New Saints Row Trailer & Video Interview Are All About Kevin & His Voice Actor Greg Chun

1 year 7 months ago

Deep Silver and Volition released two new videos dedicated to the upcoming open-world action game Saints Row.

The first video is a trailer and it’s all about introducing Kevin, your typical “guy who knows a guy, who knows a guy” with connections everywhere in Santo Ileso.

Formerly part of the idols, he has changed sides to the Saints, bringing with him his connections, his amazing cooking skills, his ability to party like it’s 1999, and more.

If you want to know more about the actor behind the character, the second video is for you, as it’s a mini-interview with Greg Chun, who talks about his relationship with the character and the game.

Greg Chun certainly isn’t new to portraying larger-than-live characters in crime-related games, as you may know him for having played protagonist Takayuki Yagami in Sega’s Judgment and Lost Judgment, on top of Yu Nanba in Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

You can watch both videos below.

Top 10 Best Hallway Fight Scenes in TV and Movies

1 year 7 months ago

Hallway fight scenes have left a surprising mark in cinema. It’s rather cathartic to watch someone you’re rooting for stare down multiple opponents, who are all funneled into a single, narrow passageway that the protagonist has to push through.

It isn’t just fun to watch, but a great way of showing the viewer the strength of the character. It comes off cliché sometimes, but when it’s done right, they might make their way to the 10 best hallway fight scenes in TV and movies.

MSI Oculux NXG253R review: Nvidia Reflex is sharp, but 360Hz is still unnecessary

1 year 7 months ago

Even if you’re not “into” PC gaming hardware, spend enough time in its orbit and you’ll eventually develop a healthy scepticism for a specific type of electro-trickery. The kind that promises, naturally with the right purchases, to help you shoot better or drive cars faster or generally be a more PRO ELITE WINNER in competitive games.

For me, there have been two such technologies I’ve never really bought into: ultra-high 360Hz monitor refresh rates, and Nvidia Reflex, a kind of setup-wide latency reduction system. Now, having spent some quality time with the MSI Oculux NXG253R – which features both – I’ll cop to being wrong about one of them.

Meet Your Maker is the next game from Dead by Daylight dev Behaviour Interactive

1 year 7 months ago

Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive has revealed its next game: Meet Your Maker.

It's a first-person building and raiding game that takes place in a hellish, post-apocalyptic wasteland, with players building towering industrial outposts filled with traps to protect genetic material - and then infiltrating the outposts of others to steal the precious resource.

It certainly feels like a departure from the popular horror multiplayer game, both in its genre and its aesthetic. But there are more similarities than you might think.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land sold over 4 million units

Over 4 million units of Kirby and the Forgotten Land have been sold worldwide. It has also set a new sales record for the entire Kirby series. Nintendo revealed the milestone on the 13th page of the presentation of its financial results for the first quarter of the 2023 fiscal year, which ran from April to June 2022.

The page also compared the sales of Forgotten Land to previous Kirby titles. The 2014 3DS game Kirby Triple Deluxe had over 2 million units sold during its lifetime, while the 2018 Switch entry Kirby Star Allies almost reached 4 million units sold. Forgotten Land set a record in both quantity and speed, as it surpassed all prior entries and hit the 4 million mark in just 15 weeks after its release on March 25, 2022.

Forgotten Land is a new 3D action game where Kirby explores a mysterious world with abandoned buildings while rescuing Waddle Dees. The titular protagonist has a new Mouthful Mode that lets him swallow large objects like a car or a vending machine. The game also supports local co-op multiplayer.

Bungie Employees Reportedly Doxxed, Bombarded With Racial Slurs And Death Threats

1 year 7 months ago

Employees at Bungie reportedly became the victims of harassment in June. The harassment would lead to the employees being doxxed and bombarded with racial slurs, phone calls, and text messages, and it reportedly began thanks to a tweet in celebration of working with a popular Destiny 2 player.

The harassment started after one of Bungie's employees tweeted about their new collaboration with African-American streamer Uhmaayyze in early June for their game Destiny 2, reports The Record. This tweet would lead to doxxing and death threats toward several Bungie employees.

The tweet received a reply threatening to kill employees on June 14. This was reportedly followed up with Bungie employees getting voicemails and texts on their personal phones from someone using an anonymous texting and calling app. One voicemail was left on the personal phone line of the employee who posted the tweet.

In it, the caller used racial slurs and requested Destiny 2 include violent and racially charged scenes or DLC. The employee’s spouse, also a Bungie employee, received a text with the same request.

Later, someone using the same phone number ordered a pizza to the couple’s home after leaving a voicemail for them saying, “Enjoy your pizza.”

This event repotedly led them to calling the police to file a report.

All New Survivors in Dead by Daylight (DBD): Resident Evil: PROJECT W

1 year 7 months ago

Dead by Daylight has an evergrowing list of survivors and killers that the game is constantly adding into the mix for players to take control of. Today, during the Behaviour Interactive showcase, a brand new trailer for the next expansion was revealed, which will be coming soon with new survivors for players to use. These are all of the new survivors in Dead by Daylight: Resident Evil: PROJECT W.

All New Survivors in Dead by Daylight (DBD): Resident Evil: PROJECT W

In its trailer for Resident Evil: PROJECT W, Dead by Daylight has officially revealed a new killer, a new map layout, and of course that there are two new survivors coming to the horror game.

  • Ada Wong
  • Rebecca Chambers

Ada and Rebecca join previous Resident Evil survivors, Jill Valentine and Leon S. Kennedy, bringing the total of playable Resident Evil protagonists up to four. The choice to call the expansion PROJECT W obviously alludes to the fact that the focus is on the expansion’s killer, Albert Wesker, which makes it an interesting decision to include both Rebecca and Ada.

Ada and Wesker really only interact in Resident Evil 4, where Ada is revealed to be working for Wesker. She only interacts with him over her communication device as they never interact in person. Also worth noting, Ada looks to have her design in Dead by Daylight based on her design in the Resident Evil 2 remake.

The Behavior Interactive Beyond showcase brought a bevy of new announcements for fans of the development team. Dead by Daylight made an appearance with a brand new crossover event with the legendary horror series titled Dead by Daylight | Resident Evil: PROJECT W. Set to bring Rebecca Chambers and Ada Wong, this new chapter will also introduce a new killer to terrorize the duo. Who’s the New Killer in Dead by Daylight | Resident Evil: PROJECT W?

Dead by Daylight | Resident Evil: PROJECT W will introduce Albert Wesker, also known as The Mastermind, as the new killer. Fans of the Resident Evil series know plenty about the legendary antagonist.

Introduced in the first installment of Resident Evil, Wesker was revealed to be a double agent looking to gather data on the virus that mutated all who became infected by it. Come Resident Evil 5, Wesker was revealed to be a mutant of the very virus that he was gathering data on. His goal became to create a stronger version of it called the “Uroboros virus” until he met his demise at the hands of Chris and Sheva. Although Wesker died, he was an insanely powerful being with the smarts to back it up.

Project W Trailer Brings Albert Wesker to Dead by Daylight

1 year 7 months ago

You read that right, the previously teased Project W Resident Evil crossover for Dead by Daylight now has a full cinematic trailer showing off some of Albert Wesker’s fearsome power. There is no given release date, with the trailer only giving a “coming soon”.

Albert Wesker’s look seems to be directly from Resident Evil 4, and very well could be what he will look like in the upcoming remake. As far as Resident Evil big bads go, Wesker is the absolute best.

It isn’t only Albert Wesker joining the multiplayer horror game, either. Rebecca Chambers from Resident Evil 0 and Ada Wong from Resident Evil 2 and 4 will also be along for the ride.

Seeing as the whole trailer takes place in the RPD (Raccoon City Police Department) building, it could be dropping a huge hint of a future map.

You can experience the trailer of residential horror below.

How To Fix Dead by Daylight (DBD) Error Code 8012

1 year 7 months ago

Nothing spoils the fun in a game than getting together with friends, and you get an error code that won’t let you actually play. There are two possibilities to every error code, either something happening from your side of the game or something happening to the servers that you can’t fix. We’re here to tell you how to fix Dead by Daylight Error Code 8012.

Dead by Daylight Error Code 8012 Solutions

Depending on how you look at it, you’re in luck. Error Code 8012 in Dead by Daylight is a purely server-side issue, meaning it’s something that befalls the developer to fix. You don’t have to uninstall your game or do any PC file trickery to fix this specific error.

Though, it is completely possible you could be seeing this error code due to some sort of server hiccup and not through actual server issues. Your best bet is to check the sites that help notify you of issues.

Downdetector is a good start, seeing as it collects reports of issues and can get you the relief of knowing it isn’t just you having issues. You can also try Ping Server Status which directly tells you the online/offline status of Dead by Daylight servers. There is also the option to search up the game on Twitter and see if other people are having issues as well.

Westworld Is The Best Video Game TV Show

1 year 7 months ago

Since its first season launch in 2016, I’ve always felt like the Westworld TV series offered an especially compelling commentary on the video game hobby. Like a lot of sci-fi, the show leverages futuristic technology and far-fetched ideas to get its point across. But at its core, it’s still a show about the psychology of people playing a game and how that game is really just about life and the decisions we make that shape that life. Westworld may not borrow from a longstanding video game license. Still, with its incisive and often surprising perspectives, it has emerged as the best show about video games, their potential, and their threat that I’ve ever seen.

SPOILERS follow for the entirety of the Westworld TV series, up to and including current episodes of Season 4.

Anyone who has played an MMO could grasp the setup presented as the show’s first season got started. Real-life player characters are dressed up in period-appropriate dress and flung headlong into a teeming world of quest givers, side objectives, and freeform exploration. Of course, Westworld’s all-important twist is the awareness and nascent sentience of the NPCs within that would-be massively multiplayer real world and the dangerous implications of a group of people willing to overlook others’ suffering to have a good time.

Nintendo Switch Annual Playing Users Count Surpassed 100 Million

1 year 7 months ago

Nintendo Switch has over 100 million annual playing users

Over 100 million users have been playing games on the Nintendo Switch on an annual basis. Nintendo announced the new milestone on the 12th page of its financial presentation for the first quarter of the 2023 fiscal year that ended in June 2022. The company revealed that there were 104 million users who played games on the console between July 2021 and June 2022.

Nintendo calculated the Switch's annual playing users by counting the number of unique Nintendo Accounts that were connected online, consented to provide statistics, and ran at least one game software. It did not include accounts that were only used to access the Nintendo eShop.

This announcement goes in tandem with the ever-increasing lifetime sales amount of the Nintendo Switch. The company had sold over 100 million units as of December 2021, and over 25 million of them came from Japan. Meanwhile, the new presentation's 10th page revealed that Nintendo sold 3.43 million Switch units between April and June 2022. After adding from the previous total of 107.65 million units in March 2022, it has now sold around 111.08 million units of all Switch models combined.

Samurai Maiden Announced by D3 Publisher

1 year 7 months ago

Samurai Maiden

The tease is over. D3 Publisher, which recently previewed a new project with a trailer that featured a maiden with a samurai sword, has officially announced its newest project. The aptly titled Samurai Maiden was unveiled alongside a new announcement trailer. The trailer shows off more Samurai Maiden gameplay and sets up its premise.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqDDcNiffZE

Samurai Maiden puts players in the high school uniform of Tsumugi Tamaori, an ordinary 21st-century girl. Tsumugi is forcibly transported several centuries into the past, waking up in a burning temple. That temple is Honno-ji, the famed temple where Sengoku-era warlord Oda Nobunaga was burned alive. To survive and find a way home, Tsumugi takes up a blade gifted to her by Nobunaga himself, cutting through crowds of supernatural baddies across the underworld.

The game is a fast-paced character action title. Tsumugi slashes at enemies, throwing them around with her blade and performing superhuman sword techniques. Samurai Maiden equips Tsumugi with her own squad, composed of three "Gokage" ninja. Iyo uses an arsenal of shinobi tools, Hagane is equipped with prosthetic weapons, and Komimi uses fearsome jutsu attacks. Tsumugi can call upon the Gokage's abilities to form powerful combos and sweep the battlefield.

She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Delayed, Now Set to Air Weekly on Thursdays

1 year 7 months ago

Earlier today in a short trailer released on YouTube, Marvel Studios announced that the upcoming Disney+ series, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law will be slightly delayed.

When Does She-Hulk Attorney At Law Come Out

Originally set to begin two weeks from today on Aug. 17, the new MCU TV series is now scheduled to begin just a day later on Aug. 18 with new episodes coming out each Thursday.

This is a bit of a change from the standard set by Loki last year with new episodes premiering every Wednesday. There are currently no details from Marvel about why this change is happening or if future MCU TV programs will adopt this new weekly Thursday release schedule.

The nine episodes in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law are currently scheduled to release weekly on Disney+ every Thursday from Aug. 18 to Oct. 13. This marks the first time that an MCU TV show will have a nine-episode-long season since the first season of What If ran from Aug. 11 to Oct. 6 last year.

There aren’t any massive reveals in the new trailer like the last one that teased a Daredevil cameo. Yet, it’s worth noting that She-Hulk will be the first time seeing Charlie Cox back in the Daredevil suit since the third season of the Netflix series.

Other notable cameos include Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/Abomination, Benedict Wong as Wong, and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk. The lead, Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk will be played by Canadian actor, Tatiana Maslany.

NBA 2K23 emphasises "authenticity" in detailed new gameplay breakdown

1 year 7 months ago

With NBA 2K23's 9th September release date rapidly approaching, publisher 2K has shared a closer look at this latest series instalment's new features - including a new trailer - playing up the concept of "authenticity" across its defensive and offensive tool kit.

It's an extensive list of new features, as detailed in a lengthy new blog post, with 2K saying this year's gameplay changes should "should translate to more wins, and more seamless actions".

On the offensive side of things, there are new gesture combos to the Pro Stick, which 2K says has allowed it to "expand the dunking controls to let you dunk exactly how you want". That includes the addition of a new rim hang control which, on new gen consoles, incorporates physics-based simulated rim hangs.
