Sons of the Forest Already Beaten in Less Than 9 Minutes

1 year 1 month ago

Fans may have been waiting more than three years for Sons of the Forest to be released but that hasn't stopped speedrunners from racing through the game in less than nine minutes.

As reported by PC Gamer, Benjamin Romero on YouTube published a Sons of the Forest speedrun of just eight minutes and 45 seconds on February 28, five days after the game launched.

Romero's run is in the any percentage, normal difficulty category, meaning it's essentially a pure sprint to the finish with no rules or regulations. Finishing in the smallest amount of time possible is the only goal, meaning players can take advantage of any glitches or exploits present.

One exploit in particular is key to Romero's impressive time, as the beginning of the speedrun is spent running up a mountain, jumping off, and falling unconscious, before Sons of the Forest's respawn system teleports him to the closest cannibal village.

This essentially lets the speedrunner skip a large portion of the game, and alongside some other glitches — including using the crafting menu while falling downhill to avoid taking damage — Romero is able to cross the finish line in a measly 525 seconds.

Xbox Exclusive Hi-Fi Rush Hits 2 Million Players

1 year 1 month ago

The Xbox exclusive rythmic action hit Hi-Fi Rush has officially surpassed the two million player mark according to Bethesda and developer Tango Gameworks.

As spotted by G.I.Biz, the engagement milestone came by way of a tweet from Bethesda encouraging fans to "keep on being rockstars", whle celebrating the fact that “two million players have moved to the beat of Hi-Fi Rush” since the game’s January 25 straight to Game Pass surprise launch.

Hi-Fi Rush’s rhythm-based gameplay, vibrant aesthetic, and humorous character represented a surprising departure from developer Tango Gameworks’ history of creating horror-infused titles such as The Evil Within and Ghostwire Tokyo.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Review

1 year 1 month ago

At this point, it’s probably fair to say that Team Ninja has a pretty good handle on this whole soulslike genre thing. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty may not reach the same heights as Nioh 2 did back in 2020, but it certainly scratches that same itch of lightning-fast combat, punishing-yet-rewarding difficulty, and deep build customization options that you can craft and tailor to your own playstyle. It’s great for the same reasons that the Nioh games are, and it accomplishes that feat even while completely changing up the fundamentals of its combat system to be closer to Sekiro than Dark Souls. But by that same token, it also falls victim to the same familiar issues nagging at those other Team Ninja soulslikes, including subpar storytelling and excessively fiddly loot mechanics. But when you consider that the things Wo Long does better than just about any other game in this genre, that baggage amounts to scratches on an otherwise pristine set of armor.

If you’re familiar with the Three Kingdoms era of Chinese history you may get more out of Wo Long’s story than I did (my knowledge basically begins and ends with the fact that you should not pursue Lu Bu), but I think even then it won’t be a highlight because Team Ninja continues to struggle with telling a memorable story with likable characters. This is a supernatural take on the final days of the Han Dynasty, where we take control of a nameless warrior who gets swept up in a power struggle between warring kingdoms and their pursuit of an elixir of immortality. In practically every level you team up with some sort of historically significant warrior to fight through a level, have a boss battle against an evil or corrupted historically significant warrior, and then move on to the next one.

Marc Laidlaw on Publishing Half-Life 3 Plot as Fan-Fiction: 'I Was Deranged'

1 year 1 month ago

Half-Life 2: Episode 3 may not be an official endeavor, but that doesn't mean series writer Marc Laidlaw hasn't pondered a universe after Episode 2. However, he seems to regret publishing those thoughts as an unofficial short story.

In an interview with Rock Paper Shotgun, Laidlaw explained why he regrets publishing the 2017 Half-Life fan-fiction on his website. The writer had plans for more adventures in the Half-Life universe but touched on the headaches, embarrassment, and fan confusion that followed his decisions. When noting why he did it, Laidlaw kept it blunt.

"I was deranged," Laidlaw told Rock Paper Shotgun. "I was living on an island, totally cut off from my friends and creative community of the last couple decades, I was completely out of touch and had nobody to talk me out of it. It just seemed like a fun thing to do, until I did it."

For those not familiar with the Episode 3 debacle, Laidlaw published the "Epistle 3" short story to his website in 2017. The unofficial tale arrived just on the heels of Episode 2's anniversary and was told from the perspective of someone named "Gertie Freemont" with mentions of "Alex Vaunt" – apparent references to Gordon Freeman and Alyx Vance. Though he's since discussed plans for Half-Life's future, Laidlaw left Valve in 2016 and was no longer affiliated with the company when publishing Epistle 3.

Lil Gator Game Developer Interview: Make Your Own Fun With Adorable Sandbox Exploration

Lil Gator Game is a charming sandbox adventure from MegaWobble. It's available for $19.99 on Steam, but it's this month's IGN Plus game and Plus members can get a Steam key as an IGN Reward and jump in right now.

Plus members - get your key for Lil Gator Game here on its IGN Rewards page. Not a Plus member? Learn more here. You can also follow the devs on Twitter.

Lil Gator Game Developer Interview

I sat down with Lil Gator Game devs Scott Slucher (Lead Developer) and Connor Quothe (Lead Writer) to talk about their inspiration, as well as what players can expect when they jump into this fun, lighthearted game.

The titular Lil Gator has a recognizable hat, tunic, and left-handed sword swing that will immediately look familiar to any Zelda fans, and Lil Gator Game wastes no time before making its love for that series explicit. When I asked why the main character was an alligator, Scott laughed and said, "because alligator is green and Link is green," and although that isn't the whole story, Scott was inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons, a fantastic duo from the Game Boy Color generation.

With such classic inspiration, it would be easy to mistake Lil Gator Game for a one-trick pony, but that's far from the truth. Filling out the world and giving it life are myriad characters, each with fun personalities that make meeting and talking to them breezy and delightful.

Strayed Lights Preview: Pixar Would Be Pleased

1 year 1 month ago

Everyone's got demons. Sometimes, you get to fight your own demons in a video game, and the upcoming action-adventure game Strayed Lights is possibly the artsiest allegory I've seen for this exact trope since playing the Kingdom Hearts trilogy. For visuals junkies, it's not totally dissimilar from Ori and the Blind Forest in style either, and its gorgeous soundtrack by the famed Austin Wintory immediately stood out in the short time I got to try it out. I was able to explore several areas in its imaginative, physics-defying world -- but unlike Ori, Strayed Lights seems way more like a linear campaign than a side-scrolling Metroidvania. Regardless, its action combat system is tight enough to carry its abstract story, and it even introduces an interesting mechanic that could make Strayed Lights worth checking out when it finally releases in April.

Action-adventure games have drilled their combat formulas down to a science at this point. In most action-adventure games – let's use God of War or Devil May Cry as examples here – you usually have at least one or two attack buttons, an ability button, some sort of special ability bar, a block button, and a dodge roll that lets you become momentarily invincible. This is all pretty standard stuff, and Strayed Lights doesn't seem to stray too far from what already works. It's in its favor that beating up these giant elemental creatures (that look like Flame Atronachs from The Elder Scrolls series) feels exactly as good as it looks, with attack timings and patterns that are both predictable and responsive.

Genshin Impact Caribert Archon Quest Offers More Questions than Answers

Genshin Impact Caribert Archon Quest Offers More Questions than Answers

I feel like I’m still processing the Genshin Impact “Caribert” Archon Quest. These interludes with Dainsleif and be fascinating. While the other Archon Quests tied to certain regions and the Archons themselves tend to focus on more isolated, current events, each of these chapters appearing in between can be more tantalizing. We learn more about Khaenri'ah, the Traveler’s sibling, and the underlying issues plaguing Teyvat. However, while there are some hints at greater revelations in this short act, it’s almost unsatisfying given how much we still don’t know about people like Kaeya and Dainsleif or Khaenri'ah, and suddenly now there are more questions after its conclusion.

Editor’s Note: There will be Genshin Impact “Caribert” Archon Quest spoilers in the rest of this article.

Genshin Impact Kaeya Dainsleif

Dainsleif and Kaeya meet, but it’s anticlimactic

There’s always been an air of mystery around Kaeya in Genshin Impact, mainly because we know he’s an orphan from Khaenri'ah. He was left on Mondstadt’s borders as a child, and Diluc’s father took him in to raise alongside his son. He has the same telltale eyes as Dainsleif and other characters from the region.

Sons of the Forest Early Access Review

1 year 1 month ago

I'll never forget my first confusing, terrifying encounter with a cannibal in 2018's The Forest, when an intelligent creature out of a nightmare decided simply to watch me rather than try to kill me. And while its sequel, Sons of the Forest, can't truly replicate the creepy novelty of that first time, it does build upon the gameplay, story, and atmosphere of one of the best ever survival crafting games in some very satisfying ways. It occasionally reminded me of its Early Access status with seemingly unfinished cutscenes and inconsistent performance, but not nearly as often as a lot of other recent games that use that label.

Set several years after The Forest, Sons of the Forest challenges you to survive and uncover new mysteries on a lush, temperate island that reminded me of hiking in the American Pacific Northwest. It's about four times the size of the original's map, and it is downright gorgeous. The amount and variety of vegetation, some of which can be used as a food source or to make medicines, adds a fullness and richness to the landscape that we rarely see in this type of game. The lighting is also incredible. Clouds that partially block out the sun on a warm day completely change the mood of my exploration. It's one of those small details that most games ignore, but when one of them gets it right, I really notice.

Nintendo Account and Nintendo Network ID Link Service Ends Next March

1 year 1 month ago

Nintendo Account Linking

Nintendo announced that the service that allows users to link Nintendo Network IDs, used on the 3DS and Wii U, with Nintendo Accounts will stop functioning in March 2024. This service allows users to consolidate the balance of the 3DS and Wii U eShop accounts to be usable on the Switch’s eShop. This service also makes it so Nintendo eShop purchases are linked to the email used in the Nintendo Account. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

As Nintendo will stop 3DS and Wii U eShop service on March 27, 2023, any unused balance on a 3DS or Wii U console will no longer be usable on either one. However, by linking a Nintendo Network ID with the Nintendo Account required to access the Switch’s internet features, the remaining balance on a 3DS or Wii U console can be transferred to the Switch.

This feature will no longer be possible on March 2024, as Nintendo will halt the service. The official Nintendo support website offered instructions on how to link a Nintendo Network ID with a Nintendo Account so that the funds can carry over to the Nintendo Switch eShop.

As a reminder, the 3DS and Wii U eShops will close down on March 27, 2023. Users won’t be able to make purchases on the online stores, but already purchased games are still accessible to download.

Learn More About Nero the Sable’s FFVII Remake Boss Music

1 year 1 month ago

FFVII Remake Nero

Square Enix shared some new information through the FFVII Remake official Twitter account about the song that plays during the fight against Nero the Sable, the final boss of the Episode InterMISSION DLC campaign in FFVII Remake Intergrade. The theme is composed using three different methods. All of them feature the double bass as a common instrument, one associated with him throughout.

You can listen to the song used during the fight against Nero the Sable, named in English after the character, here:

https://twitter.com/FFVIIR_CLOUD/status/1632667335973646336

The three different musical pieces that make up Nero’s boss fight in FFVII Remake are composed using different techniques. The first part of the song has a heavy emphasis on its use of the synthesizer, the second one predominantly features fast and passionate chamber music, and the third type of composition uses an orchestra and choir. The double bass is a constant throughout all three compositions.

Nero the Sable is one of the Tsviets, an elite group of soldiers from Deepground, which first made his appearance in Dirge of Cerberus: FFVII.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is available for the PS4. Meanwhile, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is available for the PS5 and Windows PC, and it includes Episode InterMISSION, a DLC campaign lead by Yuffie and in which Nero the Sable makes an appearance.

What to Know About Agnea the Dancer in Octopath Traveler 2

1 year 1 month ago

What to Know About Agnea the Dancer in Octopath Traveler 2

Agnea is great dancer in Octopath Traveler 2 for two reasons. One is that her story is refreshing, compared to darker and heavier tales like Osvald’s and Throne’s. There’s still corruption and you’ll meet villains, but she’s a very positive and lighthearted figure. The other is that it’s very clear going in what kind of role she’ll play in a party. This can help a lot and make it easier when deciding who to bring along on adventures.

How Do You Recruit Agnea in Octopath Traveler 2

If you didn’t start with Agnea in Octopath Traveler 2, you’ll find her in her hometown of Cropdale.

How Does Agnea Work in Octopath Traveler 2

Agnea is around to make your party stronger and your enemies weaker. Can you have her attack? Sure. I mean, at that point, give her a mage-type secondary job like cleric or scholar. But you really want to take advantage of her ability to make others better or worse, especially since her All Together Now Latent Power “limit break” can make single target skills, with limitations, affect all allies or enemies instead of just one.

Here is the full list of dancer skills Agnea can learn in Octopath Traveler 2. Keep in mind All Together Now will spread ones that aren’t designed to only hit her or are divine skills like Sealticge’s Seduction.

Review: Street Fighter: Duel’s Combat Slowly Grows on You

1 year 1 month ago

street fighter duel

While steadily waiting for June so I can mangle folks with Marisa in Street Fighter VI, I needed something to fill the hole in my life. Street Fighter: Duel has been an interesting trip into the Street Fighter universe in the meantime, although my opinion of the game keeps shifting back and forth as I play it. As an RPG, it brings a (not unexpectedly) different feel to the franchise that rubbed me wrong at first. Even so, I found myself continually returning to the game to play a little bit here and there. It’s not something for all Street Fighter fans, but if you’re interested in something a bit more managerial, it will keep pulling you back in.

Starting with Ryu or Ken (your choice), you’ll assemble a roster of fighters from all over the globe to beat up a nigh-endless supply of other world warriors and thugs. You’ll do this in three-on-three matches (with one fighter in reserve). The group will auto-attack with basic blows as your special bar builds up. Once you have a single bar, you can use a Super move that will slam foes or cause one of several different effects depending on the character. Once you use one of these moves, you can get your other characters to do a free special follow-up (combo) with several different levels of attacks or abilities. These attacks have different levels (1, 2, or 3), so you’ll have to pick the moves you want in numerical order.

Genji Dresses Up as Genos for Overwatch 2 One Punch Man Collab

Genji Dresses Up as Genos for Overwatch 2 One Punch Man Collab

Blizzard revealed another one of the Overwatch 2 One Punch Man character skins, and this time it involves Genji becoming Genos. The Associate Product Director Aimee Dennett and Art Director Dion Rogers discussed this latest costume on the PlayStation Blog. This also involved a look at some concept art for the skin, as well as confirming why this “cosplay” was picked.

Dennett specifically noted that Genji and Genos’ background led to this skin appearing for the Overwatch 2 One Punch Man crossover. Both characters are cyborgs. Genji ended up nearly left for dead by his brother Hanzo after a fight. The Overwatch body augmentations ended up saving him. Meanwhile, as a teenager, Genos and his family were attacked by a cyborg, and he ended up becoming a cyborg after being the only survivor.

Both Rogers and Dennett both also noted that this skin is more of a hybrid. Rogers noted, “Genos’s spiky blonde hair was an interesting challenge, the closer we matched the style the more we lost Genji in the process. Our concept artists were careful to combine the two heroes’ main aesthetics without losing either character in the process.“

Street Fighter: Duel Monster Hunter Crossover Introduces Gore Magala Ken

1 year 1 month ago

Street Fighter: Duel Monster Hunter Crossover Adds Gore Magala Ken

Worlds will collide when Capcom's popular Monster Hunter franchise arrives in Street Fighter: Duel for an event that will run from March 16-29, 2023. In this crossover, players can tackle new challenges as they battle Gore Megala, a powerful dragon-like creature that first appeared in Monster Hunter 4. It will also mark the debut of a new version of Ken called "Gore Magala Ken."

Gore Magala Ken can join players' team to lead the charge against the beasts from Monster Hunter. This new version of Street Fighter staple Ken belongs to the “Infernal King Faction” and boosts the power of your team based on the number of other characters you have with the same faction. He is a balanced-type fighter and has the Savage ability, granting him +25 attack. His most potent attack is Tetsuzanko, which deals a large amount of damage to a single target.

With Ken aboard, you can challenge Gore Megala. Fighting this monster will cause it to drop items based on those dropped in the Monster Hunter series. These include Gore Megala's wings, claw, and head. You can then take these drops and trade them for items at Wycademy Supply. These items include a new avatar frame, Arcade Coins, and fighters.

Gore Megala also can be challenged in two different modes, Normal State and Rage State, with Rage State being harder. You can make the fight easier by bringing Gore Megala Ken along to increase your damage output. The Shadaloo Invasion event will run alongside the Gore Megala hunt and gives items that can be used to unlock Gore Megala Ken, including monster bones and wyvern tears.

Super Mario amiibo Return figures

The Super Mario amiibo NFC figures are back in stores. The Target ad for the week of March 5, 2023 showed the five available, including its “exclusive” Luigi. In addition, Best Buy also restocked the Mario, Peach, Bowser, and Donkey Kong ones. These aren’t showing up at other retailers like Amazon or GameStop as of time of writing. They are $15.99 at each store.

These are actually reprints of some rather old amiibo. Back in March 2015, these Super Mario amiibo appeared alongside Mario Party 10 for the Wii U. The first “round” included Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Toad, and Yoshi. Donkey Kong showed up in a November 2016 batch that also included Wario, Waluigi, Rosalina, Daisy, Diddy Kong, and Boo.

One Piece Three Sword Style Nami Figure Comes in Two Versions

One Piece Three Sword Style Nami Figure Comes in Two Sizes

Back in 2021, Eiichiro Oda drew a “Three Sword Style” Nami for the cover of One Piece Magazine Volume 13. She was essentially “stealing” Roronoa Zoro’s style for the pose. Now in December 2023, two figures inspired by the “dream scenario” design will be released. One is a more true-to-life Nami One Piece figure, while the other is a smaller, more cutesy World Collectable Figure (WCF). They can be pre-ordered through the Jump CS Shueisha storefront in Japan. Only a Japanese release has been confirmed.

First, here's how that One Piece Magazine Volume 13 by Oda looked.
[gallery columns="1" size="full" ids="953969" link="file"]

Here’s how the One Piece “Three Sword Style” Nami full-size scale figure will look. She will be about 165mm/6.4in tall. She will cost 13,200円 (~$97).
[gallery columns="5" size="full" ids="953971,953972,953973,953974,953975" link="file"]

Next, here’s the WCF version of this special version of Nami. Like all figures in this line, she’ll be smaller and more affordable. She’ll stand at 70mm/2.7in tall. She’ll also be the more affordable of the two, as she’ll only cost 2,640円 (~$19).

Genshin Impact Hilichurl’s Treasure Trove Web Event is Back

There’s a new Genshin Impact web event, and this time it is another round of the Hilichurl’s Treasure Trove. This appeared four times now, once in every update since 3.2. This latest run is available until April 11, 2023.

To participate, players need to head to the official site and log in. If you are above Adventure Rank 10, you can begin taking part in the "treasure hunt." Your goal is to earn keys to open treasure chests. These are earned via completing quests, which can involve logging into both the game and HoYoLab, sharing the page, and checking different sites. When you get these keys, you can redeem them for rewards like Hero’s Wit books, Mora, and Primogems. You can also take part in Prize Draw Zone pulls to earn more items.

This is the second recent Genshin Impact web event. When Dehya joined the roster as a playable character, there was also a Scarlet Sands web event. This involved Dehya and Dunyarzard going around Sumeru’s deserts looking at points of interest, with players who participated getting Primogems and other rewards.

Cygames Reveals Granblue Fantasy Versus Anila Gameplay

1 year 1 month ago

Granblue Fantasy Versus Anila

Cygames showed off some gameplay from Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising featuring Anila, the game's first new character. Anila was teased in a brief trailer aired during the Cygames Cup last week.

The latest reveal is a full gameplay trailer featuring the Divine General of the South-Southwest mixing it up.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6H4U4bWK90

In Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising Anila uses her long polearm in combat, with generous involvement from her tame flock of sheep. She can send sheep running across the screen as ranged projectiles, or ride them forward to close a gap. She can also juggle foes on her polearm, and has a crashing pound attack that spawns a massive Japanese kadomatsu decoration that spawns a wave of sheep. Her ultimate move summons a stampede of white and black sheep to trample her enemies.

Anila was introduced to Granblue Fantasy in 2015 as a "Zodiac" character. The Zodiac characters are based on the Chinese Zodiac and are introduced each new year. She's voiced by Aoi Yuuki (Lucy in Cyberpunk Edgerunners, Clementine in Overlord) in Japanese. In English she'll be voiced by Leona Renee, who in addition to voice acting has also done professional localization work on series like The Legend of HeroesYs, and Senran Kagura.

Check out the teaser below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jZWHwztqlk

The Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 3 trailer introduces Mini Yaemori, Kazuya's other neighbor. Mini is a cosplayer and a social media influencer. She plays a key role in the plot of Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 3, which involves Kazuya and Chizuru's attempt to make an independent film together.

The Rent-a-Girlfriend anime (a.k.a. Kanojo, Okarishimasu) is based on the manga created by Reiji Miyajima. The story follows Kazuya Kinoshita, a 20-year-old college student living in Tokyo. After being dumped by his girlfriend Mami after just a month of dating, a spiteful Kazuya turns to a certain app for solace. The app allows him to "rent" a date for a limited time, and his partner is Chizuru Mizuhara. After some drama and hard feelings, Kazuya finds that his family and friends love his new "girlfriend," and he's forced to keep renting her services to keep up appearances. It also turns out that Chizuru happens to be his neighbor and a student at the same college.

1 year 1 month ago

Puma announced that it will be releasing a new shoe collection inspired by Final Fantasy XIV, set to launch on March 15.

The Japanese website Sneakerwars shows four different models of Puma shoes in the collection. Two of them are Puma Slipstream models and two of them are RS-X models. Each model has both Light and Dark versions. The Light version includes bright colors like white green and blue while the Dark versions have black and blue.

The shoe's tongue, heels, and insoles have a painted "Fat Cat" design, which is Final Fantasy XIV's mascot minion. The shoelaces also have a crystal charm attached to them as well. All models will cost 17,050 yen, which is approximately $125 USD. So far, the collection is only available in Japan with no mention of an international release.

Other shoe collaborations include Nintendo partnering up with Converse for a Pokemon collaboration, and Puma as well with the Animal Crossing franchise.

Currently, Square Enix is working on Final Fantasy XVI, which is set to release on June 22 for PlayStation 5. However, the PC version is not expected to arrive this year.

Tim Schafer Opens Up About Life With Xbox, Building Better Work Cultures, and What's Next

1 year 1 month ago

Double Fine Productions CEO Tim Schafer has touched the development of a lot of video games, so it’s natural that he’s hard-pressed to pick a favorite. But his answer is ultimately driven by one of Schafer’s most closely-held values: the importance of being present with other people.

I’m asking Schafer about his favorite projects at an opportunity ripe for reflecting on his industry impact: DICE Summit 2023 in Las Vegas. We spoke just hours before he was inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame, in recognition of his over 30-year impact on the games industry. This honor puts him on a roster of past winners including Ed Boon, Connie Booth, Bonnie Ross, Todd Howard, Hideo Kojima, and many others.

Beginning with The Secret of Monkey Island at LucasArts up to his most recent work, Psychonauts 2, Schafer’s directly been involved in the development of over 25 games. Via Double Fine, he’s helped publish almost ten more, and within Double Fine itself has helped support the development of still more than that. And then there are all the games Double Fine has supported via Day of the Devs over the years, an annual festival of game demos that has helped spread the word about countless indies.

At first, to answer my question about his greatest career highlight, Schafer proceeds to name Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, Grim Fandango, and Psychonauts before admitting he's just going to name every game he's ever worked on.

Hogwarts Legacy PS4 and Xbox One Versions Delayed for 'Best Possible Experience'

1 year 1 month ago

While Hogwarts Legacy has been out for some time on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, it has been delayed once more on PS4 and Xbox One to May 5, 2023.

The news was shared on Hogwarts Legacy's Twitter account and it was confirmed that the original April 4 date for PS4 and Xbox One was just not enough time for the team to deliver the "best possible experience."

"We’re overwhelmed with gratitude for the response to Hogwarts Legacy from fans around the globe," Hogwarts Legacy's Twitter wrote. "The team is working hard to deliver the best possible experience on all platforms and we need more time to do this. Hogwarts Legacy will launch for PS4 and Xbox One May 5, 2023."

There was no mention of the Nintendo Switch version in this post, so it appears it is still on track to be released on July 25, 2023.

In our Hogwarts Legacy review, we said, in "nearly every way," it is "the Harry Potter RPG I’ve always wanted to play." However, we did note it was "certainly weighed down by technical issues, a lackluster main story, and some poor enemy variety, but even those couldn’t come close to breaking its enchanting spell over me." It's possible these technical issues were a bigger issue on last-gen hardware.
