If you’ve watched any of Sony Pictures Entertainment’s marketing for its upcoming Uncharted movie, then you’re likely aware that it has its own take on the infamous cargo plane scene from the third installment of the video game series.
In one of the highlights of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, protagonist Nathan Drake attempts to crawl from one cargo piece to the next, back to the safety of a plane. Things don’t end well for him as the plane comes to a fiery crash, leaving Drake stranded in a desert. Sony’s upcoming Uncharted movie, which stars Tom Holland as Drake and Mark Wahlberg as mentor and right-hand man Victor “Sully” Sullivan, features a very similar cinematic, and after being teased throughout multiple trailers, the full sequence has been released.
Click here to watch embedded mediaAs you can see in the extended scene above, this movie features the whole “shootout in the plane before there’s a shootout and parkour section on the dangling cargo,” just like Uncharted 3. However, the movie has its own twist on the event in that it doesn’t seem like the plane is going to burn in a fiery crash landing toward Earth. Instead, we see Chloe Frazer, played by Sophia Taylor Ali, accelerate a car toward an antagonist in the plane.
Playground Games studio Gavin Raeburn co-founder is leaving after 12 years with the company, it has been announced today. Trevor Williams, general manager and co-founder, will replace him. Microsoft’s CVP of Forza and Fable, Alan Hartman, said in a statement to Windows Central:
After 12 years working on five award-winning Forza Horizon games, Gavin Raeburn is leaving Playground Games as Studio Director. A founding member of Playground Games, we thank Gav for his leadership and contributions to the Forza franchise and wish him all the best. Co-founder Trevor Williams will transition from General Manager to Studio Head effective immediately, as the Playground Games team focuses on updates to Forza Horizon 5 and the development of Fable.
Playground Games has been developing the Forza Horizon series since its inception and is expected to continue doing so moving forward in addition to new DLC and updates for its fifth iteration. The studio is also working on a Fable reboot.
As for where Gavin Raeburn is headed next, nothing about his future has yet been disclosed.
Twinfinite reviewed Forza Horizon 5 back in November of last year and absolutely loved it, scoring the game 4.5/5 and concluding:
“With an abundance of multiplayer options and seasonal content frequently released to offer more rewards for your podium finishes, it’s the biggest and best Forza Horizon game you can play right now.”
During CES 2022, Sony has revealed a number of new details about its upcoming VR headset, PlayStation VR 2. We now know the specs of the PSVR 2’s display, the fact its Sense controllers will feature the same haptic feedback and adaptive trigger tech found inside the DualSense controller, and that the headset itself will even have its own sensory feedback and eye-tracking tech for a more immersive experience. All of this sounds very promising for the PSVR 2, but there are some other features and areas where Sony will really need to deliver if it has any hopes of competing with the Oculus Quest 2 and other big boys of the VR space right now.
One of the original PlayStation VR headset’s biggest strengths was just how comfortable it was to wear for long periods of time, which came in clutch when you found yourself fully immersed in the mystical, magical world of VR.
In a serious of coordinated raids, Turkish police have detained 40 people suspected of involvement with a money laundering ring which allegedly used Twitch for money laundering. Supposedly they were using stolen credit card info to buy Bits (Twitch's virtuacurrency), which they would then donate to Twitch streamers who had agreed to give money in return in exchange for keeping a portion for themselves. This first came to light following Twitch's big data leak last year.

Skull & Bones has lost a co-director.
First reported by Video Games Chronicle, Antoine Henry recently revealed on LinkedIn that he's departing from Ubisoft after working for nearly 15 years at the company. Henry says he's onto "new exciting adventures" very soon, which is great. Still, his departure from the company's Singapore studio serves as yet another loss for the Skull & Bones team, which has seemingly struggled to make any headway since its 2017 reveal.
Ghost of Tsushima is an ode to the filmography of acclaimed Japanese director Akira Kurosawa. So, it's only natural that Sucker Punch's visually stunning action/adventure game would find the same success as the samurai flicks that inspired it. Ghost of Tsushima is as popular as ever, with 8 million copies sold.

Techland’s final episode of its Dying 2 Know series of videos, which take a deep dive into different aspects of its upcoming sequel title, is set to premiere next week, Jan 13, the developer as today announced.
Throughout 2021, this behind-the-scenes web series diving deep into the world of Dying Light 2 has stunned fans with reveal after reveal, from new gameplay trailers and combat guides to cast members, music, and more. Previously, Dying 2 Know has premiered Rosario Dawson (The Mandalorian, Sin City) as Lawan, father of parkour David Belle as a key member of the development team, and much more. What surprises await in the sixth and final episode?
Dying Light 2 is a sequel title to the original 2015, which blends fluid first-person running-and-gunning with a post-apocalyptic zombie-infested open-world. Scavenging for supplies, fending off the shuffling menace and completing quests for a ragtag motley crew of survivors is the order of the day. The first game was well-received by critics and fans alike, too, and even had some pretty cool DLC support as well.
Netflix has today continued the rollout of its inside look mini-series of The Witcher featurettes, this time revealing some of the actor/writer’s thoughts on one of season two’s most exciting scenes, dubbed the “monster mash.” Fair warning, this is a big spoiler to those who have not yet seen the whole series yet.
For those who have, you’ll remember the monster mash as the epic showdown at Kaer Morhen between the witchers and Voleth Ciri and her fearsome basilisk that marks the grand finale of the season’s story. Today’s episode features comments from Henry Cavil, Freya Allan, Anya Charlotte, and many more of the cast:
As noted by TheWrap, the 142.4 million hours viewed was nearly three times the next most-viewed TV show, “Money Heist,” which logged 55 million hours viewed in Netflix’s weekly viewership rankings.
Still, Twinfinite wasn’t necessarily pleased with some of the decision-making behind the show’s storytelling; features editor Andrew McMahon recently wrote about his frustration with the handling of Eskel, which you can read here.
If there was one game that dominated video games and the discourse around them in December, it was Halo Infinite. The return of Master Chief to our screens was welcomed by veteran Spartans and newcomers alike and saw the series take its first steps into the open-world format for the first time. Hopping back inside the Spartan armor of Master Chief felt familiar with the fantastic gunplay the series is renowned for, while also feeling distinctly different thanks to the freedom that the open-world design of Zeta Halo offered and the grapple hook that the Chief inherits early on in his adventure.

Marvel’s Spider-Man on PlayStation 4 was a real treat and its remastered version on PlayStation 5 was even better. Despite how great it feels to play as Peter Parker in both versions, one thing neither version could do was really put you behind the Spider-Man mask.
However, one player has come up with a unique way to give people a way to see what the game looks like through Peter Parker’s eyes: stop-motion.
Click here to watch embedded mediaAs you can see in YouTube video above, creator ItIsSpid decided to take on a daunting task to show us what swinging through Insomniac Games’ New York City is like on PlayStation 5, both via Peter Paker and Miles Morales, and it looks amazing. We’re treated to a minute and 40 seconds of hundreds of first-person screenshots (courtesy of the games’ impressive photo modes) and we’ve never wanted a first-person Spider-Man game more.
Of course, it takes a couple of seconds for your eyes to adjust to the stop-motion effect but when it sings, it looks great.
“Using Spider-Man PS5/Miles Morales PS5 photo mode, I decided to try and combine 850+ photos and make a first-person gameplay stop-motion,” ItIsSpid’s YouTube description reads.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction is launching on January 20 and today, Ubisoft announced that it will hit Xbox Game Pass on day one. The company also announced that its own Xbox Game Pass-like service, Ubisoft+, will be coming to Xbox as well.
Ubisoft first teased today’s Xbox-related news on Twitter before revealing shortly after that the next entry in the very popular Rainbow Six series, Extraction, will be on Xbox Game Pass and Game Pass for PC on the game’s launch day of January 20.
Click here to watch embedded mediaThanks to Ubisoft+, too, players will soon be able to play more than 100 Ubisoft games, including DLC for new titles and classics like Assassin’s Creed, as well as receive unique rewards like customization items, boosters, and other in-game perks. Ubisoft+ is already available on Stadia, Amazon Luna, and PC, so if you’re curious to check out the service before it hits Xbox, head to one of those platforms and give it a try.
The musou genre is a long-spanning one with dozens of entries in it, but despite that, it has remained relatively niche in the grand scheme of things.
However, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has helped buck that trend as Omega Force has revealed (on Twitter) that its Zelda musou, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, has shipped a whopping 4 million units since its release back in November of 2020. Of course, “shipped” is very different than “sold,” as this new statistic doesn’t necessarily indicate 4 million people have purchased the game, but manufacturers aren’t going to ship a game to storefronts when said storefronts have plenty in stock.

Drinkbox Studios' new game Nobody Saves the World is a unique action-RPG that lets players take on the role of, well, Nobody, and transform into a host of different, wacky forms. And it's only a couple of weeks away from being released.
The Guacamelee! developers announced that Nobody Saves the World will arrive on Jan. 18 for Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, Windows, and Steam for $24.99. It will also be available via Xbox Game Pass on both Xbox and PC, so subscribers can hop in on day one to the action, which can be played either solo or in online co-op.
Additionally, Nobody Saves the World's soundtrack by Sword and Sworcery composer Jim Guthrie will be available on Steam and streaming platforms the same day as Nobody launches.
IGN went hands-on with Nobody Saves the World early last year and found it retained Drinkbox's penchant for charming, hilarious writing and world-building while delivering a unique approach to RPG progression in its varied world.
Since then, we've learned a bit more about how players will combine and use the powers of Nobody's many forms, Drinkbox's approach to choosing and building out these forms, and more.
Nobody will also be Drinkbox's first online co-op game, though past games from the studio did have local multiplayer. Co-op will be playable with other players in the same platform ecosystem.

What if your gaming computer could breathe, opening its “mouths” wide to gulp in air when it got too hot, or shuttering its orifices to keep out dust and reduce noise? That’s the idea behind CyberPowerPC’s somewhat unsettling Kinetic series PC case.
Sony’s next virtual reality headset is about to exist in non-virtual reality. Last night, at CES 2022, Sony formally announced PlayStation VR2 in a brief segment that offered no info about pricing, availability, or a release date. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk took the Nintendo Indie World Showcase by storm when it debuted back in August 2022, as fans couldn’t help but be dazzled by its Jet Set Radio-inspired look and groove. In order to keep fans happy until its release, developer Team Reptile are providing plenty of teaser trailers that show off all the insane moves the game will have.
You can check the official movestyle teaser for Bomb Rush Cyberfunk yourself down below.
In the description of the video, Team Reptile had the following to say about Bomb Rush Cyberfunk:
Heya everyone this is Dion Koster from Team Reptile, game director of Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. I hope you are all doing well, I wanted to add a supplement to the new teaser we dropped. First off a shout out to Bx’treme who made the track AGUA we used. I got to admit I didn’t know where the samples were from but it sure sounded dope. Google ‘Agua’ for a quick surprise.
Earlier today on Twitter, Beavis and Butt-Head creator Mike Judge revealed that everyone’s favorite unintelligent teenage delinquent couch potatoes from the 90s would be returning this year.
In the tweet below, he also showed off some preliminary drawings of what the two would look like in the upcoming movie, which confirms that they will be aged and out of shape.
This is the second feature film in the franchise, with the first, “Beavis and Butt-Head Do America,” getting released by Paramount back in 1996. The upcoming film will be the first time we’ve seen the characters since 2011 when it was revived for a one-off season and will serve as a precursor to the upcoming series that is set to air for at least two seasons on Comedy Central.
Riot Games has today revealed its latest Agent, Neon, who will be launching in tandem with the game’s fourth episode next week. Much anticipated as a new duelist that could shift the meta with her fast movement, Neon’s abilities are given a decent gameplay showcase in today’s trailer, and they do indeed look pretty OP.
Of course, we’ll have to wait and see how they work in practice, but here’s what we know so far:
Check out her snazzy introductory trailer below. It boasts all the typical production value of Riot Games’ signature Agent trailers, this time combining cinematic and gameplay sequences with a bopping beat over the top.
Today ZeniMax and Bethesda released a new teaser trailer of The Elder Scrolls Online focusing on the content coming across 2022.
Every year, the developers of the popular MMORPG release a new saga usually across four quarterly DLCs, and the trailer provides possible hints to what we can expect this year.
We get to see a beautiful port, ships, an iconic armor, and more.
At the moment, no real details have been provided, but the wait shouldn’t be too long. An official reveal event has been confirmed for Thursday, January 27, at 3:00pm EST or 9:00pm CET depending on where you live.
We’re likely to hear much more then, including the setting and an outline of the story. In the meanwhile, you can check out the trailer below.
The Elder Scrolls Online is currently available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Google Stadia.
If you’re unfamiliar with the game, you can read an official description below.
In 2021, Sony delivered plenty of things fans can be happy about, including lots of exclusive content, console improvements, and, of course, amazing games. Just like with anything related to entertainment, though, the company will need to continue to improve the quality of its product in order to stay relevant in 2022.
To help them stay in the game, we’ve come up with a list of five New Year’s resolutions that Sony should make and keep for 2022 so that they can continue to dominate the video game market. Let’s begin!
Now, it is completely understandable that the COVID pandemic has caused a lot of issues when it comes to the production of PS5. With that said, it is still unfortunate that the console is impossible to find a year after its release.
Today, Xbox announced that Rainbow Six Extraction, a co-op survival spin-off game of Rainbox Six Siege, will be a day one Game Pass release. In other words, if you’re an Xbox or PC Game Pass subscriber, you’ll be able to download Rainbow Six Extraction for free when it comes out on Jan. 20.
On top of that, regular ol’ Rainbow Six Siege will be available on both services as well on the same date. Players that play both games will get access to gear included in the United Front Bundle.
In addition to revealing this exciting development for Rainbow Six fans, Ubisoft & Xbox also dropped the news that Ubisoft+ will be coming to Xbox platforms sometime in the future. Ubisoft+ is a subscription service similar to EA Play that offers up access to a large amount of Ubisoft’s game library pass and present.
There’s not much left to say at this point about Xbox & PC Game Pass. They continue to be the best value in gaming and a major draw for players to play on PC and Xbox home consoles, especially those on a budget that have a thirst for playing lots of different kinds of video games.
Today Developer SimulaM released a new trailer of its upcoming Jesus simulator I am Jesus Christ.
While it’s easy to dismiss this project as a meme, it’s doubtless that its developers take it quite seriously, and have worked diligently on it for two years.
To celebrate that milestone, the trailer showcases the progress of the game from the first concept and character models to today, and a lot of progress has indeed been made, including playable betas.
You can check it out below.
