Xbox Celebrates Pride Month With New Controller Design And Donations To Charity

1 year 10 months ago

Now that the calendar has shifted from May to June, Pride month has officially kicked off. In support of LGBTQIA+ communities, Microsoft will be donating money to charity, selling a new controller design, and more to celebrate.

Starting on June 9, the faceplate design you see above will be available in the Xbox Design Lab as a customization option through the end of the month. Inspired by Pride, the faceplate incorporates 34 flags representing different LGBTQIA+ groups. Xbox has put together a site highlighting each flag on the controller. Because this is an Xbox Design Lab promotion, and in the spirit of diversity, you can freely customize the rest of the controller like you would with any other product in the Design Lab, including colors for grips, triggers, d-pad, analog sticks, and buttons.

The controller customization comes as a result of a limited design given out to a handful of people last year. The blog post announcing Xbox's Pride plans describes the decision to make this year's design wildly available, saying, "Last year, Xbox shared a vision for a Pride controller. We produced a limited batch of Pride controllers and shared it with LGBTQIA+ players and creators around the world. While the response to the controller was very positive, many asked us to make this design universally available. We heard you, and we’re expanding availability by making this year’s Pride controller customizable through Xbox Design Lab, specifically underscoring the uniqueness of the LGBTQIA+ experience."

5 Letter Words Ending with OWY – Wordle Game Help

1 year 10 months ago

One could argue that Wordle is probably the biggest game release of 2022, especially considering how it took the world by storm at the start of the year. The game’s premise is simple but very compelling: simply guess a random five-letter word each day. The catch is that you only have six attempts, which makes things significantly harder. With that said, we’re here to provide some clues to help keep your streak going. Here’s a list of 5 letter words ending with OWY.

5 Letter Words Ending with OWY

  • Blowy
  • Showy
  • Snowy

The fantastic news here is that there are literally only three possible answers if you’ve come to the conclusion that today’s word ends with OWY. If you’ve got at least three attempts left, you can simply go down the list and you should be able to guess the answer correctly with time to spare.

By making use of the color-coded clues, you can also narrow down the possibilities. A green letter means that the letter is in the right position, while a yellow letter means the letter is in the word but you have it in the wrong position. And if you get a grey letter, you can rule that out entirely.

With all these clues at your disposal, and a very short list of possible answers, you should have no problem guessing the right answer. However, if you still need help solving the puzzle, here’s today’s Wordle solution to help you get it right.

That does it for our list of 5 letter words ending with OWY. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on Wordle.

5 Letter Words Starting with SHO – Wordle Game Help

1 year 10 months ago

Like clockwork, there’s yet another daily Wordle puzzle available for players to tackle. The premise of the game is simple: guess a random five-letter word within just six attempts. While that might sound easy on paper, it can actually be a pretty challenging task if you’re unable to come up with viable solutions on the fly. That’s where we come in. Here’s a list of 5 letter words starting with SHO to help you out on your Wordle journey.

5 Letter Words Starting with SHO

  • Shoal
  • Shoat
  • Shock
  • Shoed
  • Shoer
  • Shoes
  • Shogi
  • Shogs
  • Shoji
  • Shone
  • Shook
  • Shool
  • Shoon
  • Shoos
  • Shoot
  • Shops
  • Shore
  • Shorl
  • Shorn
  • Short
  • Shote
  • Shots
  • Shott
  • Shout
  • Shove
  • Shown
  • Shows
  • Showy
  • Shoyu

The good news is that the list of possible answers for today’s puzzle is pretty short. That being said, we still recommend trying to get a couple of guesses under your belt to see which letters you can rule out, then narrow down the possibilities from there. By using the color-coded clues, you’ll be able to determine which answers don’t make the cut, and that will improve your chances significantly.

However, if you’re still having trouble or if you’re already down to your last attempt, we’ve got today’s Wordle answer here to help you maintain your streak.

That does it for our list of 5 letter words starting with SHO. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on Wordle.

Are Diablo Immortal Servers Down? How to Check Server Status

1 year 10 months ago

Diablo Immortal, the renowned action RPG title from Blizzard Entertainment, is available across multiple gaming platforms. However, like other online multiplayer games, Diablo Immortal servers sometimes encounter problems that affect connectivity. While server outages are pretty rare, there are times when the developers take the server offline to roll out the new update. When this happens, you should check the Diablo Immortal server status before performing any troubleshooting steps.

As of writing, all Diablo Immortal servers are online and running as usual, meaning players can queue for the games without issues. If you’re facing any connectivity problems, we highly recommend checking your internet connection before accessing the Blizzard servers. The easiest way to do that is by booting up any other online game and connecting to its online servers. If it doesn’t connect, the issue is probably occurring on your end.

Undertale’s Toby Fox Composed Some of the Music in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

1 year 8 months ago

A new trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the next games in the Pokemon series, was shown earlier today, and we learned after that fact that a familiar composer helped make some of the music possible. Toby Fox, the developer of hit indies Undertale and Deltarune, confirmed that he composed the field music for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet as well as some other tracks in the game.

Fox revealed this information on Twitter a few hours after the trailer launched:

Fox has some experience with working alongside Game Freak on music for the Pokemon series; back in 2019, he was asked to compose a track for Pokemon Sword and Shield. His song became one of the Battle Tower themes in the game.

Dolmen Review – A Souls-like Without a Soul

1 year 10 months ago

Dolmen on PC

With plenty of options to choose from when it comes to Souls games or others that fall into the Souls-like genre, Massive Work Studio and Prime Matter’s Dolmen already has its work cut out for it. While no one is expecting anything near the levels of Elden Ring, this game doesn’t help itself by trying to replicate the challenge expected in the genre without having the support structure in place. The use of difficulty for difficulty’s sake is just not enticing at all.

Before we even dive in that deep, here’s the premise of Dolmen. The game takes place on a faraway planet called Revlon Prime, and the narrative revolves around crystals that are called “Dolmen” which can be used in connecting alternate realities. Obviously, that never turns out well as the planet is overrun by enemies of all manner, and it is up to the player to clean house and figure out what is going on.

John Madden Returns for Madden NFL 23 Cover After More than 20 Years

1 year 10 months ago

The Madden series has been part of gaming since 1988, delivering a virtual recreation of American football that has been entertaining players for years. Now, 34 years after the first game was released, Electronic Arts is paying homage to the iconic John Madden, who will once again grace the cover with Madden NFL 23.

Madden, who passed away in December 2021 at the age of 85, has not been on the cover since Madden 2000, which was released back in 1999. After that, EA began using players for the game’s covers instead.

“Coach Madden has been synonymous with the sport of football for more than 50 years and to honor his legacy for the next generation, Coach Madden returns to the cover of Madden NFL 23 for the first time in more than two decades,” Electronic Art said in a blog post.

Madden NFL 23 will feature three different variant covers, with each one a “tribute to a different chapter in Coach Madden’s unforgettable life.” The All Madden Edition cover will be familiar to those that have seen the original, the next being an image of Madden celebrating after Super Bowl XI in 1977, and the last showcases Madden in the analyst role later in his career.

What the Download & Install Size Is for Diablo Immortal

1 year 10 months ago

Today, free-to-play ARPG Diablo Immortal from developer Activision Blizzard launched earlier than expected. Only the mobile version is currently live, though, with the title sitting comfortably at the #1 spot on the iOS’ App Store and Android’s Google Play. While it is exciting that anyone can jump on board and see what the game is all about now, you need to make sure you have the right amount of phone space to download and install it.

The same goes for PC, which has a pre-download option for those eager to rush into Hell on June 2 or 3 depending on your location. The beauty of Diablo Immortal’s cross-platform play is that you can lean on one of the two systems if another is lacking in space. So, we’ll explain what the download and install size is for Diablo Immortal on both platforms so you can make that decision!

Mobile & PC Download and Install Size for Diablo Immortal

The download and install sizes (disk space requirements) for Android and iOS devices are different and come with additional in-game patches. In the case of iOS on the App Store, players will need to have 3.5GB of space available to download Diablo Immortal; Android’s Google Play option sits at 2.4GB.

The iOS version has an additional 9.5GB patch that can be installed in-game, slowly patching in content and rewarding players with resources for the wait. The same goes for the Google Play version but hikes up to 10GB. Like all big-time mobile titles, it’s recommended that players download and install Diablo Immortal with a stable Wi-Fi connection.

What the Max Level Cap Is in Diablo Immortal

1 year 10 months ago

So, you have chosen a path as the Neplahem and will be going up against the forces of evil in Diablo Immortal, the latest entry in the ARPG series. Getting the basics right is always a good way to start, but so is knowing your end goal. Whether you choose to be a Barbarian or a Monk, or anything in between, getting to be the strongest you can be will make defeating demons that much easier. If you have been wondering about what the max level cap is in Diablo Immortal, you are in the right place.

Diablo Immortal Max Level Cap

For returning players, the max level cap in Diablo Immortal should not be a mystery. That’s right, any class in the game will reach a maximum of level 60. No matter how the journey turns out, you are not going to go past that 60 mark.

However, that doesn’t mean that it is the end, as at max level, you will have more options to enjoy the game in the form of Rifts, Helliquary Raids, and much more. Perhaps more intriguing is the Paragon system that kicks into gear once you hit the max level cap in Diablo Immortal.

This will allow you to enhance your chosen character even further, allowing for more unique skills to come into play as well as stat bonuses that can make a world of difference. There is theoretically no limit to your Paragon level, but unlocking all of the nodes will take 600 points. You are free to vanquish the forces of evil for as long as you want, just remember to heal every once in a while to receive the maximum reward.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is brutal but balanced

1 year 10 months ago

Even having piled around 80 hours a piece into every Monster Hunter since the exquisite fourth outing on 3DS I'd still consider myself as something of a casual fan; happy to blunder through the main quests and just as happy to be carried through High Rank quests, by the time the Master Rank-focussed expansions come around I've usually got to admit I'm well out of my depth.

I loved Monster Hunter World but am not ashamed to admit that hard-edged expansion Iceborne kicked my arse, so I was heading into Monster Hunter Rise's own hard-edged expansion Sunbreak with some trepidation. Here's an expansion that is loosely in line with G-Rank or Ultimate editions of previous games, introducing new monsters, new locales and most importantly that all-important Master Rank that brings with it an all-new level of challenge. Thankfully Sunbreak has a little besides that makes it more palatable for those like myself who like a smoother ride.

First, though, let's talk about the new stuff - or at least the small slice of new stuff I was able to sample in two quick hunts offered up as part of the preview round for Sunbreak. There's a new hub, with Elgado swapped out for Kamura while the Citadel provides the big new area - the only one revealed to date - with a scale on par with the larger maps of Monster Hunter World. For all that, though, the biggest change is the aesthetic.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is a tough yet accessible expansion

1 year 10 months ago

Seregios can get stuffed. I recently faced off against the massive golden dragon during a hands-on session for Sunbreak, the upcoming expansion pack for Monster Hunter Rise, and it battered me repeatedly for the best part of an hour. It has become the flying white whale to my dual blade wielding Ahab, and I left the preview event determined to chop it to bits when the DLC finally arrives later this month.

Sunbreak’s new master rank quests aren’t messing around, basically. It seems Capcom have taken criticisms that the base version of Monster Hunter Rise didn’t provide challenging enough end-game content to heart, and have loaded the expansion with some truly agonising encounters purpose-built for returning veterans.

Monster Hunter Devs Explain Why Lagiacrus Won’t Be in Sunbreak

1 year 10 months ago

Monster Hunter producer Ryozo Tsujimoto has explained why fan-favorite monster Lagiacrus won’t be making a return in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.

Tsujimoto and Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak director Yoshitake Suzuki spoke to IGN about the upcoming expansion, and detailed why Lagiacrus was passed over, even though “the desire is definitely there.”

“Unfortunately Lagiacrus is just a very technological…difficult monster to implement. It's very snake-like, its parts are all kind of touching the ground at different moments,” Tsujimoto explained. “So it's very like a writhing sort of ground-based monster.”

Tsujimoto continued to explain that the variety of terrain – and its many inclines and drops – in recent Monster Hunter games makes it especially difficult to implement monsters like Lagiacrus.

“We'd like to look back on it sometime, but just the technological difficulties, they are kind of daunting,” lamented Tsujimoto.

Lagiacrus was introduced as one of the first Leviathan monsters in Monster Hunter Tri as a flagship monster. Though there are other Leviathans in Rise, like Monster Hunter Generations’ Mizutsune and newcomer Almudron, Lagiacrus has a few additional design difficulties that the other Leviathans don’t seem to share.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Hands-On Preview

Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Hands On Demo Preview Lunagaron Seregios Follower Quest

May’s Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Digital Event gave us a good look into what to expect for the upcoming paid expansion. The 16-minute-long presentation showcased some of Sunbreak’s new areas, debut monsters, and gameplay tweaks. We also saw variations on well-known monsters that fans can encounter in the fresh experience. And while this gave us a lot to chew on, we couldn’t wait to explore all the new changes ourselves. We recently sat down with Sunbreak’s team and got a hands-on preview of the expansion, which featured two different quests, a peek at unique locales, characters, and, of course, monsters.

My adventure begins in Elgado Outpost, a location filled with European-inspired architecture, which Director Yoshitake Suzuki describes as a “former fortress that is now being used as an outpost for the hunters and the organizations that you’ll meet in the game.” Being an early build of a work still in progress, the preview’s visuals were perhaps not as polished as the final result. However, the town’s various Western influences swirl together to give it a lively personality. The new outpost doesn’t step entirely away from Rise’s design, though, as residents of Kamura Village leave their own mark on the settlement.

A Jubilee street party in Minecraft is the least worst version of the actual Jubilee, I guess

1 year 10 months ago

Because I now live in a country that isn't the UK, I get different bank holidays to staff in the UK, which it turns out is almost everyone else. This means I'm at work today and Friday. For other people outside the UK who don't know, this weekend it is celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. She's the first UK monarch to manage 70 years on the throne, most of the other ones having killed each other or somesuch. The country, specifically England, has responded to this by going absolutely off the boil, represented even in digi-form with a virtual street party map in Minecraft. I wouldn't normally write about it, but it gives me an excuse to republican-post on main when nobody is looking.

For example, players that receive a duplicate will unlock alternate skins, voice emotes, and special effects.

Rewards for obtaining duplicate skins will be distributed through a "level" system. Upon obtaining another Sephiroth (FF7R) skin, players will level up and receive the reward on the next tier.

The tiers are as follows:

Level 1

He also elaborated on the reason for creating Follower Quests, which was to create a better single-player experience for those who prefer to engage in hunts without other players. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

Suzuki elaborates on the lack of Village Quests in Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak by pointing out the design for Elgado, the new player hub that will appear in the expansion. In their place, Master Rank quests will function similarly to Hub Quests. For these quests, players can engage in co-op or take on these hunts solo if they prefer. This is different from Village Quests, which could only be done alone.

Regarding Follower Quests, Suzuki states that while multiplayer is one of the most popular features in Monster Hunter, they wanted to accommodate those who are more used to single-player games.

Genshin Impact Story Trailer Discusses the Yakshas

The latest Genshin Impact story quests and The Chasm area hinted at details about Xiao and the yakshas. Now there’s a video online offering a bit more backstory. Rather than focusing on one of the yakshas we know, it involves a member of the group remembering their identity and role.

Editor’s Note: There will be some Genshin Impact story spoilers below if you haven’t been keeping up with the Archon Quests, The Chasm, and Liyue’s lore.

The video begins with one yaksha asking for a person named Menogias. That is one of the known members of the group who protected Liyue and fought for Morax’s sake. Rather, there’s a mage named Boyang who happened upon this person, who is eventually revealed to be Bosacius. The two came to The Chasm to fight together, and ended up sealed away. As the two talk, Bosacius and Boyang both begin to recall more about their past. Bosacius also eventually ends up also calling for a figure named Alatus. Once he does, he recalls all of the other four yaksha he considered his siblings.

Shin Ultraman Ultimate Article figure by Megahouse

Megahouse will release Ultimate Article figures of Ultraman from the Shin Ultraman movie. The large figure will have swappable arms, along with battery-powered audio and LED eyes.

The figure will have an overall height of around 40 cm (approximately 15 3/4 inches). Most of the parts will be immovable and attached to the pedestal. However, the set will come with a pair of swappable arms. The owner will be able to choose between the regular fighting stance and the signature Spacium Beam attack.

Megahouse also published a new trailer highlighting the figure's audio and lighting features. The pedestal will have a switch to activate different modes. The first toggle to ON1 will mimic Ultraman's eyes lighting upon finishing the transformation. ON2 will play the sounds of the Spacium Beam attack and the flight afterward. The owner will have to personally install three AAA batteries into the pedestal for these features to work.

GeForce Now Will No Longer Support God of War Starting Next Month

1 year 10 months ago

God of War will no longer be available in the GeForce Now library beginning next month, Nvidia announced today.

Beginning July 1st, both the Steam and Epic Games Store versions of God of War will be unplayable on Nvidia's cloud gaming service. In an email sent to IGN, an Nvidia spokesperson confirmed that God of War was being pulled from the service because "the publisher, who previously opted into streaming on GeForce Now," decided to opt out.

Fortunately, Nvidia confirmed that thanks to GeForce Now's opt-in process, which allows some games to continue to be available to subscribers on a legacy basis, players that started playing God of War on GeForce Now before July 1st, will still have access. The only requirement is that GeForce Now subscribers need to load and access the game's main menu via GeForce Now at least once before the title is pulled from the service.

God of War arrived on GeForce Now back in late April, and it allowed RTX 3080 tier members to stream the game on the cloud at up to 4K resolution or have a frame rate as high as 120 FPS, depending on the device.
