How Long Does It Take to Beat Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course DLC?

1 year 9 months ago

Wondering how long it takes to beat Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course? Well, you’ve come to the right place. In this guide, we’ll clue you in on how long it’ll take you to complete Studio MDHR’s newest expansion. So, without further ado, let’s dive in, shall we?

How Long It Takes to Complete Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course

We’ll cut right to the chase: According to a preview Twinfinite’s Khayl Adam conducted recently, Cuphead’s The Delicious Last Course DLC will take around 3-4 hours on average to complete for experienced players.

Per the preview:

I asked how long an average playthrough would take, which is a tricky question for developers to answer (considering variables like player skill levels and completion percentage) but was told that experienced players could expect 3 to 4 hours worth of content in the DLC.”

From what we can gather, then, while the average time to beat Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course for an experienced player is 3-4 hours, we’d wager that less experienced players will take a lot longer.

That being said, while Cuphead has a cartoonish art-style that looks like it’s aimed at kids, difficulty-wise, it’s anything but a kid’s game. In face, we’d go as far as saying that Cuphead’s difficulty is pretty hardcore on its Normal setting, and will kick most players’ butts if you haven’t played the game for a while.

Cuphead's Delicious Last Course offers depth over breadth

1 year 9 months ago

"Depth, not breadth." That's the mantra for The Delicious Last Course, Cuphead's DLC that arrives across all systems on 30th June.

Originally announced back in 2018, The Delicious Last Course has been a longtime coming for starving Cuphead fans. Priced £6.79, it adds around four hours of things to do on the brand new Inkwell Isle, and introduce new playable character Ms. Chalice.

Studio MDHR's aim, it says, is not only to provide something extra to play, but add new gameplay flavours to the existing main game. As an amuse bouche, Eurogamer got a hands-off peek at the new DLC and it's looking like there will be plenty to sink your teeth into.

Superpowered Action-RPG Superfuse Is Coming to Early Access This Fall - IGN Expo 2022

1 year 9 months ago

Superfuse – a superhero dungeon crawler with hyper-customizable powers – will hit Steam Early Access this fall.

Announced in a new trailer at IGN Expo, we saw a hint of the story told through classic comic book panels, followed by some very gory gameplay. Players will create an Enforcer – superpowered humans given the job of eliminating corrupted beasts across the solar system – and take down enemies using a mixture of classic Diablo-style loot and deeply customizable powers split between 5 main classes.

The game offers both solo and up to 4-player co-op play across procedurally generated dungeons teeming with beasts – and a conspiracy-laden story to discover as you go. We previously played an early version, saying "The plethora of combat options feature dozens of combinations of abilities, modifiers, and status effects that pile on submenus within submenus to create one of the most disgustingly customizable hero-builders I’ve ever seen. It’s a stat-consumed nerd’s dream, and if Stitch Heads can pull it off I could easily see it becoming my next obsession."

1 year 9 months ago

Roots of Pacha, a life-sim about guiding a Stone Age tribe to success, has released a Steam demo today.

Shown during IGN Expo, a new trailer showed off the tribe learning to use seeds to grow crops, build settlements, irrigate fields, and even play music in rhythm action sections. The demo is available on Steam now, and using the code "SMILEY" will unlock a special hat for your character (which is just a cat balancing on your head).

Roots of Pacha was Kickstarted last year, and offers full co-op play alongside the more standard solo life sim experience. Planned for both conoles and PC, no specific release date has been announced as yet.

Starkeepers Is a New Sci-Fi MMO Starring Viking Animal-People - IGN Expo 2022

1 year 9 months ago

IGN Expo has brought the exclusive reveal of Starkeepers, a new MMORPG coming to Steam Early Access in 2023.

A cosmic sci-fi game at heart, Starkeepers' central race is a group of anthropomorphic Viking animal-people, including wolves and seals. These unusual heroes are the titular Starkeepers, god-chosen warriors sent to ward off eldritch cosmic threats.

A gameplay teaser showed off the game's low-poly looks, its mixture of action combat and town building, not to mention trap-filled dungeons. The developer promises a vast open world, filled with multiple factions, and the opportunity to fight both beasts and gods along the way.

PvP will revolve around cooperative base building, in which you create 'Starkeeps' filled with traps and turrets – and attempt to take down rivals' creations. Players will be able to form councils to declare war on rivals – or become part of the world's governments, managing clans and banding players together.

Developer Wolfpack Games are a multinational team based in Beijing, Sydney, and Rotterdam, built with a focus on MMOs in mind – and with experience on everything from the Lord of the Rings MMO to Warframe. The studio aims to fix issues in existing MMOs, and wants to create projects "free from unimaginative questing, free from mindless theatrics passing for 'combat', free from game economy in uncontrolled spirals, and definitely free from disruptive over-commercialization."

1 year 9 months ago

Block N Load 2 got a re-reveal at today's IGN Expo, and we learned a Steam closed beta is on the way soon.

The destructive FPS, which mixes Team Fortress-like team-based battling with Minecraft voxels, is a return to the ideas of the 2015 original - albeit with better looks, more complex building mechanics and more varied combat. The sequel was first announced last year, but this is the first meaningful gameplay we've seen for some time.

The new version is coming to both PC and consoles, and offers multiple hero types, 40 different types of block, which react to your play and can change the shape of the match (literally), and a full create-a-map mode that allows sharing with other players. With a beta coming up, you can sign up to play early on Steam right now.

Gungrave G.O.R.E. release window

Studio Iggymob and publisher Prime Matter have released a new trailer for Gungrave G.O.R.E. and it features plenty of gore, as the name would imply. It also reveals that the game will hit PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PC sometime this fall.

That’s exciting news for fans of games with lots of bullets, blood, and more because it’s right around the corner. Gungrave G.O.R.E. was first announced back in 2021 with a flashy (and again, very gory) gameplay trailer. If you’re excited, be sure to watch today’s new trailer:

Gungrave G.O.R.E. is about the anti-hero Grave doing what he does best: mowing down undead targets using his twin pistols and weaponized coffin. Back in 2021, Prime Matter revealed that former Platinum Games and Tango Gameworks designer Ikumi Nakamura was lending her artistic talents to the game as a character designer. You can tell, too, because these characters look great!

Gungrave G.O.R.E. is slated for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and it will be released sometime this fall.

Retro Shooter Project Warlock 2 Is Now Available in Early Access on PC - IGN Expo 2022

1 year 9 months ago

Buckshot Software and Retrovibe has announced that '90s-style FPS Project Warlock 2 is available now on PC in Early Access via Steam and GOG.

Revealed at IGN Expo, a new trailer showed a rapid-pace glimpse of the content available during Project Warlock 2's Early Access version. This smaller slice of the full game contains six levels that Buckshot Software describes as being up to 10 times bigger than any level in the original Project Warlock. Each level is a multi-floor structure with platforms and buildings that add a new layer of verticality to the run-and-gun gameplay.

Project Warlock 2 is inspired by the likes of Quake and Doom 64, and features an arsenal of upgradable weapons including swords, guns, magic staffs, cannons, and a range of special skills. The Early Access version will begin with playable warlock Palmer, but he's just the first of three characters. In the coming months, chapters featuring warlocks Urd and Kirsten will be added.

Buckshot Software expects Project Warlock 2 to be in Early Access for about a year, with player feedback from this first chapter being used to refine the gameplay and help develop the remaining two chapters.

For more, check out the first 10 minutes of Project Warlock 2. If it looks like your kind of thing, there's currently a 10% discount on both Steam and GOG to celebrate the launch. No Place for Bravery Is a Pixel Art Soulslike Launching This September - IGN Expo 2022

1 year 9 months ago

IGN Expo is pleased to announce that No Place for Bravery, a 2D pixel art game with Sekiro-inspired combat, will launch this September.

A new trailer reveals that No Place for Bravery will be available on PC (via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG) and Nintendo Switch from September 22.

The 2D soulslike features fast combat that places a strong emphasis on parries, much like FromSoftware's Sekiro. As Thorn, you'll explore a wretched, grim world where death lurks behind every corner. Your journey to investigate your daughter's disappearance will see you accompanied by your disabled foster son, Phid. The concept promises themes of compassion and parental responsibility amidst the encrounching darkness, so perhaps we'll see parallels to God of War as well as Sekiro and Dark Souls.

No Place for Bravery was shown as part of the Guerrilla Collective back in 2020, and here on IGN developer Pedro Machado also walked us through how the game works.

For more from this months biggest shows, be sure to check out our Summer of Gaming 2022 schedule, which is our complete guide to every live stream and announcement show of the season.

Ground Divers Is a Dig Dug Style Game.. With RPG Systems Built In - IGN Expo 2022

1 year 9 months ago

IGN Expo saw the reveal of Ground Divers, a brand new game in the style of classic arcade game Dig Dug – but filled to the brim with systems more familiar from an RPG. It arrives for Nintendo Switch on June 30.

Described as a "slapstick discovery game", Ground Divers sees you guide the rabbit-like mining robot Tsuruhashi into increasingly complex mine shafts of your own creation. The game sees you not just digging for "rare matter", but fighting off underground enemies, building Pit Relay Systems to help offer upgrades and supporting units along the way, and more.

Both Tsuruhashi and your home base can be upgraded over time, lending it something of the feel of XCOM. There are even special moves built in for cheering on Tsuruhashi enough. It looks truly unusual, and markedly different from anything out there right now.

This was just one of dozens of announcements and trailers revealed during IGN Expo 2022 - make sure to check them all out.

How Sonic Frontiers Came to Be an 'Open-Zone' Game | IGN First

1 year 9 months ago

The Sonic series is no stranger to large departures from established formulas, and Sonic Frontiers is shaping up to be one of the biggest departures the blue hedgehog has seen yet. It takes the one-of-a-kind high speed 3D action and adapts it to fit a non-linear open world, or as Sonic Team themselves refer to it: an Open Zone. To break down the origin of this decision to break new ground with the 3D Sonic series, I talked with Sonic Team Creative Officer Takashi Iizuka, who not only explained the origin of the Open Zone design, but also spoke about the decision to merge old and new styles of Sonic gameplay in Sonic Frontiers.

IGN: When did you first get the idea to make an open zone focused Sonic game? Was this something that you brainstormed as an idea before the development of Sonic Frontiers?

Iizuka-san: After completing Sonic Forces, we were brainstorming on what to do next. We realized there's little room for evolution with a traditional 3D Sonic game. We'd only be able to make something that fans have seen before. That's why at the very start, we discussed as a team how to change this linear style of gameplay.

IGN: Did you look to any other Open World games as inspiriation when it came to designing Sonic Frontiers' Open Zone gameplay?

Iizuka-san: As I just mentioned, this game began with us asking how to give more freedom to linear Sonic games. Its origin is in a different place from open-world action-adventure games. This new "open zone" game system is our way of giving as much freedom as possible to a Sonic 3D action game.

Street Fighter 6 Luke and Ryu Taunts Shown

Capcom's been gradually sharing more details about what to expect from the next Street Fighter game. The latest is a lighthearted video about an action folks can perform in fights. The newest clip shows taunts from Luke and Ryu during a Street Fighter 6 match.

The segment begins with a taunt from Ryu. He folds his arms over his chest and says, "Come on!" After that, Luke taunts him multiple times by making fun of Ryu performing a Hadoken.

Taunts have been present in Street Fighter games for years. In addition to the normal Street Fighter V ones, there are also taunting actions after certain moves. For example, Dan has an additional one after he performs a Critical Art.

Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary Celebration Livestream Will Air Next Week: “Please Be Excited”

1 year 9 months ago

Today Square Enix announced that a celebration livestream to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Final Fantasy VII will air next week.

To be precise, the broadcast will debut on Friday, June 17th at 3:00 pm PDT, 6:00 pm EDT, 11:00 pm BST, and midnight CEST, depending on where you live.

It’ll air on Twitch and YouTube and it’ll last only ten minutes. Yet, the message mentions to “please be excited.” Veteran Final Fantasy fans will likely recognize the wording.

According to a message from Tetsuya Nomura himself, the livestream will be short and sweet, with a lot of information packed it, so perhaps the “please be excited” messaging will live beyond its memetic value.

We've run the numbers on Diablo Immortal to find out what it really costs

1 year 9 months ago

Ever since Diablo Immortal launched amid a storm of controversy last week, people have been trying to work out how much it really costs to play this theoretically free game. I'll be honest that maths has never been my strongest suit, but figuring out how games work under-the-hood is one of my favourite things to do. So I've spent most of this week chasing answers, and I've come up with a ballpark estimate of what it would cost to max out your character. The answer is: £46,000, or $51,000, to fully equip your character with the best gear as quickly as possible using premium currencies.

How to Play Xbox Games on the Samsung Gaming Hub

1 year 9 months ago

Wondering how to play Xbox Games on the Samsung Gaming Hub? Fear not, we have got your back. Xbox and Samsung have announced a brand new partnership, allowing Samsung Smart TV owners to play Xbox games via Cloud streaming. This means that you won’t need any Xbox console or dongles or any such thing, all you need is a Games Pass subscription and a compatible smart TV and you are all set to experience a plethora of Xbox Game Studios titles “on the same day they release.”

How to Play Xbox Games on the Samsung Gaming Hub

To play Xbox Games on the Samsung Gaming Hub you will need a 2022 Samsung smart TV, a Bluetooth-enabled controller, and an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. To start playing Xbox Games on your compatible Samsung TV simply open the Xbox app from the Samsung Gaming Hub and log into your existing Microsoft account.

Since the games will be streamed via Cloud, all the heavy lifting and processing will be done on the server-side. All one needs is a fast and stable internet connection to stream the games of the server. The monthly subscription of the Xbox Game Pass subscription is currently priced at $14.99 (USD) and offers instant access to hundreds of cloud-enabled games, including Xbox Game Studios titles on the day of their release.

Not all games will need a subscription. Games like Fortnite will be available to everyone irrespective of whether they own the subscription or not. Any Xbox wireless or DualSense controller that’s compatible with the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, or Xbox Series X|S should do the job.

Street Fighter 6 Will Have Character-Specific Taunts - Including Making Fun of Hadouken to Ryu

1 year 9 months ago

Street Fighter 6 is seemingly trying to expand the franchise on all fronts, including ways to make fun of your opponent.

The game's official Twitter account has been revealing more and more of Street Fighter 6 since its first gameplay was shown off at PlayStation's State of Play last week, most recently highlighting the different taunts available.

Street Fighter 6 will have character-specific taunts, with some of them being direct mockery towards the opposing character. In the clip shared on Twitter (below), Luke can be seen pretending to throw a weedy Hadouken in the face of Ryu.

"Will Ryu stand for this mockery or be a Chad and do something about?" the post jokes, before hinting that Ryu will have a plethora of different taunts himself. "Or does he have more ways to respond..." it adds.
