Borderlands 3’s Bloody Harvest Event Is Back, And Just As Fun As Last Time
No trick, Vault Hunters, Borderlands 3’s latest event is quite a treat. Yesterday, the well-liked “Bloody Harvest” kicked off again. On a surface level, “Bloody Harvest” bears similarity to any other Borderlands event—shoot everything, get guns—but it stands apart by being a total blast with minimal slog. That, and…
Replay – Bioshock Infinite Part 2: Return To Columbia
On last week's show, we took fans on a ride through Columbia and reintroduced them to twisted world of Bioshock Infinite. Unfortunately in that time, we couldn't reach Elizabeth, the catalyst for both gameplay and story, thus not showing off the breadth of what Irrational Games' sequel had to offer. That changes today as we're jumping back on the sky rails once more!
Join Andrew Reiner, Joe Juba, Jeff Cork, and me as we discuss Columbo, the best companion characters in video games, and violently try to steal hats from NPCs in our return to Bioshock Infinite.
We had to prerecord this week's show, but we'll be back in seven days with another fun episode! If you can't get enough of our live shows, remember to subscribe on YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, and Facebook to get notified when we go live each week!

PSVR Will Work On PS5, But Not With The New Camera
As the launch of the PlayStation 5 approaches, Sony is finally detailing important features of its new console. Along with confirmation of which games will (and won't) be backwards compatible and what accessories will work without issue, Sony has detailed how PSVR will work on PS5, along with a hint for its future.
If you own a PSVR headset and want to continue using that on PS5, the good news is that you will be able to without much fuss. The PSVR breakout box and headset will work with Sony's new console, along with accessories such as the PlayStation 4 camera and Move controllers. The camera is an important accessory, too, since Sony has confirmed that the new PS5 camera will not be compatible with PSVR.
Sony states that a PS4 camera adapter will be required for use on the PS5, but the support page isn't clear on whether this is included with the console or not (beyond stating that it will not require a purchase). As is usually the case, it likely won't be included.

Bugsnax releases its weird, unsettling adventure into the wild on November 12
I still barely know what Bugsnax is about. At surface level, it’s apparently an island full of semi-sentient snack foods and the colorful Muppet-like folks who’ve arrived to research them. There’s definitely more to it than that, and we’ll all only have a bit longer to wait to figure out its secrets for ourselves. Bugsnax launches on November 12th, which they’ve announced via an uncanny video showcasing their voice cast.

New Animal Crossing Update Out Now, Here's What It Does
Nintendo has released a new update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This patch is another fairly minor one; it doesn't introduce any new content, but rather primarily addresses a small handful of issues that have cropped up in the game following its big 1.5 update late last month.
According to the patch notes on Nintendo's support website, New Horizons' 1.5.1 update resolves a couple of bugs, including one where Nook Miles keywords would not appear in the passport list, and another that caused villagers to talk about pumpkins when they were given a bamboo shoot. You can read the full patch notes below.
The aforementioned 1.5 update released on September 29 and introduced an assortment of fall-themed content to the game, including the Halloween event, pumpkins, and spooky DIY recipes. Another big New Horizons update is coming in late November, and it appears that one will add the game's Thanksgiving and Christmas events.

Indivisible gets its final update next week as developer Lab Zero closes down
The Indivisible roadmap has come to an abrupt end. This crowdfunded game will cease development without fulfilling all content obligations to backers. That's because developer Lab Zero is being dissolved.
A month ago, it was revealed that Lab Zero underwent massive layoffs as the studio was unable to pay its employees. Now, there's one more Indivisible update on Switch before development and the developer shuts down for good. On October 13, Indivisible's Switch port will get a patch that adds Razmi's Challenges, New Game+, and local co-op. That'll bring the Switch version up to speed with the other platforms.

The Best Crash Bandicoot Games, All 4 Mainline Titles Ranked
The release of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time marks a momentous occasion for the series, offering the first new mainline entry in several decades. 4. Crash Bandicoot
Best Crash Bandicoot Games
To be clear, the first Crash Bandicoot is by no means a bad game.
CoD: Black Ops Cold War Beta Update Adds New Mode And Increases Level Cap
Developer Treyarch has dropped a small update for the beta to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on PlayStation 4 that makes some notable changes.

A series of weapons and equipment--including the AK-74u, tactical mask, SAM Turret, smoke grenade, and others--have also been added as unlocks following the level cap increase.

Don't waste your money on Xbox Series X's expensive proprietary SSD for backward compatibility games
As information continues to trickle out about next-gen consoles, we keep getting new pieces of the puzzle that inform our purchasing decisions. Here's a relatively niche one from Digital Foundry that's going to become increasingly relevant over time: Any old SSD is a good option for storing and running backward compatibility games on Xbox Series X.
Digital Foundry's extensive breakdown is embedded above, but the gist of it is that the Xbox Series X's expensive proprietary nVME SSD doesn't offer much of an advantage over a SATA SSD when it comes to the backward compatibility library. We're talking load speed differential of around one second.
The reason for this is that backward compatibility titles don't make use of the Velocity Architecture that Microsoft has developed for video games on Xbox Series X. Without that optimization, the proprietary SSDs are just acting like SSDs. Considering the price point of an average SATA SSD versus the $220 Seagate Xbox Series X SSD, it'd be foolish to waste precious internal storage space on backward compatible games.
However, and this is important to note, any Xbox Series X optimized title has to run off of the internal storage or the proprietary external SSD (which functions the exact same as the internal SSD). The SATA SSD option is only applicable to backward compatibility for that reason. But, seeing as how every generation of Xbox coming together is one of Microsoft's selling points, most people will probably have some old stuff that they want to keep installed.

Xbox Series X/S gets its first TV ad, starring Daniel Kaluuya
If you've been curious to know how Microsoft and Sony are planning to market their respective consoles to the broader masses at launch now that the likes of us are whipped into a suitable frenzy, a partial answer has arrived in the form of the very first Xbox Series X/S TV advert.
Officially titled "Us Dreamers", it stars Daniel Kaluuya - of Get Out and Black Panther fame - on a spirited (and, as Microsoft puts it, "inspirational") journey across a variety of game-inspired dreamscapes; Halo gets the most obvious nod, for instance, while the likes of what seem to be PUBG, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and Minecraft make slightly more subtle appearances, all adding up to a terrifying cosmic nightmare I can only assume we'll all be perpetually in danger of experiencing first-hand whenever we turn on our Xbox Series X/S.
The advert is part of Microsoft's Power Your Dreams Xbox Series X/S launch campaign, which, it says "speaks to the idea that when we game - whether on console, PC or phone, we dream".

Sam Barlow plans to make a Silent Hill: Shattered Memories-sorta game again
Sam Barlow, the writer and designer of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, has been muttering about plans to make a follow-up of sorts to the 2009 horror game. Not a sequel nor even a game with ‘Silent Hill’ in the name, but a spiritual successor combining bits of that with lessons he’s learned from making other games and a bit of extra oomph. After Shattered Memories, Barlow found fame with voyeuristic FMV games Her Story and Telling Lies. The non-Silent Hill game is still only an idea, mind, one he’s still pitching. But maybe?

Valorant Unveils New Map And Character For Act III
Riot Games is bringing Act III to Valorant starting on October 13. Various elements of the season will roll out over time, with the brand new map hitting immediately. It's called Icebox, and it's aptly named. A frozen facility with two detonation points, the new map has a focus on skirmish gameplay.
Oh, and there's something else new on the map too — the zipline! Get vertical and get fast as you catch your opponents by surprise and speed quickly across the environment. Icebox is slated to be available on October 13.
A bit later into Act III on October 27, players can experience the new agent Skye. Hailing from Australia, Skye is a master of beasts. Kind of like a druid in futuristic military agent form, Skye can impair enemy vision, heal teammates, and sic her beast companions on opponents.

Flame on for Kin'emon in One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4
Bandai Namco has revealed the first DLC character of One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4's third character pack - as if its roster wasn't already bursting at the seams. As revealed in Weekly Famitsu, the next seafaring legend to join the party is the mighty samurai Kin'emon.
Hailing from Wano Country, Kin'emon was once a retainer for the country's powerful rulers, the Kozuki Family. However, once his Wano fell to the Kurozumi Orochi, Kin'emon took to the ocean, searching for brave warriors to aid him in his efforts to take back his homeland. To this end, Kin'emon formed his own party, the Nine Red Scabbards, and has allied with the Straw Hat Pirates on numerous occasions.

New Valorant Agent Skye's Abilities Confirmed Ahead Of Act 3
Valorant players are eager to get their hands on the new Agent, the Aussie Initiator Skye. But while she won't come to the game until October 27, Riot has released new information about Valorant's upcoming Act 3, which comes to PC on October 13.
Most notably, this announcement confirms the leaked details of Skye's kit that were previously posted to Reddit. As her character trailer shows, she has a varied skill-set themed around her various animal guardians, including a hawk that doubles as a flash grenade, a tiger that explodes outward in a damaging blast, and a healing wave that can treat the wounds of allies, but not Skye herself.
Her ultimate ability sends out three jellyfish-like seekers that automatically target nearby opponents and inflict visual interference termed "nearsighting" on a hit. Given that only one Agent can currently heal--Sage, who is generally considered a must-pick, even after several nerfs to her abilities--it's clear that Skye might have an outsized impact on the game's meta.

Resident Evil 3 Remake Filled With Mods Is a Hilarious & Chaotic Mess
We’ve reported on other neat Resident Evil 3 Remake mods before, but this one takes the cake because it’s one singular mod that combines a bunch of other wacky and ridiculous mods.
This one comes from ToastedShoes over on Nexusmods and the video down below comes from Benjamin York on YouTube. These mods change everything that you thought you knew about Resident Evil 3 Remake.
Say goodbye to Jill, Carlos, and Nemesis, and say hello to some super random characters like Shaggy from Scooby-Doo, Rick from Rick and Morty, and of course, Thomas the Tank Engine.
It’s a wild and chaotic mod that you all need to see in action for yourself. Even Goofy makes an appearance for crying out loud!
After watching the mod for myself, I couldn’t help but laugh out loud at all of the wild characters that kept popping up throughout the first few minutes of the campaign.

The Outer Worlds Is Finally Coming to Steam Later This Month
Developer Obsidian’s critically acclaimed sci-fi RPG The Outer Worlds is finally getting a Steam launch over on PC later this month, Oct. 23.
The Board is excited to inform you that job openings for employees through Steam will be opening on Oct 23! Your shift begins in 2 weeks, spacers, so start your preparations today! 🚀✨https://t.co/Hm7myuqXqs pic.twitter.com/LquEgz7njq
— The Outer Worlds (@OuterWorlds) October 9, 2020
Although the game has long been playable on the platform, it was only available via The Epic Game Store, Microsoft Store, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate in addition to console releases.
The Outer Worlds is a first-person RPG heavily inspired by Fallout both in regards to its aesthetic and overall design, which isn’t surprising given Obsidian is the developer behind the acclaimed spin-off Fallout: New Vegas.
Twinfinite reviewed The Outer Worlds last year and thoroughly enjoyed it, scoring the game 4/5 and concluding our review in the hope of seeing more content from the IP moving forward.
