Apex Legends Mobile - Deathmatch Mayhem Event Guide

1 year 6 months ago

Apex Legends Mobile's mid-season Hyperbeat update brought loads of new events to the mobile version of Respawn's hit battle royale. The latest in this series of events, a TDM-focused limited-time event called Deathmatch Mayhem launched this week, giving players access to all kinds of new prizes. The event challenges players to complete in-game feats, called Trial Tasks, in return for free in-game loot.

Players who complete every Trial Task will also be rewarded with the Marble Carapace Fade legend skin, a mobile-exclusive cosmetic for the game's first-ever mobile-only legend. Free Fade skins are hard to come by, so this is an event Fade mains won't want to miss. Keep reading for a step-by-step guide to help you complete the Deathmatch Mayhem event and claim your prizes as quickly and easily as possible.

Getting started

You'll most likely be met with a splash screen advertising the Deathmatch Mayhem event when you fire up the Apex Legends Mobile app. Selecting "Go!" will take you directly to the event hub, but if you accidentally swipe past it or it doesn't appear, you can navigate to the hub manually by selecting the purple "Season Event" banner on the right side of the main lobby screen. From there, select the limited-time tab at the top of the screen, then select "Deathmatch Mayhem" from the vertical event list on the right side of the screen.

Trial Tasks

The event consists of six Trial Tasks and an additional, final challenge that earns you Fade's Marble Carapace skin. To access the final Task, you must complete the first six. You can only complete one Trial Task per day, after which the next task will unlock at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET. Don't worry too much, however--if you miss a Trial Task, you can complete a Recovery Mission. Recovery Missions give you access to a Bonus Task, which automatically unlocks the next Trial Task upon completion. There are only a few Bonus Tasks, however, and the game doesn't say how many there are or what they consist of, so you'll want to complete Trial Tasks on time whenever possible to keep things simple.

We missed a day of the event, triggering the Recovery Mission Trial Task located at the bottom of the screen.

Rewards

The event's Trial Tasks and their corresponding rewards are as follows:

  • Complete 2 matches in Team Deathmatch Mode: 800 Hyperbeat Coins
  • Use an Ultimate Ability 2 times in Team Deathmatch Mode: 1 Mission Card
  • Get 10 assists in Team Deathmatch Mode: 50 Flux
  • Kill 3 enemies in a single TDM match: 1,500 Hyperbeat Coins
  • Win 2 matches in Team Deathmatch Mode: 5 Pack Pieces
  • Knock down 3 enemies with SMGs in Team Deathmatch Mode: 2,000 Hyperbeat Coins
  • Kill 10 enemies in Team Deathmatch Mode: Marble Carapace Fade legend skin (Common)

Don't forget that this event's challenges must be completed in Team Deathmatch Mode--kills and knockdowns in other game modes won't count towards Trial Task completion.

In addition to the Fade skin, players who complete all Trial Tasks will receive a total of:

  • 4,300 Hyperbeat Coins (used to redeem free cosmetics from the Hyperbeat Store)
  • 1 Mission Card (used to automatically complete season missions)
  • 50 Flux (used to redeem legend skins in the "Crafting" section of the in-game store)
  • 5 Pack Pieces (10 Pack Pieces can be combined to form a single Syndicate Pack)
Fade's Marble Carapace skin is the final reward for completing all Trial Tasks.

Despite being Common-tier loot, Fade's Marble Carapace skin is actually pretty neat looking, and is more on par with a Rare-tier skin in terms of quality. The cosmetic gives Fade's skin a ghostly appearance in addition to altering the appearance of his suit and mask, so this event is definitely worth it for players who are big fans of the grumpy legend--or those who just want more currency to unlock their favorite skin from the VIP Section of the Hyperbeat Store.

The Deathmatch Mayhem event ends on September 27 at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET.
