanmi scolds her for her eating habits. Kumura’s machine lets her look into a Pokemon’s dream, and she attaches a Snorlax to it. The Snorlax’s dream implies that it wants to eat sludge rice so Kumura gets a Muk to slime all over a bowl of rice, which the Snorlax eats happily. This excites Kumura, since it proves that her machine works.

Carmine is one of the many new characters introduced in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC and appears in both The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk. However, her role is often as a minor antagonist, and she might deserve something more.

Before we hop into whether or not Carmine needs a redemption arc, it is important to look at her role in the story. Carmine is the older sister of Kieran and a student at Blueberry Academy. She is from Mossui Town in Kitakami and we meet her at the beginning of The Teal Mask. She is the first trainer we battle with and initially appears to be an important character.

During the special program for Version 4.4 of Genshin Impact, HoYoVerse revealed that it's collaborating with OnePlus yet again to release a customized Keqing phone. HoYoVerse will announce more information on it, such as pricing and release date, in the near future.

There aren’t many details about the phone just yet. The marketing phrase on the key visual says, “Exceed the speed of lightning,” which implies that the Genshin Impact Keqing collaboration phone with OnePlus will have speed as its selling point. This might also just be a reference to how Keqing has very quick battle animations, and both her Skill and her Burst accentuate her speed by making it look like she teleports around as a zip of lightning.

Burn the Witch always offered an interesting take on another aspect of the Bleach universe, with Witches Ninny Spangcole and Noel Niihashi as they deal with Dragons in Reverse London. However, while it is fantastic to see them again in Burn the Witch #0.8, it really feels like this anime OVA isn’t enough.

If you already read the manga Viz Media localized, all of this will look familiar to you. Instead of continuing from the original film, this is a half-hour look at Ninny and Noel in action on Crunchyroll. Namely, it focuses on their encounter and mission involving Osushi the dog and Balgo, a young man Noel knows. Due to the involvement of a Dragon, it is up to the two to deal with the new threat to Front and Reverse London. 

Danganronpa series creator Kazutaka Kodaka recently talked about Too Kyo Games’ upcoming unannounced new game on X (formerly Twitter) and revealed he’s becoming “obsessed” with it. The developer also said that the announcement and release of this game are not too far away.

The new game that Kazutaka Kodaka mentioned in his post is the game that he and Kotaro Uchikoshi started working on in 2018. The original post includes hashtags for the Japanese words “Limit” and “Despair,” which are the two themes that the developers said the title will explore. The post in question was shared on Kodaka’s personal X account.

Dengeki Bunko announced the release of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 official art book on April 1, 2024. The book costs 4,400 yen (or about $30) and is now available for pre-order from Amazon Japan, which offers overseas shipping. [Thanks, PR Times!]

Under the full title of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Official Artwork Aionios Moments, the art book will be 448 pages long. It will include materials from both the main Xenoblade Chronicles 3 game as well as the Future Redeemed DLC expansion. The cover art features a new illustration of protagonists Noah and Mio drawn by character artist Masatsugu Saito, and you can take a look at it here:

Taito announced that new a new line of NieR Automata plushies of 2B and 9S, accompanied by their pods, will appear as game center prizes. There are three different types of plushies with some variations, and they are expected to release around mid-January 2024.

The first items in the new prize collection are standalone plushies of 2B and 9S. They are considerate separate prizes, and each has two variations. One features the character wearing their combat visor, and the other one without it. Each plush is approximately 20cm (or 7.9 inches) tall.

Meanwhile, the pod version of the NieR Automata plushies are all considered the same prize. The size of these mascot plushies is slightly smaller at 16cm (or 6.3 inches) tall. There are four variations, with these being character 2B floating using their Pod with and without her visor, and the same variations for 9S.

When I first heard about Palworld, my reaction was confusion. On the surface, it’s an open world Pokemon clone. Cool, give the people what they want. However, the trailer showed creatures using guns, as well as creatures working an assembly line mass producing those guns. Oh, and there’s a farm everyone’s happily working on too, I guess. There is a lot going on here, and I’m not sure it all makes sense.

I have now gotten my hands on the game in Early Access and thankfully it’s a lot more straightforward than it initially seems. That said, its identity is still strange.

Let’s start with the basics. Despite appearances, Palworld isn’t primarily a Pokemon clone. You don’t play as a plucky kid who’s about to head off into the world on an adventure. You instead play as a nameless avatar who washes up on a beach with nothing to their name. That includes clothes, as you strut about in only a few rags to preserve your modesty.

Square Enix announced it will hold a Final Fantasy VII Rebirth event in London, England. It will take place at 6pm local time on January 26, 2024.

This is going to be a free event, however it already “sold out” on Eventbrite. It will consist of a photo op, refreshments, and an opportunity  to meet and get autographs from the Producer Yoshinori Kitase and Director Naoki Hamaguchi. There will also apparently be a Q&A segment, as the announcement page noted people could get a chance to ask them questions.

As a reminder, Kitase has been involved with the Final Fantasy series since Final Fantasy V for the SNES. He’s been involved with multiple Final Fantasy VII games ahead of Rebirth, including the original, Before Crisis: FFVII, Crisis Core: FFVII, Dirge of Cerberus: FFVII, and the 2020 remake. Meanwhile, Hamaguchi worked as a co-director on the first entry in this remake trilogy and on Crisis Core: FFVII Reunion. 

It isn’t uncommon for Square Enix to host events like these ahead of or around releases of its games. For example, it held a Paws of Valisthea event in Darlinghurst, Australia ahead of Final Fantasy XVI. 

Hours after its debut on Steam Early Access, Pocketpair announced that Palworld downloads already passed one million on social media. The game debuted on January 18, 2024 on PCs via Steam and the Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

Here’s the official announcement, which included a piece of celebratory art with a number of Pals. The developer noted it only took about eight hours for it to reach that milestone.

In addition to the downloads milestone, a quick check on SteamDB as of 12pm ET on January 19, 2024 showed Palworld is the third most-played title on Steam at the moment. Its current concurrents at the time of writing were 362,396, with the all-time peak noted as being 370,128. It was just below Counterstrike 2 and DOTA 2, but ended up beating out titles like PUBG, Apex Legends, GTA V, and Baldur's Gate 3.

AYANEO opened an Indiegogo campaign for a Retro Mini PC AM02 and it already passed its goal, passing over $62,585 at time of writing. The early bird price is $439, with the pledge on the site being $441, and it is expected to ship in February 2024.

The goal of this line of PCs is to create small systems that resemble retro gaming consoles. In this case, a front “lid” can be lifted to show and access all of its ports. It also has buttons on the top where a console’s “power” and “reset” buttons would be. 

Here’s a trailer showing off the Retro Mini PC AM02 in action. It offers a better sense of its size and scope, which is designed to resemble something like an NES, as well as shows how the display screen on the top looks. 

The life-size Psyduck plush will make its return in Japan. The Japanese Pokemon Center Online store has opened a new pre-order batch for the large plush that first appeared in 2020. The item has a price tag of 30,800 yen, or around $207.50 with the exchange rate on January 19, 2024.

The Psyduck plush will have an overall height of around 80 cm (31 inches / 2'07"), which is accurate to the Pokemon's listing in the Pokedex. The plush will also have an overall width of 57 cm (~22.44 in) and depth of 75 cm (~29.5 in). But while the original Psyduck would weigh 19.6 kg / 43.2 lbs, this plush will have a lighter weight at just 4.1 kg / 9 lbs. The newly restocked plush is being made in Vietnam with polyester for the exterior and polyurethane foam, EVA, and polypropylene for the insides.

When the life-size Psyduck plush originally appeared in 2020, it was available to order in both Japan and North America. However, the new restock so far seems to only apply in Japan. As of January 19, 2024, the originally Chinese-made $279.99 plush is still listed as "Out of stock" on the English Pokemon Center web store.

The Ten Count Production Committee announced through its social media and official website that the Ten Count anime movie has been canceled. The Ten Count animated film was slated to release in theaters in 2023, but missed its release window.

The production committee stated that due to production reasons, they had to cancel the the Ten Count anime film. The film was originally planned to be developed by East Fish Studio and SynergySP. East Fish Studio is known for its in-between animation, key animation, and contract animation support work on various series like Tokyo Ghoul: re, Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, Black Clover, and Pokemon. SynergySP has worked on series like Mr. Villain's Day Off, Beyblade, Hayato the Combat Butler, and Initial D Fifth Stage.

Now that Another Code: Recollection is available for the Nintendo Switch, Arc System Works confirmed it developed the collection of games. It brought it up on its official social media account, along with a link to the official Japanese site for the remakes.

Pocketpair announced that a new Palworld hotfix is live, with the patch making the game playable for those who experienced a bug involving a black screen. The developer’s announcement noted it repairs a network environment issue.

Here’s the official announcement. There are no patch notes for this update. It also seems that the only thing being addressed in this hotfix patch is the Palworld black screen bug. Pocketpair also didn’t go into why the problem happened in the first place.

As a reminder, Palworld entered early access on January 18, 2024. As such, bugs and issues are to be expected due to the title being in development. It is a survival game with monster catching and taming elements. By using Pal Spheres to catch Pals, you can have the creatures assist in gathering resources or taking part in gunfights. 

Capcom has revealed that it will release Ed as the third post-release character for Street Fighter 6 in February 2024. The company confirmed the new release window—narrowed from Winter 2024—by uploading a new teaser trailer featuring the fighter.

The trailer also shows a glimpse of Ed's fighting style. He primarily fights with a boxing style, but he can also imbue his punches with Psycho Power. Ed also uses the power to pull his opponent and prevent him from hitting a bystander in the trailer.

HoYoverse released a new Honkai: Star Rail trailer, this time teasing a team of upcoming antagonists (and potentially playable characters) known as the Annihilation Gang. Titled "A Night of Ever-Flame," the video features Ifrit the Duke Inferno introducing his fellow members Akash, Dubra, Caterina and Constance. The characters also appear in a set of posters released on Hoyolab and Twitter.

The Annihilation Gang in Honkai: Star Rail is a faction that follows the Aeon Nanook of the path of Destruction. Their leader is Ifrit the Duke Inferno, and he briefly appeared in the recent Crown of the Mundane and Divine story update. The other members include musician Akash, the ghostly puppeteer Dubra, the aggressive Caterina, and Constance, who wears a white dress and hat adorned with a Dahlia flower. Each of these members appears to oppose a different path in the name of Destruction. So Caterina is instructed to "shatter the Preservation's sanctum".

The handheld gaming device is booming these days, and manufacturer AYANEO certainly isn't stopping that with its new Remake line of quirky, nostalgic form factors. We asked CEO Arthur Zhang about the plans for Remake and their plans for supporting all these new devices.

The new characters who’ll appear in Version 4.4 will be Xianyun (Cloud Retainer) and Gaming. Xiao, Yae Miko, and Nahida will have their re-run banners as well. There will also be a new story quest that focuses on Xianyun.

It is once again the time for free Genshin Impact Primogem codes, this time for the Special Program 4.4. All of them are available to use on January 19, 2024.

Throughout the course of a Special Program, HoYoVerse always releases three Genshin Impact codes. Each one is accompanied by art from the new update. When redeemed, people get 100 Primogems and some helpful in-game items. In total, people end up with 300 Primogems, 5 Hero’s Wits, 10 Mystic Enhancement Ores, and 50,000 Mora. So you get a single pull on the gacha, since that is 160 Primogems, but it’s easy enough to get the additional 20 from daily missions to get a second pull.

During the Genshin Impact Version 4.4 special program, HoYoVerse revealed the upcoming line-up of characters to pull from. Xianyun and Gaming will make their playable debuts, while Nahida, Xiao, and Yae Miko banners will be re-run.

Xianyun will be a five-star Anemo catalyst character. Her kit focuses on Plunging Attacks. Not only can she activate them even without climbing to a high spot, she can allow other characters to use them at will. In practice, it looks similar to the Dragon Strike technique. Her Burst can also heal the party while increasing how high a character can jump. When a character uses a Plunging Attack in this state, they’ll deal AoE Anemo DMG. The special program also showed how HoYoVerse developed Xianyun’s design and kit.

Wendy’s in Japan will have a collaboration event with Persona 3 Reload. It’ll start on February 1, 2024 and run until February 29, 2024.

During this period of time, you’ll be able to get limited edition collaboration menu items, which come with boxes depicting Persona 3 Reload characters. If you order the limited edition lemon salt fries, you’ll be able to get a clear folder. There are ten variants, each depicting a SEES member. However, you can’t choose which one you get. So if you're aiming for a particular character, you might have to go buy the fries several times.

Crunchyroll has announced that Demon Slayer: To the Hashira Training will appear in theaters from February 21, 2024. This will be a compilation movie of the Swordsmith Village Arc, and it will also show a sneak peek at the upcoming Hashira Training Arc.

Malta is the only country that’ll actually have the movie from February 21, 2024. Here is the global theatrical release schedule:

A new trailer appeared for Visions of Mana, which will launch in Summer 2024. The gameplay reveal trailer aired during the January 18, 2024 Xbox’s Developer Direct.

At almost seven minutes long, the Visions of Mana trailer shows a lot of information, from details about the development of the title to how it’ll play. You can watch the video here:

At the beginning of the video, it shows the origins of the Mana series, as well as what makes it special. According to Square Enix, the team is taking everything it’s learned over the years to create Visions of Mana. The video then shows pikuls, which are giant wolf-like mounts that you can ride. According to the monster designer, the pikul design is a combination of a Yorkshire terrier, a pangolin, and Anubis the Egyptian god. He made the design cute so that the pikul can double as a mascot for the game.

Sunrise and Sanrio are collaborating on a series of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom illustrations featuring Sanrio characters. Two previous illustrations had been released, focusing on Kira, Cinnamoroll, Lacus, My Melody, and Haro, and the latest one features Athrun with Hello Kitty. (Thanks, Oricon!)

To celebrate the release of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom in theaters this month, Sanrio has released these brand new illustrations featuring the lead characters from the upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam film in the style of the film's animation and in a stylized form.

In the stylized artwork featuring Kira and Cinnamoroll, the two are shown to be battle-ready as they smile. In the artwork featuring Lacus and My Melody, My Melody is shown giving Lacus a rose. In the artwork featuring Athrun with Hello Kitty, the two are shown to have their hands up while posing.

Additional illustrations featuring the film's characters with Sanrio characters will be released over the next few days. The three released illustrations can be viewed in the gallery below:

Premium Collectibles Studio announced three versions of a Street Fighter Chun-Li powerlifting figure, each priced at $589.50 following a 10% pre-order discount. They all are expected to ship sometime between August and October 2024.

Each of the three Chun-Li figures is a limited edition item and is based on one of the costumes the character wears in Street Fighter games. Each one is 1/4 scale and stands at 14.25 inches tall and 22.25 inches long.  The Classic Ex and Alpha Ex variants are both limited to 250 units each, while only 150 of the Battle Ex version will be released. Each one will also include a print with art based on the figure’s pose. 

For each figure, Chun-Li is wearing a slightly different outfit and has different hairstyles. The Classic version has white buns with fabrick over them, while those buns are braids with yellow ribbons for the Alpha version. Her hair is long with two braids for the Battle Ex one. The Battle Ex version is also the only one in which she’s wearing shorts instead of pants. All three have her lifting 360lbs, with a drink bottle on the floor in front of her.

SuperGroupies announced that the retailer is now selling Frieren cosplay like merchandise inspired by the elf’s trunk, earrings, and outfit in its online storefront. All three items in the collection are expected to ship in June 2024, and worldwide shipping is available.

The three Frieren items are a long wallet inspired by her outfit, a smartphone case and wallet bag that looks like the trunk that she carries, and replicas of her earrings. The trunk bag and wallet are ¥15,400 each (~$104), while the pierced and clip-on versions of the earrings are ¥8,800 (~$60) each.

Here’s a closer look at all three items. Of the pieces in the collection, the earrings especially could be used by people putting together Frieren cosplay.

Puzzle making company Yanoman produced a new line of Kingdom Hearts puzzles that have been made with cold foil printing, giving the illustrations by series creator Tetsuya Nomura a metallic shine that makes the puzzle pieces more vibrant. The puzzles are available for purchase from Yanoman's website for 1,650 (~$11 USD).

Yanoman has created three different petite puzzles based on the iconic artwork from Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Chain of Memories, and Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix+. Each petite puzzle is 16.5 x 21.5 cm in size and is comprised of 300 pieces. Yanoman describes the puzzle as being easy to put together, and that its small size makes it easy to display on a table top after it has been assembled.

Pathea Games took to Steam to explain how the developer will handle My Time at Sandrock loading time and character story issues brought up by players. In each case, the team is working on updates to fix problems and add more content to the game.

In the case of the My Time at Sandrock loading times, Pathea noted that changes were already applied to consoles and PCs. The example offered on steam noted PC HDD loading times are now about 70 seconds long, as opposed to the previous 120 second loads. It also noted people who have been playing longer will see the most difference.

As for the My Time at Sandrock character story quests, the team announced more are on the way. It specifically cited more endgame ones tied to love interests that will be available after marriage. It also noted an upcoming update will have two Owen questlines. 

The last part of the update had to do with lighting visual effects that affected the way some people and locations looked. It blamed the move from build-in pipeline to universal render pipeline during the porting process and is handling location issues one-by-one. As for the characters, it noted it will adjust facial shadows to create “fewer random shadows.”

HoYoVerse announced the latest web event for Genshin Impact is now live, and this time the theme is cleaning up landmarks in Fontaine. The event will last until January 24, 2024 and will award players a total of 200 Primogems for completing all the tasks.

Players can earn stamina for the event by completing missions like logging in daily or clicking Youtube links, or for completing commissions in the main game of Genshin Impact. This stamina can be spent to unlock new cleaning stages, which require you to use a power washing tool to clean various landmarks in the Fontaine region. Completing stages will award Primogems, as well as wastewater that can be redeemed for Cleanup Reputation and, eventually, more Primogems. Players can also share link codes to friends who haven't logged in to Genshin Impact within 14 days to obtain 80 Primogems each.

The game is also collaborating with the Tokyo Skytree in Japan, where visitors will be able to take photos with character standees or buy special merchandise and food items.

The SuperGroupies Persona 5 Royal jacket borrows elements of Joker's phantom thief outfit, featuring a single-breasted collar with brushed metallic buttons, a removable gray inner layer that replicates the turtleneck shirt Joker wears, and an inner tag that replicates the "Take Your Heart" calling card. When the removable inner layer is attached to the jacket, it can be zipped up, and while removed the jacket can be buttoned.

Good Smile Company opened pre-orders for its upcoming figma of Ciel from Tsukihime -A Piece of Blue Glass Moon-. People residing in the US and Canada can place orders for the action figure on Good Smile Online Shop US, while those living elsewhere worldwide can instead order from its Japanese global web store.

The figma will be available in two different versions. The regular edition will be available at ¥9,800 / $64.99. It will come with a pair of hands holding the Black Key swords and three facial expression plates for Ciel that range from serious to blushing.

People will have a second chance to snag the Yu-Gi-Oh Dark Magician Girl Nendoroid, as Good Smile announced it is now accepting pre-orders for a rerun of the product. The Nendoroid originally appeared back in March 2021.

This figure will be available for either $45.99 or ¥6,900, depending on which storefront you visit. She comes with extra parts including her wand, a magical blast effect, a magic circle, a Kuriboh, and a summoning flute. She also comes with two faceplates for a change in expression. Shipping from the US store is expected to happen sometime in Q4 2024, while global shop orders are expected to begin in May 2024.

Toshimichi Mori revealed that he is producing a new 3D action game at Studio Flare. The former BlazBlue series producer has also shared three new key visuals for the game. They show that the new game will take place in a world that has both futuristic cities and natural landscapes.

Hololive EN Myth Vtuber Kiara Takanashi took to social media to announce she’ll be taking a break for “about three weeks.” This is to allow her a break for health purposes due to feeling burnt out.

Kiara brought up that due to the nature of the job at Hololive, even when she’s taken time off she’s thought about work until now. She described this three week break as a chance to “detox.” However, she also noted that while she will be pausing her activities, there will still be videos on her channel “almost every day.”
