Yoshimi Yasuda, the designer for Lollipop Chainsaw, posted more information on one of the proposed changes to how RePop will play. One of the new elements in consideration is an increase in chainsaw speed in accordance to your current combo.
As Juliet hits an enemy consecutively, she can increase her combo level. Yasuda and the other members of the development team are planning on adding in a feature where the chainsaw speed will increase along with that level. She’ll also be able to earn coins in this fashion. Yasuda has not mentioned what you can use these coins for.
There has been a mixed response to the change on Twitter. Some people think that there should be a default speed increase anyway. Others focus more on the gameplay screen itself. Some users complain that it’s too cluttered and difficult to see what’s going on.
Lollipop Chainsaw RePop is a remake of the 2012 Lollipop Chainsaw. You play as the zombie killing cheerleader Juliet, who saved her zombified boyfriend with a magical ritual. She hacks and slashes her way through the zombie outbreak using her boyfriend’s head and her trusty chainsaw. Other changes that Yasuda is considering for the remake include better camera movement and improving the input timing for Juliet’s cheerleading.
Lollipop Chainsaw RePop will come out in Summer 2024. There is no information as of yet in regards to its platforms. The original game came out on the Xbox 360 and the PS3.
