“While Stadia will shut down on January 18, 2023, we're happy to share that we're working to bring the games you own on Stadia to PC through Ubisoft Connect,” said Ubisoft. “We'll have more to share regarding specific details as well as the impact for Ubisoft+ subscribers at a later date.”

FIFA 23 Review

1 year 5 months ago

FIFA is dead; long live FIFA. EA’s football simulation behemoth has returned for one last hurrah after a nasty public divorce with its licensor, calling itself ‘The World’s Game’ ahead of a painful name change to EA Sports FC, coming next year. But the tagline transcends its bittersweet pomp because, for all intents and purposes, FIFA 23 fittingly does feel like the same game the world has been playing for the past few years, with its reliable end-to-end gameplay and familiar frustrations.

Even at the end of an era, FIFA 23 marks another year of careful attrition from EA, as several tactical and aesthetic revisions supplement its sturdy gameplay blueprint. Yet it’s also an entry that feels both propped up and consumed by its Ragnarok status, begrudgingly pulling down a ruby-red final curtain as the football game genre descends into a maelstrom of chaos.

Theatrical additions to gameplay, like the ferocious Power Shots, ensure that the FIFA name goes out with a bang rather than a whimper. Holding the bumpers and pressing shoot turns your striker into a raid boss with an interruptible attack, the camera pulling focus as they leather the ball, sending bootstrap shockwaves booming through the PS5’s controller speaker. If you get the angle wrong, FIFA 23’s newly improved acrobatic goalkeepers might be able to stop it with their individually simulated fingers, which have saved my bacon on a few occasions.

How To Fix ‘Failed To Download Supervised Settings’ in Fortnite

1 year 5 months ago

Errors are never fun in online games, and more often than not are just something you have to deal with from time to time. While Fortnite is usually super reliable, it also isn’t immune to the occasional hiccup that requires players to take action to fix an issue. Seeing as we also go through these issues, we usually know a trick or two to fix problems. Here’s how to fix the Failed to Download Supervised Settings error in Fortnite.

Failed to Download Supervised Settings Fortnite Error Fix

The first thing to note is that this could be a server issue and you should check the @FortniteStatus Twitter account to see if the problem is widespread. If that doesn’t show any issues, keep reading for our fixes.

For some reason, this issue seems to skew towards mainly affecting Fortnite players on consoles. There are a couple of easy fixes that shouldn’t take up too much of your time and get you right back into the game.

Fix 1

Your first option is to shut down and restart your console. This means on Xbox you will need to select Full Shut Down in the Power Mode & Startup section of the settings menu if your console would otherwise simply suspend.

If for some reason this doesn’t quite do the trick, once your console is off, fully unplug it. This shouldn’t be necessary, but it’s an alternative.

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf Codex Entries Revealed By BioWare

1 year 5 months ago

BioWare has shared several codex entries from the upcoming Dragon Age: Dreadwolf as part of its ongoing developer diaries for the next fantasy RPG.

In a new blog, Bioware has shared a few codex excerpts from the upcoming Dragon Age: Dreadwolf as well as an interview with two members of the game’s narrative team, narrative editor Ryan Cormier and senior writer Sylvia Feketekuty.

The first entry is about the Necropolis from an unnamed character’s diary. While the text cites Brother Genitivi from Dragon Age Origins and Nevarra from Dragon Age: Inquisition, the codex entry is meant to set the scene for what players might expect from the next Dragon Age.

We also get some insight into what the process is like for writing the next Dragon Age game. According to Feketekuty, “Dragon Age: Dreadwolf has been a balance of providing answers to long-standing questions for veteran fans while making a game that new players, or someone who only played [Inquisition] years ago, can also get into.”

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will return to Thesdas where players will run into familiar friends and places.

While we’ll have to wait a bit longer to see more of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, the codex entries should paint some picture of what to expect from the game’s lore. These will be presented “in-world” through notes, letters, books in Dreadwolf to add layers to the RPG for players who want them.

chaos;head noah pc steam

Spike Chunsoft has announced that Chaos;Head Noah will not be on Steam. It will still come out on the Nintendo Switch. While it may not appear on the Steam storefronts, Spike Chunsoft states that it is looking into alternate ways that it can release Chaos;Head Noah on the PC. It thanked players for their patience and understanding.

https://twitter.com/SpikeChunsoft_e/status/1575893051846934528

Chaos;Head Noah on Steam was originally dated for a October 7, 2022 release. This was the same release date as the Switch version. According to Spike Chunsoft, the reason behind this is because Steam has requested changes to the game’s content. This is due to Steam’s guidelines. It is not clear what Steam has deemed inappropriate in Chaos;Head Noah. However, Spike Chunsoft believes that if it changes the game in adhere to Steam’s request, then it would no longer be up to standards. Independent developers and smaller publishers have surfaced complaints about Steam's approval process for visual novels in particular, citing inconsistency and unclear guidelines about what's actually permissible.

For the second month in a row, Vampire Survivors has risen above the likes of Elden Ring, Cyberpunk 2077, and Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered to become the most-played Steam Deck game in September 2022.

Valve shared the news on Twitter, confirming that Vampire Survivors, which is set to get its v1.0 update on October 20, was the most-played game in terms of total hours played. While we weren't given an exact number, we do know that it held off the behemoth that is Elden Ring to take the top spot.

Behind those two games, in order, were Stardew Valley, Cyberpunk 2077, Hades, No Man's Sky, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, Cult of the Lamb, and Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Bounty Contract & All Worlds Ultimate Swoop Rally Return to SWTOR in October 2022

1 year 5 months ago

Having special events in an MMO is a crucial aspect to keep a player base interested and coming back for more, and Star Wars: The Old Republic isn’t any different. Some events are held once a year or once in their lifetime, but two events, in particular, are making a return: Bounty Contracts and the All Worlds Ultimate Swoop Rally. It’s the perfect time to gather special rewards that are unique to both events.

Starting Oct. 4, 2022 at 12PM GMT, the Bounty Brokers Association will be accepting hunters from all over the galaxy to help thin the numbers of troublesome crime syndicates and violent gangs. The minimum requirement to join is level 15.

For an entire week, ending on Oct. 11, 2022, at 12PM GMT, you can accept two Bounty Contracts every single day: one Henchmen Contract and one Kingpin Contract. Choosing to participate will net you sweet rewards like a Bounty Tracker’s Armor Set, an Elite Tracker’s Bowcaster weapon, the BH-7X Custom Hunter mount, and more.

Microsoft Flight Simulator Eurofighter Typhoon & Tallinn Airport Get New Screenshots

1 year 5 months ago

Today third-party developers shared some more interesting news about Microsoft Flight Simulator add-ons.

We start with DC Designs and CJ Simulations, which provided a new look at their Eurofighter Typhoon, alongside a development update.

“I spent most of this week working on the CJ Simulations Typhoon, during which I added multiple further liveries, including all Royal Air Force squadrons, all international operators and one or two “special” schemes. The addition of chocks, covers, lights, Interactive Checklist and manual filled up the rest of the time spent, and CodenameJack did heroic work not just on avionics but also on understanding the cool afterburner effects created by Asobo ( burner flames no longer “pop” into existence but fade in and out as per real life, illuminating the surrounding airframe at night too ). This will now be rolled out on all other aircraft in the DC Designs inventory in their forthcoming updates. The same process of additions is now on-going for the Harrier, the majority of which will be done next week.

This leads me to an important point. I still keep seeing messages or comments ( sometimes quite aggressive and accusing ones ) demanding to know why the other products have not been updated yet? “It’s been months. Why haven’t you done it yet?” Some people accuse me of putting new products ahead of existing ones, as though it’s all about money and nothing else. Nothing could be further from the truth.
