War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius Getting First FF Tactics Crossover in The West

Just yesterday, Square Enix announced the second Final Fantasy Tactics crossover for the Japanese servers of War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. You may have wondered when the first would come in the recently-released western version.

The good news is that it’s soon, as announced today by the publisher on the game’s official Twitter account.

The collaboration event starts in two days, on April 22, and it’ll bring forth the first three Final Fantasy Tactics characters, Ramza Beoulve, Goffard Gaffgarion, and Cidolfus Orlandeau.

If you want to see what they look like, you can check out the trailer for the Japanese event which happened late last year.

If you’re unfamiliar with War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, which is currently available for iOS and Android, here’s how Square Enix describes the story.

“Leonis, a small kingdom surrounded by powerful nations, has remained unconquered with the help of a curious ring bestowed upon it king by the “Winged One.”

Finding them in the first place is a challenge, but once you have them you’ll likely want more specialised companions.

Fallout 76 CAMP: how to build, plan locations

Fallout 76 CAMP building

Building your own base of operations in Fallout 76 requires you to use your “C.A.M.P.” or the “Construction and Assembly Mobile Platform” (henceforth abbreviated to CAMP). As long as your CAMP is on a flat surface and not anywhere near established buildings, it gives you a home to make and repair items, and store all that junk you’ve picked up all around Appalachia.

Hardspace: Shipbreaker, a Unique FPS from Homeworld Devs, Gets Early Access Date

Hardspace: Shipbreaker is "a first-person, zero-G, spaceship salvaging game," according to its developers (many of whom worked on the beloved Homeworld series). Developer Blackbird Interactive and publisher Focus Home Entertainment have announced that Hardspace will launch into Early Access on June 16. Accompanying the announcement is a new behind-the-scenes video (which, thankfully, features a ton of gameplay – you can watch it above) that walks you through what Hardspace is all about; you play a blue-collar worker employed in orbit above Earth by the Lynx Corporation, a company that literally owns your DNA. That means that while you work on breaking down spaceships for salvage using your laser cutter, workplace accidents won't release you from the company. Instead, Lynx will reassemble your DNA and regenerate you. You'll have to figure out how to escape their grasp in some other way... [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=hardspace-shipbreaker-screenshots&captions=true"] PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Hardspace: Shipbreaker are planned for release at a later date, though no specific timeline has been announced. For more on Hardspace, check out the reveal trailer as well as a developer-guided gameplay walkthrough. How was Guilty Gear Strive's beta for you?

It was a long weekend for me and the Guilty Gear Strive closed beta test.

The beta was a painful ordeal of latency and connectivity issues, which is to be expected in any beta environment. But when it came to playing the game, I had a fine time, even if the delay-based netcode wasn't indicative of the final product's promised rollback netcode.

Timeline: The Complete Resident Evil Story Explained

Capcom's Resident Evil franchise spans numerous games across multiple generations of hardware, both console and portable. And, rather amazingly, the majority of these games feed into one, ongoing storyline. Sure, it might be a sprawling, messy, complex, and often confusing story, but it's also fascinating and fun.

Whether it's the seven mainline games, the multiple spin-offs, or the handful of DLC expansions, each game has something key to add to the rather dense Resident Evil universe. Of course, given the magnitude of it all, you couldn't be blamed for losing track of it all or even not quite understanding how the pieces fit together. Well, it just so happens we've put together a video to help you sort through it all.

In this episode of Timeline, we run through the entire story of the Resident Evil franchise, from its very start when Lord Oswell E. Spencer commissioned the creation of a certain mansion, to its most recent entry with Ethan Winters encountering a strange family in the Louisiana bayou.

Fortnite's latest live concert will be held over a series of dates

Fortnite's massive live events are typically well-choreographed affairs - if the game's servers let you get on and watch.

More than 10 million people tend to log in whenever Fortnite blows up a big location or broadcasts a bit of Star Wars - which inevitably leads to connection problems.

So for the game's latest spectacle, its second ever music concert, the show will be run multiple times for different regions. It's probably a good idea anyway, considering home internet use is up globally at present.

The Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox controller is now available

After a leak and a glitchy teaser over the weekend, the Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox controller is now available.

The Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox controller arrives shortly before a Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One X Limited Edition console that was also revealed last week. Microsoft has confirmed that will be available to order from June 2020 - and come bundled with the controller and a copy of the game.

However, if you'd rather not wait until then, the Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox controller is out right now. It features a special rubberised diamond grip, plus everything you'd expect from any other Xbox controller - so that's button mapping, Bluetooth support, a 3.5mm stereo headset jack and PC compatibility.

Xbox One X limited editions, ranked

We have reached the end of the road as far as fancy-schmancy Xbox One X models go. Less than three years after Xbox's souped-up mid-generation Xbox One first released, Xbox has announced that it's done with limited editions. The June release of the Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One X will be the last one.

Looking back, Xbox has actually been quite restrained with limited editions -- much moreso than with the regular Xbox One over the years. There are only six that were widely available (and we had to stretch the rules a bit to increase the list from four to six). Let's eulogize them by putting them in order from least- to most-aesthetically pleasing.

Games Done Quick pulls in $400k for coronavirus relief fund

Summer Games Done Quick 2020, like many gaming events this year, had to be postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak - yet that wasn't enough to stop GDQ from raising money for charity. Instead, an online-only speedrunning event called Corona Relief Done Quick was organised, and the marathon has now raised over $400k (£353k).

Between 17th-20th April, over 6000 people donated to help GDQ reach its $400k milestone. All the proceeds are going to Direct Relief, a "humanitarian aid organisation with a mission to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies".

If you want to catch up on some of the runs - which include a spectacular Cuphead sprint, Castlevania runs, NieR Automata and more, you can find it all over on Games Done Quick's Twitch channel. And, of course, there's still time to donate: you can help bump up that total over here.

Animal Crossing: Import Famous Artwork With Free Museum-Curated Tools And QR Codes

Animal Crossing: New Horizons came at a fortuitous time for many players, creating a happy refuge during the outbreak of the coronavirus. Public spaces like museums have been impacted by the pandemic as well, and have put some of their efforts during the shutdowns into joining the Animal Crossing craze.

At least two museums--the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, England and the Getty Museum in Los Angeles, California--have set up free tools allowing Animal Crossing players to import famous artwork into their games. Both sites have a selection of QR codes with some of their collection ready to go.

The Ashmolean collection includes short descriptions of the curated artwork, while the Getty tool is a bit more flexible in allowing you to select your artwork's cropping or import your own IIIF files.

Dreams or Nightmares Ep. 1: Furry Boarding, Family Guy, and Mario on PlayStation

Dreams has been out in full for about two months now and the community has taken to it like a horse to water, making all sorts of wonderful creations...and a lot of bull crap. In Dreams or Nightmares, we'll take a look at the wide variety of experiences inside the Dreamiverse. This inaugural edition brings us a meme-filled platformer, furry pro skating, and most shockingly, Mario on PlayStation.

The first game in our showcase is "The Quest for Cheese 2." You play as Wallace and travel the world looking for Gromit. Your journey will bring you to Heaven's pub to have a beer with Peter Griffin, through Shrek's Swamp, and even down to the depths of Hell itself. How far will you go to save your best friend?

Have you ever wanted to skateboard? Ever want to do it as a furry? Well, now your prayers have been answered. "Animal Pro Skater" is here! Create your own character and shred til your little bushy tail falls off, all with community-made Butt Rock jamming in the background!

That finally brings us to the greatest secret the world has ever known. What if I told you there was a hidden 3D Mario game on PlayStation? Well, it would be a lie. However, you can play "Super Mario Infinity" on your PS4. Or, you could, but Nintendo did its Nintendo thing and asked Media Molecule to remove the game from Dreams. Surely this will be the last we see of Mario in Dreams, right?

System Shock 3's Future Remains Vague As Otherside Entertainment Reemerges

Despite reports earlier this year suggesting the worst, today Otherside Entertainment have assured fans it's still around and working. And while it says a new concept is "coming along nicely," the status of System Shock 3 remains unclear.

The sequel to the long-lost franchise was announced in 2015, with series creator Warren Specter returning to it in 2016. Starbreeze, the game's publisher, relinquished the rights to distribution last year after extended financial and legal woes, with Otherside confirming it would continue with development. Since then System Shock 3 has only received a teaser trailer and has remained hidden since.

Earlier this year it was suggested by layoffs and reports from former employees that the project was all but officially cancelled. Otherside Entertainment didn't respond until today, with VP of Marketing and Business Development Walter Somol reassuring fans that the studio is still operating. His post appears on Otherside's official forums, in a thread regarding the studio's layoffs.

Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One X Console And Controller Bundle: Price, Pre-Orders, And More

The next generation of consoles may be gearing up for release later this year, but Microsoft isn't quite done with the Xbox One. The company revealed a new limited-edition console based on The Witcher 3 developer CD Projekt Red's upcoming action-RPG, Cyberpunk 2077. The game itself is slated for release on September 17, but if you want to get ready for it with a brand-new console, then you can snag the snazzy Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One X console coming this June. Its accompanying Cyberpunk 2077 controller is available to purchase separately starting today along with several other Cyberpunk 2077-themed accessories: an Xbox Pro Charging Stand, a Seagate game drive, and a SteelSeries headset.

The Cyberpunk 2077 console bundle will be the final Xbox One X limited-edition console ever released, and only 45,000 units will be available in select markets, according to Major Nelson's blog. The Xbox One X itself looks appropriately high-tech, and it even glows in the dark. We expect this system will sell out fast, and it doesn't look like it'll be restocked over time as with previous limited editions.

Out Zone, Twin Cobra, and other classic Toaplan shmups coming soon from M2

Japanese game developer M2 has revealed the identities of the first four classic Toaplan shmups being revitalised for future release on modern platforms. The four games were announced this weekend during the Famitsu & Dengeki Game Awards 2019 live stream.

Coming screaming out of the golden age of the arcade are 1990's sci-fi shooter Out Zone; the helicopter warfare of 1987's Twin Cobra; 1992's challenging Truxton II; and finally - a favourite from my childhood - 1987's Flying Shark. All titles are currently in development for future release, but unfortunately no platforms or dates were announced.

This quartet of classics represents just the initial offering from M2, who now has the rights to the entire Toaplan back catalogue. As such, more titles can be expected in the future, with a target to have all games released by the end of 2020.
