Anthony Mackie, perhaps best known as Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (although he does have a new role in it now), was cast as the series’ star last September and now we know who will be playing the most iconic character from the Twisted Metal franchise, Sweet Tooth. It will be none other than Will Arnett, the voice of Batman in The Lego Batman Movie and the titular character in Bojack Horseman

You Can Watch 7 Minutes Of Sonic Frontiers Open-World Gameplay Right Now

1 year 10 months ago

Sonic Frontiers Open World Gameplay

Yesterday, Sega debuted roughly 30 seconds of Sonic Frontiers open-world gameplay and today, you can now watch more than seven minutes of gameplay, courtesy of IGN. It’s basically an extended look at what was showcased yesterday and it looks great.

Right off the bat, it’s beautiful – looking more realistic than any Sonic game before, too – and it’s clear that speed is the name of the game because there’s virtually nothing in the way of stopping the Blue Blur. It’s cliche to say, but it looks like if you see something in the distance, there’s a way for you to speed all the way over there, be it by rail, ramp, on ground, or something else. Take a look for yourself below:

As you can see, running isn’t all that’s in this extended gameplay look. There are plenty of Sonic staples, like on-ground boosts, bumpers, and more. Plus, there are towers that act as platforming challenges, tasking you with reaching the top. Elsewhere, there are simple puzzles to solve that involve stepping on lit switches as well as a speed wheel (think: hamster wheel, or hedgehog wheel, I suppose) that seems to do something to the surrounding area. Maybe it defogs a map, or unlocks new areas to explore. Only time will tell for now.

1 year 10 months ago

By the name of the Emperor, it’s Warhammer Skulls again. For the second year in a row, Games Workshop has done an E3-style blowout showcase of its video game partnerships, both upcoming and ongoing. Below you can find every single thing announced at Warhammer Skulls 2022. The 13 main announcements include everything from brand new games, including a Warhammer 40,000 RPG, to updates on Total War: Warhammer 3 and Vermintide 2, as well as fresh details on Warhammer 40K: Darktide and Space Marine 2.

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader Announced

Someone has finally decided to make an RPG set in the Warhammer 40k universe! And that someone is Owlcat Games, the studio behind the rather good Pathfinder games. Rogue Trader is a classic-style RPG with all the usual genre staples; isometric camera, companions to recruit, turn-based combat, and a variety of enemies to kill and locations to visit. Little is known of the story or if a Black Library writer is involved, but your Rogue Trader protagonist is set to be joined by a Space Marine (a Space Wolf by the look of the key art), a Sister of Battle, and an Aeldari Ranger. No release date has been announced, but you can already buy a Founder’s Pack that guarantees access to the alpha and beta versions.

Konami Promises New Bomberman Games are on the Way as It Closes the Last One

1 year 10 months ago

Konami revealed that it is working on brand new Bomberman projects just as the company prepares to close the servers for Super Bomberman R Online. The servers will be officially shut down on December 1.

"This service has continued to operate with the support of many users since its launch in May 2021, but due to various circumstances, we have decided to terminate the service on all platforms on December 1, 2022, at 01:00:00 (UTC)," Konami says on its own website.

"The 'Bomberman' series is moving forward with new projects. We hope to be able to inform you of this project soon," Konami continues. "Thank you for your continued support of the 'Bomberman' series."

Super Bomberman R Online has already ended the sale of Bomber Coins and Premium packs as of today, but those that were purchased beforehand can still be used until the servers close in December.

Super Bomberman R was a launch title for Nintendo Switch all the way back in 2017. The free-to-play online-only version, Super Bomberman R Online first launched on Google Stadia in September 2020. It then came to Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One in May 2021.

In our Super Bomberman R review, we said, "Super Bomberman R’s multiplayer versatility and boss-filled story mode are laudable retreads of classic gameplay, but its depth and customizability are disappointing."

God of War’s PC Port Gets a Quality Boost, Without You Having to Upgrade Hardware

1 year 10 months ago

God of War PC received a new update yesterday, supporting AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 2.0.

As mentioned in the brief patch notes, God of War PC's update v1.0.12 includes support for FSR 2.0 and is now available as a resolution-scaling option located in the display settings menu of the game. FSR 2.0 was released last month and is the next iteration of AMD's supersampling tech, which debuted last year.

As announced a few months back, FSR 2.0 offers better image quality compared to its predecessor, promising higher frame rates over the original iteration, and is aimed to compete more closely with Nvidia's DLSS 2.0.

Some notable differences between FSR 2.0 and DLSS 2.0 include the latter using machine learning, while the former's solution optimizes anti-aliasing based on temporal data. Additionally, unlike DLSS, which supports only Nvidia RTX cards, AMD's FSR is open-source, meaning it is compatible with both AMD and Nvidia GPUs, in addition to Xbox game consoles. However, the second iteration of FSR 2.0 does make a ton of optimizations for AMD cards, more specifically, the RX 6000 series, like the RX 6950 XT.

Madden NFL 23's Cover Star Is the Late John Madden Himself

1 year 10 months ago

The cover star of Madden NFL 23 is the late coach and commentator, John Madden himself. The legendary figure will appear on all three editions of the game.

The move pays respect to Madden, who died in December last year. The cover art for this year's digital edition also pays homage to the original John Madden Football game released in 1988 – you can see the old and new art side by side below.

While Madden appeared on every cover throughout the '90s his last appearance was in 2000, when the franchise switched to spotlighting NFL athletes instead of its namesake. This year, however, Madden will feature on each of the game's three covers.

Here's seven more minutes of Sonic Frontiers' open-world gameplay

1 year 10 months ago

Following yesterday's brief gameplay tease, Sega has released a considerably more substantial seven minutes of Sonic Frontiers gameplay, offering a much clearer look at how the hedgehog's first foray into open-world platforming will likely play out.

Yesterday's footage was perhaps most notable for the rather muted art style Sega has opted for this time around, with the game - at least from what we've seen so far - placing Sonic in a realistically hewn world that almost feels closer to the sodden, boulder-pocked hillsides of Death Stranding than it does the colour-blasted Sonic backdrops of old.

We get to see a lot more of that expansive landscape in Sega's newly shared seven minutes of Sonic Frontiers gameplay (thanks IGN), with the bulk of the footage focused on leisurely exploration as Sonic roams around, solving puzzles to unlock new elements in the world.

How to Play Music in Roblox

1 year 10 months ago

One of the coolest aspects of Roblox is the ability to listen to all sorts of music while you’re busy having fun playing games with your friends. However, the music codes that you input into the game sometimes don’t work, which can obviously be pretty frustrating, especially if you just want to sit back and relax with some tunes. In this guide, we’ll explain how to play music in Roblox. So, without further ado, let’s get started, shall we?

How to Redeem Music Codes in Roblox

The specific method of redeeming music codes in Roblox varies from game to game. Nevertheless, the general process largely remains the same. For example, to redeem a music code in Roblox Royale High, all you’ll need to do is visit your apartment and head over to your music player.

Next, click on your music player and then tap on ‘Add song’. You can then type the specific code for the song you want into the box at the bottom of your screen. Be careful as the codes are case-sensitive so you’ll need to make sure that you’re putting capital letters and lower-case letters in the correct place, otherwise, the codes won’t work.

French Manga & Anime Site Kazé Is Merging With Crunchyroll

1 year 10 months ago

Today, Crunchyroll revealed that the french website Kazé, best known for manga, DVD and Blu-ray publishing, will now become Crunchyroll. For more than 30 years, the platform brought manga and animated home videos to France and Germany, and is responsible for shows like Silent Voice, Code Geass, Bleach, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, and My Hero Academia being available in these countries.

When speaking on the merger, Crunchyroll President Rahul Purini had the following to say regarding the acquisition of Kazé:

“Anime and manga go hand in hand. While we salute the extraordinary work done by Kazé for nearly 30 years in France, we are delighted to take Crunchyroll to the next level through these manga and home video activities. We are happy to continue to leverage the long experience of the internal teams that made Kazé successful to take Crunchyroll to new heights.”

Kazé is just the latest addition to the platform’s portfolio in 2022. Earlier this year, Crunchyroll and Funimation unified their brands, making it so that Funimation, Wakanim, and Crunchyroll’s VRV all become one subscription.

Total War: Warhammer 3 Immortal Empires Beta Teased With New Trailer; Confirmed for Q3 2022

1 year 10 months ago

Today Creative Assembly released a new teaser trailer of a much-anticipated feature of their strategy game Total War: Warhammer 3.

The feature is, of course, the Immortal Empire campaign that will merge all three Total War: Warhammer Games, letting you play all over the world of the game with every single playable faction.

The beta of Immortal Empires has been confirmed for Q3, meaning that players will have to wait a bit longer before waging war for the whole Warhammer world.

The trailer shows old friends and enemies, including Karl Franz. Hopefully, he’ll be a bit stronger in Immortal Empires, since I had to save him from annihilation in two campaigns in a row while reviewing the game.

Total War: Warhammer 3 is currently available exclusively for PC.

If you’re unfamiliar with the game, you can enjoy an official description.

“The last roar of a dying god ruptures the boundary between worlds, opening a portal to the Realm of Chaos. From this maelstrom, the four Ruinous Powers – Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeentch and Slaanesh – emerge, spreading darkness and despair.

How to Get All Markers in Roblox Find The Markers

1 year 5 months ago

Even though the premise for Roblox’s Find The Markers title is incredibly simple, its popularity has really grown recently. In fact, the seek-’em-up experience has accrued almost half a billion visits since its inception last year. No small feat, indeed! If you’re here, though, you’re likely wondering how to find all the Markers in Roblox Find The Markers. Well, you’re in the right place. Let’s start finding all 202 of those pesky Markers, shall we?

All Marker Locations in Roblox Find The Markers

Here are the locations of all 202 Markers in Roblox Find The Markers:

Easy Markers

Purple Marker

Ready for the easiest Marker ever? This one is a cinch. It’s literally right in front of you when you spawn into the game atop the Pedestal of Awesome. Next!

Archer Marker

Firstly, from spawn head towards the big clock tower nearby, next to the abandoned houses. Walk around to the back of the clock tower to find a near-invisible ladder and climb up. Now, go to the front of the clock tower and climb up another near-invisible ladder and when you reach the face of the clock, you’ll be teleported to the Washable Kingdom. Here, go to the right side of the castle and you’ll reach the archery area to find your second Marker.

Baby Marker

Go to the Abandoned City, and enter the first house on your left. Go up the stairs, and you’ll find the Baby Marker under the bed.

Ball Marker

Another really easy one! All you need to do is look around spawn and you’ll find the Ball Marker.

Bee Marker

Head to the Forest Biome, behind the cabin is the Bee Marker in the tree above.

All Elden Ring locations, ranked

1 year 10 months ago

Ever have an idea that you regret the instant you commit to realising it? That's how I feel about my decision to rank all of Elden Ring's major locations. It turns out that, not only are there a lot of locations in Elden Ring, but the definition of a distinct location is largely up for debate. The opening area of Limgrave, for example, could be as many as four separate regions (East Limgrave, West Limgrave, Stormhill and Weeping Peninsula) depending on how you interpret it. That's not to mention all of the dungeons, caves, chapels, and other landmarks scattered throughout the Lands Between.

Yet like a newly minted Wretch squaring up to Margit the Fell Omen for the first time, I am prepared to plough on despite the pain that awaits. Below you'll find a comprehensive ranking of Elden Ring's major regions and legacy dungeons, based on the admittedly woolly criteria of how fun and interesting each location is to explore. So grab your map, put on your boots, and update your life insurance policy as we embark upon a grand tour of From Software's magnificent fantasy realm.

Sonic Frontier Gameplay Shows Sonic Climbing a Tower, Grinding Rails

There's a new look at Sonic Frontiers gameplay. Sega had IGN share a first peek at the game. This involved about seven minutes of Sonic the Hedgehog exploring the new open-world environment. [Thanks, IGN!]

The video officially starts at the 42 second mark. It shows Sonic approaching a tower. Various mechanisms like boost rings, boost pads, walls he can grapple or run along, and grind rails appear on it. All of these are designed to help him reach the summit. After he reaches the top, he heads down to solid ground again. Once he’s there, he runs along the landscape. People can see some roads and rails designed to act as bridges or help him reach various spaces. He also collects things like hearts and rings as he travels.

At the four minute mark, Sonic encounters a puzzle. He needs to turn some statues in order to open a door to another area. After that, another puzzle appears. This one involves running in circles around flames to reveal another mystery.

Here’s the full IGN First Sonic Frontiers gameplay video.

Undertale Creator Toby Fox Is Composing Music for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Today, Fox shared a Tweet alongside the new trailer and announced that he had composed the game’s field theme. According to Fox, Game Freak arranged a draft of his composition into various versions that will play throughout the game.

Lootboxes are Manipulative and Exploitative According to New Report

1 year 10 months ago

The Norwegian Consumer Council (NCC) has called loot boxes in games manipulative and exploitative in a report backed by consumer groups across Europe.

The conversation around loot boxes and their resemblance (or lack thereof) to gambling has been an ongoing discussion in recent years, especially in Europe where 20 consumer councils across 18 countries have now shown support for the NCC's report.

As reported by the BBC, one supporter of the report is the European Consumer Organisation, a consumer protection group that raises issues directly with the European Union.

"The sale and presentation of loot boxes often involve exploiting consumers through predatory mechanisms, fostering addiction, targeting vulnerable consumer groups and more."

"The sale and presentation of loot boxes often involve exploiting consumers through predatory mechanisms, fostering addiction, targeting vulnerable consumer groups and more," said the NCC's director of digital policy, Finn Myrstad.

The report itself said it's "obvious" that loot box systems in games are "predatory, manipulative, and exceedingly aggressive", especially because some of these games are targeted at children.

Activision Blizzard pulled the sale of Diablo: Immortal in Belgium and the Netherlands just yesterday (May 31) over the two countries' laws that require companies that sell loot boxes to have a gambling license.

Everything You Need To Know About Lechonk in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

1 year 8 months ago

Lechonk is love, Lechonk is life. Future scholars will discuss how this small yet dense creature brought about world peace with its adorable frame. One snort from this little piggy and you’ll instantly want to raise it up to level 100 without using a single Exp. Candy, savoring every second of time with this little rascal. Here’s everything you need to know about Lechonk in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

What is Lechonk in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

Lechonk is just a cute little Pokemon that looks like a pig. It’s not anything special, but cuteness seems to get you a long way in the world of Pokemon — just look at Pikachu. This ‘mon first appeared in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet versions.

Lechonk’s Description

According to the description of this little guy, it’s actually mostly muscle despite its relatively rotund appearance. Lechonk build up this muscle mass by constantly running around for food.

Besides its surprisingly muscular body, it also has an incredible sense of smell. Much like pigs in real life that are used to find truffles, Lechonk is able to use its superior olfactory organs to find extremely fragrant grasses and rich berries. Because of this, the Pokemon tends to emit smells that repel Bug-type ‘mons.

Although it’s cute and can keep bugs away, it’s can be dangerous. When threatened or startled, Lechonk is known to start charging forwards. Even though it’s small, this little piggy can knock you off your feet.

Microsoft Flight Simulator Airbus A330 Gets New Screenshots; Brussels South Charleroi Airport & Beijing Announced; Yanji Released

1 year 10 months ago

Third-party developers had new reveals about Microsoft Flight Simulator add-ons to share on top of a new release.

We start with Aerosoft, which released a lot of new screenshots of both the external model and the flight deck of its upcoming Airbus A330.

It’s worth repeating a cautionary note about the flight deck from project manager Mathijs Kok:

“These images show you the base modeling of the VC. So all 3D is done. the base layers of textures are done. It still needs a bit of detail using decals (all in the sub centimeter scale) and it still needs all the weathering. So it is as if it was just delivered from Toulouse. No pilot has eaten a Big Mac in it yet and got ketchup on all the switches.”

Card Shark Review - Bad Luck At The Tables

1 year 10 months ago

Reviewed on: Switch
Platform: Switch, PC
Publisher: Devolver Digital
Developer: Nerial
Release:

Novel concepts are worth their weight in gold, and Card Shark comes out swinging with an idea you’re unlikely to have encountered before. Set in 18th century France, players take on the role of a destitute and mute drink server who is lifted into high society by a puffed-up card cheat. Along the path to riches, a deep conspiracy is uncovered, touching the lives of everyone in upper-class society, and playing out in backroom parlors, Corsican pirate dens, and royal palaces. It’s a clever and appealing setup, but it can only carry the game so far. With gameplay that feels like a chore from beginning to end, I was eager for this card game to reach its final round.

How Much Does Amber Heard Owe Johnny Depp for Defamation? Answered

1 year 10 months ago

The Johnny Depp and Amber Heard Defamation Case verdict is finally here. After weeks of accusations and piles of evidence, the court has ruled in favor of Johnny Depp. So now that the actor has won the lawsuit, how much does Amber Heard owe Johnny Depp for the Defamation Trial? The only way to answer this question is by examining the prosecution’s charges.

What Does Amber Heard Owe Johnny Depp for Defamation Case?

The court has stated that Amber Heard owes Johnny Depp 15 million dollars for two types of damages: 10 million in compensatory damages and five million in punitive damages. The catalyst of these events started when the actress released an op-ed with the Washington Post, which led Depp to resign from his roles in Pirates of the Caribbean and the Fantastic Beasts franchise.

Depp had originally sued her for 50 million in defamation charges, while Heard sought out 100 million in a countersue. However, he is still humbled by the outcome of the case, as shown in this Twitter post:

Free Valorant ‘Pride’ Bundle Is Available Now

1 year 10 months ago

Riot Games is celebrating Pride with a themed Valorant bundle this week, which has launched today and is available in stores now. Aptly called ‘Pride,’ it’s a follow-on from an almost identical bundle last year, featuring a new gun buddy but the same eight player cards. Each card is decorated with a different Pride flag, offering players a way to show their support to the LGBTQIA+ community.

If you’re interested, make sure you actually go and download the bundle as it isn’t added to your collection automatically. At least there’s no finicky process to obtaining the bundle this time around. It’s actually in your shopfront now from June 1-31, listed as 0VP and as simple to grab as clicking a button.

Riot said in a blog post earlier this week:

Pride Month is here! Pride is a time to come together, celebrate LGBTQIA+ communities, recognize the progress we’ve made, and continue working toward creating inclusive spaces for all people.

If you’re a fan of the publisher’s other titles then you’ll also be glad to know there are a bunch of Pride-related freebies for games like League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, Legends of Runeterra, and Wild Rift.

How to Play Cross-Play Multiplayer with PC & Mobile in Diablo Immortal

1 year 10 months ago

Despite having initially been pitched as a mobile-only title, Blizzard’s latest Diablo game is available on both PC and mobile platforms. Thankfully, the game offers full cross-progression across both platforms and it features cross-play between each as well. So you’re clear on the process, though, here’s how to play cross-play in Diablo Immortal between PC and Mobile.

How to Play PC & Mobile Cross-Play Multiplayer in Diablo Immortal

Cross-play in Diablo Immortal isn’t something you have to activate, nor is there a dedicated server that features the functionality. Instead, all players will encounter those playing from other platforms; it’s possible to link up with players on different hardware so long as they are playing on the same server as you. You can find out more about the game’s various servers in our dedicated article here.

As for cross-progression, the functionality works so long as you’re making sure to sign into the game using your Battle.net account. Do note that by default, you’ll be logged into a guest account, so again, make sure it’s the same as your battle.net account to ensure your progress is saved between platforms.

The official word was outlined in a blog post about cross-platform in which Blizzard said: “Alternatively, if you start playing Diablo Immortal on mobile, you may either sign in to your Battle.net account or you will be supplied a guest account. If you have a Battle.net account, then you will be able to seamlessly transfer in-between playing on either platform simply by logging into your Battle.net account.”

Elden Ring Randomizer Mod Unleashes Chaos Across the Lands Between

1 year 10 months ago

A new randomizer mod for Elden Ring gives PC players the ability to completely change the way the game plays by changing the location of enemies, bosses, and even key items needed to complete the main quest.

Modder Matt Gruen announced the Item and Enemy Randomizer back in April, but in a tweet posted Monday, he confirmed that the mod is now "feature complete." Gruen promises a host of fixes and expanded features for the future, but for now, at least, it appears to be ready for everyone to dive into.

Item and Enemy Randomizer allows players to completely alter the game's overall layout by randomizing the placement of various elements like items and enemies.

Gruen shows this off with a short clip of one of the game's most challenging endgame bosses, Malenia, waltzing around the open fields of Limgrave – Elden Ring's first biome.
