Square Enix revealed its plans for the next set of Final Fantasy XIV content updates, including FFXIV Patch 6.2. It will appear in late August 2022. Before that arrives, the next patch for Final Fantasy XIV, Patch 6.18, will launch on July 5, 2022. It's bringing with it previously detailed features like Data Center Travel, as well as expansions to the game's server architecture and infrastructure.

When it FFXIV 6.2 does appear, it will introduce new Main Scenario quests, as well as a substantial amount of new content for players to experience. The patch is titled "Buried Memory" in English. The main scenario additions will continue the game's "Newfound Adventure" quest line, the post-Endwalker storyline that began in Patch 6.1. To tease developments, Producer Naoki Yoshida showed off a couple of screenshots. The first showed the Warrior of Light, Estinien, Y'shtola, and Varshahn meeting with Cid. The second showed a new being, which may be considered a spoiler for Endwalker.

FFXIV Patch 6.2 will also continue the "Tataru's Grand Endeavour" sidequest chain. A teaser screenshot showed Tataru and the Warrior of Light meeting with Leofard of the Redbill sky pirates. Leofard played a major role in the Heavensward "Shadow of Mhach" Alliance Raid series. Players will need to complete that set of quests in order to progress through "Tataru's Grand Endeavour."

Other additions teased for FFXIV Patch 6.2 include a new set of Tribal Quests focused on Disciples of the Land (Gatherer jobs). These Tribal Quests will involve the Omicrons. The return of Hildibrand is set for Patch 6.25, with "Somehow Further Hildibrand Adventures." These quests will unlock legendary Manderville Weapons with quest-based progression throughout the life of Endwalker.

Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Patch 6.18 arrives on July 5, 2022, and Patch 6.2 arrives in late August 2022.
